Ordered takeout from here. We ordered a 3 roll combo with sweet potato, eel cucumber, and salmon avocado. It came with a side of seaweed salad. We ordered an extra salmon avocado roll. Also ordered the spicy tonkatsu with extra noodles. Our order was ready in under 15 minutes and was extremely fresh. The sushi was a good portion for the price. The restaurant itself is candle-lit and very cute. Packaging was top tier. The insulated bag was very nice. The sushi box was packed to perfection. I cannot recommend this place enough.

SUSUKINO in the financial district of NYC is an absolute hidden gem. I stopped in for their incredible $28 dinner set which includes an appetizer, a roll, and your choice of ramen or a rice bowl. The value is amazing and the quality is even better. I sat at the bar and loved the peaceful, relaxed atmosphere that felt like a perfect escape from the busy streets outside. Since it was happy hour, I could not resist ordering the takoyaki. The fried octopus and squid balls were crispy, savory, and incredibly satisfying. For my main, I chose the ramen and it arrived piping hot and full of rich flavor. It was exactly what I needed on a cold NYC night. Everything from the food to the ambiance to the service made this a fantastic experience. I will definitely be returning. Five stars all the way.

Decided to visit Susukino for my lunch break. It really wasn't too busy. I opted for their lunch set and got the tonkotsu ramen and a salmon roll for $20. For the price, I say I would say I was happy with it and would return again. The broth wasn't the most flavorful I've had, but truthfully, I did prefer it because other ramen broths I've had in FiDi have an off-putting "strong-ness" to them after a while. I do also wish there were more noodles in the dish (first time I have ever said this).   I think if you're in the area and need a ramen/sushi fix, this is your best bet!

Casual yet decorative, this Japanese spot in the FiDi is a great pick if you work or are visiting in this part of town for reasonably priced and loaded lunch sets. The spicy yellow tail roll that came with my lunch combo was not premium but still gratifying, and I would go back for the pork katsu and rice I chose on my first outing

I ordered take out from here for 3 people - we each got a dinner set. 2 ramens and 1 katsu don. The take out was prepared in a timely manner and was very well packaged. Overall, the food was just okay. The karaage was a bit hard. The tuna, spicy tuna, and salmon rolls were got were all good. The katsu don was also good. The ramen was okay. The noodles were medium thickness but there wasn't much of it. The broth was a bit salty and we thought it lacked a bit of depth. Overall, docking a star for our personal experience with the food but I would be willing to try the ramen again in the restaurant

I love ramen and this place does deliver their ramen. The lunch special was amazing and comes with a side of sushi. Ramen wise, I really enjoy their broth, it wasn't as salty and kept ramen to Japanese tradition. The sushi rolls that come with the lunch special was standardized but it's worth to get the lunch special. I however love their ambiance! It has a feel of a Japanese ramen era! The service however was extremely slow, we waited for about 35-40 minutes just to get our order. This may be a one off. I will visit again to try out other things on their menu. If you're in the neighborhood and looking to try a new local ramen spot, I would recommend stopping and support this local business!

I had lunch to commemorate National Salmon Day back in October. It was a bit of a walk to get to this place but I was seated quickly. Overall ambiance was a blend of American and Japanese restaurant. Service was a but slow. I ordered the Salmon teriyaki Bento box. I'd definitely return to try their Ramen lunch special and happy hour.

Tonkostu ramen! So yummy on a cold winter that I ordered it twice!
    Amy Y.

Ordered the tonkostu ramen on a cold winter day. I started with a sip of the rich pork bone broth. Worked my way with bits of the toppings such as bamboo shoots, Naruto fish cakes, and these brown thin strips of crunchiness. My ramen egg was slightly cooked and no longer runny, which I was ok with. It happens. My only concern was the thick slices of cha siu pork. It has flavor but it was not tender enough for my liking. The noodles were slurpable. The umami-ness of the broth clinged on to each noodle strand. Service was prompt. Ambiance was there... People were chatting and enjoying the food and company. Just note most of their ramen is tonkostu/pork bone broth based. I would definitely go back and order the other ramen options. Pricing wise I guess it's normal for FiDi. They have a ramen lunch set for those super hungry!

They have considerably more business now but the service and quality has degraded. Ordered shoyu ramen set with salmon roll and agedashi tofu app. Pros: Salmon roll is nice, thick cut of meat and little rice Matcha tea is nice Cons: Ramen soup too oily, even for shoyu. If I wanted oil I'd have gotten tonkotsu.. Not enough ramen soup. Too much noodle. Ramen soup condiments not good quality and mostly bamboo and seaweed and egg. Where's the pickled red ginger? Chicken is a bit rubbery Shoyu egg was half hard boiled. Not fully silky yolk. Agedashi tofu came out after the main meal. I tried to cancel but couldn't. Not enough broth. Felt oily and under seasoned. I've had better in Rego park lol. Waitress: not very friendly feeling, no smiles until pay bill, last time was friendlier.

Newer ramen restaurant in the financial district. My friends had ramen (which they enjoyed), and I had their pork katsu which was really good. I also thought their seaweed salad was tasty! Pretty good prices for NYC too. Food 4/5 Service 4/5 Decor 4/5

Solid food, quick service and very friendly for solo diners. They also have great deals, including happy hour and dinner sets. Everything on their happy hour menu is under $10, and they have a $28 bento set that gets you an entree, appetizer and a roll.

Sushi lunch and pork katsu lunch set

Cute little Japanese restaurant in the heart of the financial district . Service was friendly and quick. We ordered their lunch specials. Our meals range from $18-$21. Sushi lunch was really good . Fish was fresh and smooth. The California roll was good as well. Really enjoyed it. Salad that came with the meal was big and the ginger dressing was delicious! The tonkatsu ramen set was ok. Soup was light and the char Siu was thick ( some parts a bit dry), the egg was really well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The cucumber salad was lacking ( the dressing was like water down May without any seasoning, disappointed at how bland it was). The salmon roll that came with it was very good and they were very generous with the salmon. The katsu pork was ok. Fried to crispy perfection and sauce on top was nice. The cucumber salad was lacking again in this set but the salmon roll was good. Overall we did enjoy our meal and will come back .

This consisted of pork and chicken broth, spicy ground chicken, spinach, bean sprouts, cabbage, and nori. I ordered it spicy, but I should have gotten it hot instead. I was NOT a fan of their mushroom friend rice. It was a plain white rice with sauteed mushrooms and corn. That's it. I expected a bit more and fresh ingredients especially for the price. I thought the rice would be at least been fried? I asked for some soy sauce and spice just to add a bit more flavor to it. However, our service was great and I cannot say enough kind words to the staff. The rest of our company enjoyed their food. My partner ordered a ramen which he enjoyed and wished there was more ramen options available for being a ramen (advertised) restaurant. Overall it was a good experience to try!

Cozy no-frills ramen bar near the theater district. I enjoyed a delicious, balanced bowl of Paitan…read moreramen ($19). No complaints, except that I guess I prefer Tonkostu (pork bone) over Paitan (chicken bone). I appreciated sitting at the bar to watch the lone ramen monger stir around the next batches of broth, hand-torching some chashu; boiling, whip-drying, and gently nestling my noodles, then manually laying out the toppings. The dish feels real, personal.

This spot delivers the kind of authentic paitan that reminds you why people used to line up on cold sidewalks just for a bowl. I ordered the Paitan Ramen Deluxe, and it genuinely lives up to the name. The broth is silky, rich, and comforting without being overly salty which is exactly what a proper paitan should be. The bowl comes loaded: tender shredded chicken, seared chashu, marinated soft-boiled eggs, fresh scallions, bamboo shoots, and a sheet of nori that ties everything together. Every topping tastes intentional, not just filler. The texture balance is what really stands out fatty chashu that melts, shredded chicken with real flavor, and noodles that hold up beautifully in the broth. You can taste the care in the soup base; it has depth, not just heat or salt. If you loved Totto Ramen back in the day, this feels like its modern successor same spirit, new precision. Toribro isn't trying to reinvent ramen which they're just doing it right. And in NYC, that alone makes it worth a visit.
