    The inside is so cute!

I've lived close by for 10 years yet never went into Suzys Freeze until now. Wish I would've come here sooner! The gentleman manning the counter has got to be the nicest guy in the world, and I'm pretty sure he must be the owner. The chocolate dipped cones are fantastic. Just like I remember from when I was a kid. French fries are bomb. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's super clean on the inside and has the most wonderful vintage feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Please give this place your business! We've got to keep places like this alive.

Suzy's Freeze - A Sweet Post-Hike Treat in Old Town Placentia! We stopped by Suzy's Freeze after a quick family hike at Carbon Canyon Trail -- one of our favorite springtime traditions that includes visiting the local Redwoods/Sequoia trees (yep, NorCal's giants have younger, slimmer cousins growing right here in OC!). After all that outdoor fun, a cold treat was definitely in order -- and Suzy's Freeze delivered big time! Location: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Located right in Old Town Placentia, directly across from the historic Placentia Water Tower, this place is a charming, retro-style walk-up soft serve shop with serious old-school vibes. It's clean, bright, and super inviting. They have plenty of tables and seating to accommodate a big group or just a casual stop with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Ice Cream: We were blown away by the quality! The soft serve here is next level -- rich, creamy, and perfectly swirled. I got the Vanilla-Chocolate twist (Large) and loved that the cone was filled all the way down to the tip -- no hollow cones here! My fiancé got a Small, and the kids ordered from the specials menu (don't ask me what they got -- something with "worms", "dirt" and gummy bears... but they loved it Lol). ‍ The Owner: He's a one-man show and absolutely crushes it. Friendly, fast, and you can tell he takes pride in what he does. We didn't try the burgers or sandwiches this time, but saw a few go by and they looked pretty great -- definitely trying them on our next visit! Final Thoughts: Suzy's Freeze is the kind of place that makes you feel lucky to have local gems like this nearby. Great service, amazing soft serve, and perfect for a sunny SoCal day -- especially after a nature walk. Highly recommend for families, date days, or anyone needing a nostalgic treat done right.

My kid and a small cone.

Finally got to try the ice cream. It was so good! We got 2 small swirled cones. The size was perfect for me and for my son. It wasn't too sweet like most other places and it was the perfect texture. Really smooth, not icee, subtle sweetness and the cone wasn't stale. Service was top tier. The guy that helped us was super friendly and seemed genuinely happy to have customers come in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We loved the cute art inside as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would highly recommend.

Great hole in the wall spot to grab a sweet treat. I've been on the search for something to replace the discontinued Reese's McFlurry and I've finally found it. I got the Reese's Tornado and it hit the spot! The vanilla ice cream base is not too sweet and of course the Reese's were great. My husband got the Butterfinger Tornado and that was really good as well! Will drop in again when I'm back in the area.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Wow - this was a find. Four minutes off the freeway but a throwback thirty years ago timewise. Very good old school soft serve, milkshakes and burgers. This place is a gem of a find[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I ordered a chocolate milkshake. The owner (super friendly) made it to order from soft serve vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, and milk. That's it. No pre-mixes, no funky thickeners, just those three ingredients. The taste? Awesome.

One of my favorite local businesses that I love to support whenever I have a chance. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It may not be a fancy place like other corporate ice cream shops but it's a cute mom and pop shop that has lots of kindness and care for the customers and their sweets that they serve.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] With a hard working father and son tag team, they don't only carry different kinds of ice cream and shakes but also sandwiches and burgers. My husband usually gets shakes and I always get the tornados, which is always a special treat especially during summer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a large and clean space where it is perfect to hang out with your families and friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Great old school soft serve place! They are a rarity in these parts and having grown up on the east coast, Suzy's Freeze gives me nostalgic vibes. The soft serve ice cream is very good and the customer service is extremely friendly! Highly Recommended!

Great low key spot for ice cream. I ordered a snickers and also Oreo tornado. They were both delicious. The owner was very friendly.

Even in gloomy days we love Suzy's Freeze.

Best place to get a chocolate soft serve ice-cream dipped in chocolate! In addition, our friend at the counter is super kind and welcoming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's always smiles and giggles when we visit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

So after my shift this morning, I rolled back into Loaded Cafe with cautious optimism... and a healthy dose of side-eye. I'm happy to report this visit was much better. Nice and Clean. Staff attentive, once they saw that I was there. The coffee hit the spot, and they brought out a fresh concha that was soft, warm, and exactly what it should be. My only complaint? One concha? That's just rude. At least two should come with coffee. I'm pretty sure that's somewhere in the Constitution. Then came the French toast, and it absolutely redeemed itself. Thick, fluffy, buttery, and exactly what I was hoping for after a long morning. No complaints there. The best part, though, was getting to chat with the new manager. It's refreshing to see someone who genuinely seems to care about improving the experience. That conversation gave me hope that my previous visit was the exception, not the rule. So here's to second chances. This visit earned one. I'm rooting for the team to keep heading in this direction because I'd love for no one else to experience the epic breakfast fail I had just a month ago. This time around: worth the stop. Next time... just slide another concha onto that tray and we'll really be onto something.

The steak was decent, the eggs were cooked just right, and the hash browns were pretty typical for what you'd expect. The disappointing part was the brioche French toast. We ordered everything to go, and it seems like sometimes with takeout you just don't get the same attention to detail. There was no powdered sugar and no butter included. I did get the syrup, but overall the French toast was pretty underwhelming. Overall, the meal was okay and pretty typical for this type of restaurant, but I expected a little more, especially for what you're paying.

I gave…read moreReunion Kitchen 1 star across the board because the atmosphere, service, and food all fell well below expectations. The service was by far the worst part. We sat for over **20 minutes** without anyone coming to our table--not even to offer water. I eventually had to get up and ask someone to send a server over. What made it even more frustrating was watching other parties who arrived **15-20 minutes after us** receive water immediately and have their orders taken before anyone even acknowledged our table. After finally waiting another 10 minutes to receive our water, we had to track down our server again just to place our food order because no one returned to check on us. By that point, we had been sitting long enough and were more than ready to order. To make matters worse, we ordered an appetizer of coconut shrimp about five minutes after placing our entrée order, but it never arrived. After we had already finished our meals, we asked to cancel it, only to be told that our server had never entered the order in the first place. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the poor service. It lacked flavor and was very underwhelming. This experience was frustrating enough that I cannot recommend Reunion Kitchen. I initially wanted to believe this was simply an off day or an inexperienced server, but after hearing from two other people I know who described nearly identical experiences, it seems this may be a recurring issue. One thing that left me especially uncomfortable was seeing guests who arrived well after us receive prompt attention while our table was repeatedly overlooked. I can't say why that happened, but it certainly made us question whether we were being treated differently. I sincerely hope the restaurant looks into its service standards and ensures every guest is treated with the same level of respect and attention.

My son called Culinary Dropout and spoke with Olivia, the hostess, to see if the kitchen was still serving. Olivia responded with genuine warmth and kindness, assuring us that the kitchen was still open and that they would be happy to welcome us. From the moment we arrived, Olivia's hospitality set the tone for an exceptional evening. She greeted us with a warm smile, made us feel genuinely welcome, and promptly seated us. Shortly after, our server, Layla, introduced herself. Despite the late hour, she was energetic, engaging, and had an infectious enthusiasm that elevated the entire dining experience. She expertly recommended several cocktails, along with a glass of wine, and her knowledge of both the bar program and the menu was impressive. Her recommendations for appetizers and entrées were spot on. We decided on the Wagyu Pigs in a Blanket, BBQ Nachos, and the Spicy Rigatoni. Every dish was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and exceeded our expectations. Another team member, Emanuel, delivered one of our dishes and was equally personable and engaging. He took the time to share information about the restaurant, further demonstrating the outstanding level of hospitality displayed by the entire team. Manager Dave also stopped by our table to check on our experience. We shared with him that this was, without question, one of the best dining experiences we've had in Orange County in quite some time. Great food certainly matters, but it was the exceptional service, genuine hospitality, and positive energy of the staff that made the evening truly memorable. A sincere thank you to Layla, Olivia, Emanuel, Dave, and the entire Culinary Dropout team for creating such a first-class dining experience. We look forward to returning soon and will gladly recommend your restaurant to family and friends.

Ambience on the inside as well as the outside are both pretty great. I've also never had a bad meal here, virtually all of their food is spectacular and made from scratch although their prices are not "cheap" they are also very fair, especially given the quality of food. The drinks are also dead on, they have a wide range of craft beer as well as a full bar. The service is great. The only thing I could think of the lands in the constructive arena is their live music. Sometimes they have open mic nights, other times they have a hired band or musician. The music is way, wayyy too loud. I don't mind live music, but it can't be so loud that you are unable to enjoy the company. Patrons should be able to talk to the person or the people next to them without being drowned out by the music. I recently came with friends for drinks and we were having a great time for the first 10 minutes we were there, but when the music started, we couldn't hear each other talk at all. So we just sat there quietly, drowned out to mediocre music. We all had another drink and then left. Might be a better idea to have the music loud enough to be slightly above background noise, but low enough where you can reasonably talk and listen to those around. Even ordering at the bar was tough. We would yell an order at the bartender, who would yell at back for confirmation. Often, exchanges in this dialogue included "what was that?"
