I would like to make it clear that most often, I write reviews when I receive great service. I never write a review for bad service, but this experience was extremely disappointing. Having mediocre food is acceptable for me and my company if the ambience and service is better. But this place, the service was terrible, mainly our server. I came here for my birthday as a present from my sister. The ambiance is pretty. This place is mostly famous for the building and its location. The high tea for two is terrible: the tea sandwiches are made in stale and dry bread. The desserts are semi good and the scones are hard and dry as a rock. If you are someone who has very little experience and afternoon tea and high tea, this might be the best experience of your life. If you are someone who appreciates a calm and friendly service, this place is not for you, especially if you are an experienced and avid tea drinker. SERVICE: our server took our order like a McDonald's server without any friendliness or enthusiasm. She was not polite either. She seemed very unhappy to be there. When we asked about their most popular menu item, she was overwhelmed and took a deep breath with deep annoyance, replying: " I have no idea what people are saying about our menu online. My friends and I enjoyed our return to Swan Coach House for a ladies tea party. Parking was easy with complimentary valet. We were greeted by the host and sat down within 20 minutes. The restaurant was pretty busy with lots of bridal and baby shower gatherings around us. Hosted my sisters bachelorette party here and have mixed feelings. At 45 pp I expect greatness, and some of our experience was great! The tea selection was good, a green, a black and two decaf blacks (give us more green and white!) The food was good, macarons were particularly fresh and tasty (I think they're from Alons Bakery), manager David was incredibly welcoming and valet provided top tier service to all the ladies in my group despite rain and other nasty customers. Now the bad.... why are the servers so unfriendly? I was shocked! I work in food service and never behave this way at work. Nobody was enthusiastic, and when i lost my debit card and asked a server in the (empty) dining room if she'd seen it, she ignored me and kept texting on her phone. I visited the Swan coach house for an inspirational workshop hosted by some friends; it is such a beautiful venue! I arrived to find free valet parking, which is always a plus, along with friendly faces and welcomes from the staff. The downstairs area is filled with an assortment of jewelry, purses, scarves, trinkets, and more. It was hard to not just hand them my wallet and buy all the things! They also have an art gallery on site, which was super cool. It's filled with work from local artists and I loved all of the colors and textures throughout the displays. We headed upstairs for the event and I saw several different rooms, each brimming with light from the big windows. We had a chicken dish, a salad, pastries, and tea for lunch...I cleaned my plate. It was a flavorful and not too heavy meal. The other guests and I had a great time during the workshop and we chatted with some other ladies who were there for a bridal shower on our way out, everyone was in good spirits. This is such a cute place for brunch! I love the whole southern belle atmosphere. I know this is actually a great popular spot for bridal showers. You can actually have small intimate weddings here too. They have spaces all the way upstairs on the third floor, main level and basement. Personally, I would probably want to be sat either all the way upstairs or the basement because that's where the bathrooms are. I just love the whole southern belle theme. The food was a lot better than I expected. I thought this place was a touristy spot so I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. I 1000% recommended reservations and especially earlier in the day because they do run out of their silk swan desserts. I was actually really upset I didn't get to try it. I did settle for the pecan pie and honestly it was just amazing. They are actually known for their desserts. This place is actually in Buckhead not far from jennies ice cream and Whole Foods supermarket. They do offer valet parking and it's free. You just have to tip the valet. This was such a nice and cute brunch experience. After you're done with your meal, you can check out their little gift shop. They have lots of swans that you can purchase, but honestly the gift shop kind of reminded me of a Christmas store. They had a little bit of everything they had a lot of cute holiday ornaments. Hubby and I waffled between a 3 and 4 star on this one. Ambiance is beautiful and what you would expect for High Tea let alone one served in the South. Complimentary valet parking. Always appreciated. And yes please tip. Everyone needs a Jobie in their life. Watching this gentleman orchestrate was nothing short of a professional who should give lessons at how true customer service should be done. He seriously did not miss a beat. The tea was delicious. Where things fell flat was the actual food for the High Tea. I know I'm a tough grader. I know I tend to be a slight snob in this area. The sandwiches were small. Slightly smaller than what I'm used to. But that would be okay. I feel like the white bread used was not a high quality bread but something similar to Wonder Bread. I only say this because it tended to soak up the moisture from what was inside. This left the entire sandwich sort of gummy. There was a pimento sandwich on a brown bread that this didn't happen to. On the next level there were scone. Yum. And a biscuit with ham. Again many many times doing tea, typically there is something to add clotted cream to. But the scones were not plain. And there were no plain biscuits. And again both of these demure. I'm used to that level having warm foods. The scones & biscuits maybe not fresh from the oven but definitely heated. Usually served with clotted cream and jam. The top level was dessert. That I didn't mind as small bites. But nothing stood out. Nothing seemed made in house. I would have rather the kitchen take a slice of two popular desserts cut each of those in 1/2 and serve. Glad we did it. Definitely worth the overall experience. Wonderful experience from start to finish. It was a nice way to spend an early Mother's Day with my mother for lunch. It's nestled off the main road and located in a very quiet area. I arrived just a few minutes from opening time, which was 11am. Valet parking was available for free. Before being seated, I took a few minutes to browse the gift shop which had lots of lovely and jewelry pieces and much more. I purchased a few small items and returned to the dining room to be escorted to my seat. It is such a cute setup inside - it's the perfect place for a tea party (note to self). Even the bathrooms were complete with the pastel color scheme and girly vibe. Food arrived very fast and presented very well. No food was wasted! What. A. Gem. My husband and I are in town from Arizona and we decided to spend the afternoon at the Atlanta History Center. After making our way through the interior of the museum, we found ourselves wandering through the grounds of the beautiful property and ended up at the Swan Coach house. It couldn't have been a more delightful experience. We were seated next to a sunlit window, I enjoyed the Swan Special and my husband had the Burger Sliders. Both of us had been raving about our meals since we left the restaurant. Our Server, John, was wonderful to us, as well as the rest of the staff. I'm sorry I didn't catch his name, but after our meal, the manager even gave us a tour of the beautiful private dining rooms upstairs. The staff was very helpful and gracious. We enjoyed a delicious lunch consisting of bread service, tea sandwiches, Swan's favorite chicken salad and the swan chocolate mousse dessert. The food was really good and I was pleasantly surprised with the frozen fruit salad. 10/10. Me and my fiancé came here to view this venue, and the lady was so off putting and rude to me, but wanted to be nice to my Caucasian fiancé. When I would ask questions she would be short with me, and barely wanted to look at me. I was so happy to view this place, and this experience made me so sad. However, I was surprised that they had quite a big selection of hearty sandwiches including chicken pot pie, burger and tacos. The soup was very good and the sandwiches were tasty. Rolls were also served before the meal and were very good. The portions were generous and I became full after two sandwiches so I took the rest home. The menu for this place was different from tea houses I've visited in the past. 4 stars for the overall experience and a must visit for all girls! Food isn't anything unique or amazing, but fitting for a cafe for brunching and high tea. Swan Coach House is located behind the Swan House in Buckhead. Valet is the only option and optimal since there's limited parking in the small parking lot. What's great about this place is that it's also a small art gallery, knick knack/arts & crafts shop, and the cafe in one so either before or after your meal, would definitely tour around. We made our visit on a Saturday after 1 and were petrified seeing so many people waiting outside. What a relief to found out that those people had just finished their brunch/high tea and was just lingering around. We entered the cafe and the walls were plastered with pink flower wallpapers. Again fitting and super girly but much if you're not into pink. We all had girly cocktail which was both fruity and strong. I had the Montecristo sandwich where the breading was actually french toasts! Turkey and cheese wedged in between~ Was on the heavier side and plenty to share for 2 but I wiped my dish clean out of hunger. Few things I've noticed. Very one gender, one ethnicity... to the point that I was bit creeped out but luckily we saw one brave man and one black couple. Highlight: this is a upscale southern tea house that serves small bites, salad, soups, and sandwiches. It is not for those who want a large meal, but it will be great for hose who like small, well portioned meals. We ordered the salad sampler and shrimp salad. The salad sampler comes with a scoop of the shrimp salad, tuna salad, and chicken salad. I thought the shrimp salad had a bright summary taste while the tuna and chicken were comfortable and delicious but not remarkable in terms of being unique from other chicken and tuna salads I've had. We ordered a Swan Coach Punch. Salad sampler: Salad scoops were served in wonton cracker like heart shaped small cups, came with 2 strawberries, 2 pineapple slices, and 2 oranges slices. The shrimp salad had cucumber and parsley, mayo and shrimp. The shrimp was cocktail- cooked lightly and still springy in texture- shrimp if cooked too long can become hard and rubbery. This was still tender and juicy. The cucumber and parsley kept this salad fresh and summary and the mayo gave it a nice umami taste to blend together. The chicken and tuna salads were not too salty or heavy in mayo. Some places put too much mayo to where lettuce or raw vegetables must counterbalance the grease. You could eat these two salads cleanly without that concern. The fruits balance the saltiness and umami of these three salads with tang, sweet, and juice. This whole dish is very refreshing and satisfying. The Swan Punch- I thought was a little underwhelming. It was missing a zing or Punch. Tasted a little generic- like a V8 splash berry cocktail. I wished they had put mint or lime to add a refreshening taste. Even an alcohol like vodka would have made this a fresh mojito like drink read more

Started and run by the women of the Forward Arts Foundation, Swan Coach House is not only a restaurant, but also an art gallery and preservation of life in the South from centuries past. Enter the historic building and you'll get a glimpse of a timeless Atlanta, complete with silverware from carefully kept collections and impeccable Southern hospitality. I ordered the Swan's Favorite, which featured chicken salad and a frozen fruit salad, while my friend ordered the Club Sandwich (turkey, bacon, and swiss cheese). The chicken salad was good-- cool, creamy, and flavorful. I've never had a frozen fruit salad before, and though I wouldn't choose it myself, the frozen yogurt complemented the berries well. My friend said that her sandwich was just alright. Though the food wasn't something I'd come back for, the environment that this house creates is definitely worth a visit, at least once. After visiting the Swan Coach House recently, I am wondering why have I not visited it sooner? The Swan Coach House is located in the heart of Buckhead by the Atlanta History Center. Upon arrival, parking seemed a little intimidating because it was a full lot, so we decided to do Valet which turned out to be a great option. (Don't forget to tip). When we entered the building, Louise instantly made us feel welcome with her friendly demeanor. She was also very accommodating to my mother (who uses a walker) and assisted her to the table. Her warm hospitality truly made us feel at home and set the tone for our experience. After we sat down, our waitress Sarah greeted us and took our drink orders. Again, the hospitality was impeccable. She answered all of our questions and gave superb service. Her suggestion was to try the Tea Sandwiches and Poblano soup, and I am so glad we followed her instruction. It was a simple meal, but each bite was very delicious. AND THE SOUP! Each spoonful was flavorful and indulgent. We were trying to figure out the ingredients so we could "attempt" to recreate it. Finally, our meal was topped off with the French Silk Swan dessert. Next time, I am not sharing this decadent dessert with anyone. I must say my first experience here was fantastic. Before we made it out of the door, each person asked: "When are we coming back?" A basket of sweet muffins and rolls is presented to you. Try your best to not eat them all before your order arrives. I ordered the spinach quiche with frozen fruit salad. The frozen fruit salad is made with sweet cream and mixed fruit cocktail. It is so refreshing and delicious. For the cocktail, I ordered the Bubbly Atlantan. It is one of the best cocktails I have ever had. The combination of champagne, St. Germaine and cherry was wonderful. I love St. Germaine so I was very happy with it. Saida was a pleasant and friendly waitress. She was attentive without being overbearing. The food, drink and service were so good that my mom and I returned the following day and ordered the same items. The main dining room is extremely small so it can get quite crowded but it is worth waiting for. If you have a party of eight or more, you are able to make a reservation. During both visits, there were multiple showers - bridal and baby. They do have private dining areas downstairs as well as upstairs on a terrace if you need a bigger space. I adore everything about the Swan House. My grandmother took us here when we were younger. After she died a few years ago, my mother, sister and I decided to come here at least every December in her honor. The decor is so beautiful, and every table has a bouquet of enchanting, fresh picked roses. I order the "Swan's Favorite" the most because it is so wonderful and it really brings me back to eating with my grandmother. I've also tried the Classic BLT with avocado, and the Vegetarian sandwich. Both are great too. Save room for the chocolate mousse Swan! read more

I was very disappointed today! I was invited to a shower and boy let me tell you. This was a very disappointing experience. The service was horrendous. The server continued to act nasty towards my elderly mother. Telling her she was I the way and that they did not set up the table that way. Said she must have moved her place setting and her chair this way! Really? The food was disgusting! The tomato soup had so much salt my legs are swollen . The bread was stale for the "tea sandwiches ". The swan dessert was cute but tasted horrible. I do not recommend this place for any event. I asked the rude ladies for change in the Art area (to give the valet) and they were very short and snod and said NO! We used to come here a lot when I was younger and I do not remember it being this poorly managed. Do not recommend and will not be back. The main course allowed for 2 Tiny tea sandwiches, a quarter sized quiche and a bite of a spanakopita. We asked our server what was in the cheese and her reply was "I have no idea", and she walked away. No choice of tea just plain earl grey. Gratuity was included but not told to us.
