This was my first meal on my first solo trip in NYC and it didn't not disappoint. It was a very cozy and busy restaurant, which is to be expected in Manhattan, but I was seated right away because I was alone. The ramen was truly some of the best. I love curry and the mix of flavors and textures was delicous. The ginger was a nice strong flavor and paired well with the rich curry broth. The noodles were prefect texture. The katsu was hot and crunchy and well seasoned. This was a perfect first meal for a chilly day.

Delicious homemade pork broth with pork chashu, red ginger, shallot root made spicy with chili paste and oil. I prefer udon noodles to these thin ones but the flavor of the broth compensated for noodle,We were greeted warmly with a Japanese welcome.

The decor was so cute here! It feels like you're eating at a true ramen shop in the heart of Japan. The seats were quite close to each other so you could hear the conversations next to you, but the lively atmosphere makes it cozy. They provide crates for you to place your belongings by your table. Our food came quickly and the service was great. They greet you in Japanese as soon as you walk in the door. As for the ramen, it was tasty, but it wasn't the best ramen I've ever had. Have I had cheaper ramen for better taste? Definitely. Is it still worth coming to try and enjoying the atmosphere? Absolutely. If you want a clean broth, this is the place to go.

A cute and cozy ramen shop located right below Central Park - I got the shoyu ramen which had a light, clean chicken broth with toppings like the scallions and bamboo shoots + it comes with a lovely soft boiled egg! Noodles are more on the al dente side, which made them nice and springy. They were actually quite packed on a Tuesday noon, but the service was swift regardless. The rustic, wooden interior was also very snug and really did remind me of Japan :')

Kin Ramen is such a charming place to enjoy a bowl of hot noodles. Made to feel like you're transported to an old Japanese village, this restaurant boasts bamboo panels and clay-tiled roofs with kabuki masks and paper lanterns adorning the walls. But Kin Ramen isn't just all style and no substance. The food, too, was just as delightful as the decor. The buta bara, marinated pork belly stuffed with scallions, was wonderfully meaty and perfectly charred. It was a great dish to start. The pork chashu was creamy, the noodles had a good chew, the yolk on that boiled egg was expertly firm yet gooey. This is certainly a great date-night spot paired with an evening at the Moma. I'd come here again, and if I were hosting out-of-state guests hankering for a bowl of hot ramen, I'd definitely take them here.

If you love ramen, this is the place! The restaurant is cozy, clean, and the food is absolutely amazing. It was so good that we went back a second time during our trip. Staff seemed a bit in a rush, I get that only because they are super busy. The ramen was outstanding, but the shrimp and beef dishes were just as delicious if you're not in the mood for ramen. Everything we tried was fresh and full of flavor. I'll definitely be coming back the next time I'm in New York City!

Dare I say one of the best ramens I've had in the city? Noodles were chewy and bouncy, soup was so light and savory despite having truffle, and the chicken was literally so juicy and gingery. Loved the vibes inside as well--there were a ton of retro posters, traditional masks, and other kitsch items; really felt like I was transported to an izakaya in Japan!

3.5/5 Three stars, because honestly, the Ramen was just all right for the price point. The noodles were thick and chewy which some might prefer, but there was nothing standout. I'm surprised there was a line outside, but it's a very small shop and it's in a very touristy area. The line moved quickly. The extra .5 comes from the veggie gyoza & the fun ambience. It's a tight space though so best to come in a pair and not a place to loiter.

Our first time in Kin ramen and I felt instantly transported to a tiny ramen shop in Tokyo. The sights, smells, seating, flavors, are all so similar. I do regret not getting the Kara kin ramen itself - we got the curry ramen instead and i know the restaurant's namesake will be better! Apps were good - we got the chicken karage and loved the dipping sauces. Definitely give them a try! Go early on a weekday night to be seated immediately. I know there's usually a short wait on weekends.

Close to Central Park. As is true of most ramen places in the city, the tables are tightly packed. Had the daikyo cocktail which was refreshing and delicious. Had the Kara Kin ramen which was very good. Very friendly staff. Would go again

If you love Ramen ...this is the place to visit. It was like we died and went to Ramen heaven. Took me back to my days in Thailand. Numerous menu items to satisfy any Ramen pallet. We had a bit of a wait to be seated ...they did not take reservations It was rather chilly outside and they do not have a sizeable waiting area. Pack your patience. They have a upper and lower floor. We were seated on the upper floor. My preference was the upper floor, the lower floor appeared to be a tight fit. Once seated the food came quickly and was absolutely perfect. The food coupled with the excellent service made it a fantastic dinner outing. Staff and other were very friendly with us striking up a conversation with folks at other tables.

My review is only about the Spicy Kin Ramen. I can't really give it more than 3 stars because although the quality of the broth was high, it came in a small bowl and was not satisfying. There were two very thin slices of pork and very little broth. I usually struggle to finish a ramen, but this time it was over in a few minutes. This place is so popular you need to show up at 4:30p if you don't want to wait outside in the cold. However, I don't think it's worth the wait, since for $22 they could easily up the embarrassing serving size.

I've taken a lot of friends here over the course of 10 years, and without fail, every one of them has walked out mindblown--and why wouldn't they?! The wait times have gotten better over the years (probably because people are waiting for the restaurant next door), but the food and drinks here are still top-notch. Staff is always great, and they all work so efficiently. I am generally a fan of izakayas, but there are very few that offer plates that are designed to be shareable, and this is one of the reasons the food here is so enjoyable in a small group setting. I am obviously biased and think they can do no wrong, but some of my staples that have stood the test of time: Kimchi cream udon, avocado tofu salad, salmon sashimi tacos, and the kani cream croquettes. I was so excited when they opened an outpost in Flushing years ago, but sadly it shuttered during COVID. It is definitely small and there is always going to be a wait, so don't be those people who come in with a huge group during prime time because they like to move (getting customers in and out) very fast.

Half of their menu is vegan-friendly. Spoiler alert: they will open a permanent location in June/July! *Chicken Karaage*** This chicken karaage was TO DIE FOR -- the caramelized sugar lemon on the side took it to a whole new level. The boneless chicken was so tender and juicy with a thin deep-fried batter. The meat was extremely refreshing after squeezing the lemon and dipping in honey mustard sauce. * Handrolls - Salmon Yuzu, Tuna, Yellowtail** Y'all need to order their handrolls! The sashimi piece was thick and long enough to cover the vinegar rice. It would be a pain to pick which handroll I like more. They layered up the flavors of each piece with house sauces, shiso leaf, fried leek, avocado etc. Wish they would add a handroll set in the future. *Pork Cutlet Curry The curry was a blend of shredded meat, mashed potatoes, tomatoes and grapes (yes grapes!). The pork loin cutlets were crispy and not heavily breaded. The meat was a bit dry, yet it was cut in thin slices so it didn't bother me much. I found the multigrain rice even more enjoyable than white rice with its crunchiness. *Matcha Crème Brûlée** WE LOVED THIS. Matcha flavor is strong. The caramelized top and creamy matcha custard complemented really well. Trust me, their crème brûlée is the best dessert to finish off your meal. *Vegan Matcha Cheesecake This cheesecake was homey and light. Matcha flavor was tasteable but not very strong. The raspberry compote added a nice touch to it. I liked the crunchy biscuit layer on the bottom. *Yuzu White Peach Sparkling *Virgin Green Tea Mojito Their Japanese-inspired mocktails were great and not too sweet (very rare for mocktails). Very refreshing to drink along with your meal.

Starting off with the Agedashi Tofu: Three pieces of tofu in tsuyu sauce. Light and crispy, with a savory but not too salty broth. It came with fried enoki mushrooms. Some grated radish would've been a nice touch. Chicken Karaage: This was my personal favorite. The chicken pieces were tender and juicy, while crispy on the outside. The portion came with a decent amount of chicken which was shareable between three. Shoyu Ramen: Not a standout dish, but seeing as it's not specifically a ramen restaurant, it was standard! Not amazing but not bad. Pork Cutlet Curry: As someone who loves Japanese curry, this hit the spot! Warm flavorful curry with crispy tonkatsu. However, I think it would taste better served with fluffy white rice! Also I think it was served with a side of grapes which was seemed odd unless it's a new food trend I'm unaware of. Overall, would definitely come back! They seem to do fried foods well, hopefully they can introduce tempura or a katsu sando would be amazing.

And I never understood this either. We ordered 3 omakases to share amongst 2 people, and then a ton of a la carte dishes to share. Which were such a beautiful compliment to our omakase dishes. We got the "O" which was a 9 course meal with some cooked and raw options. From the a la carte menu, we ordered the chicken karaage, agedashi tofu, hamachi kama, clay pot rice with salmon and roe, sukiyaki noodles, 2 different rolls (tuna and salmon) and of course the uni taster (which were 3 different kinds of sushi from California and 2 from Hokkaido). The agedashi tofu was the worst amongst our group for a weird texture, definitely did not feel like tofu. The best dishes were the uni taster, chicken karraage, and hamachi kama all from the a la carte menu. And from the omakase, definitely the sushi platter (which were 10 pieces of sushi) and the soba noodles were so amazing! The sushi rice here were so delicious!
