Gave 3 stars because the outside of the cake looked AMAZING. So beautiful and inviting. BUT There was a bubble that formed in the middle of the cake which was not pleasant for our guests to see. The cake was very dense and dry. It was not moist or fluffy at all. And lastly, after we cut one section it literally fell apart into 3 pieces. She was also extremely rude. We told her we would pick up the cake from 1:30-2:00 and she called me at 1:43 saying that she was leaving at 1:45 so she may not be there to give the cake to us. read more

The best Baker secret in the Bay Area. Thanks to other yelpers, I found this great place for my wedding cakes. My fiance and I went to try cakes at different places and nothing was close to the experience that we had with Sweeeeet.com. Working with the owner, Merav, was a pleasure. She helped us select the flavors and provided excellent ideas to create the final look. WOW, WOW, WOW.... what a winner! Called to order 8 inch chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream filling and chocolate ganache frosting. First off, it was GORGEOUS and four layers of huge - essentially two cakes tall. Spoiler: The pastries/desserts from Sweeeeet will add a new level of "amazing" to your ranking scale. No hesitation - the BEST desserts/pastries in the Bay Area. Not to mention, they have a wide array of Gluten-free options! The fact that Merav and Sweeeeet don't have hundreds of yelp reviews absolutely shocks me - two reviews in two years? Fellow yelpers, get off your duff and try this place... The 411: I noticed this place on yelp about three weeks ago, since it's less than 2 miles from my house, and was blown away by the detailed pictures, and the simple ingredients list on the proprietor, Merav's web site. I'm not much of a sweets/dessert person, but I kept coming back to the site every few days, as it looked so unique/interesting, and it was crystal clear, this was being run out of someone's house, which further interested me, as in a home/micro-batch environment, attention to detail, quality control and the quality of ingredients is almost always superior to a commercial environment. Further, who can say no to home-made dessert? Enough was enough - I had to try it... Ordering: Pretty straight forward, simply order online, and make sure to specify the time/date you want to pick up your precious morsels in the comments section. Make sure to allow at least 24 hours notice - and yes, they take Paypal, which makes it remarkably easy/convenient. What I got (see pics I added): 1.) Cinnamon Sticky Pecan Rolls: I've got to preface this with the following.... I'm a foodie, and I've been to some of the best bakeries in the world - from France to Seattle. I travel quite a bit, and often take 2-3 business trips a month, so when I say i've tried most every bakery worth yelping about in the US in major metropolitan areas, I mean it. That out of the way, the Sticky Pecan Rolls are my new gold standard with which to compare other "Cinnamon Rolls" with. Now normally, i'd just leave it at that, but in this instance, it requires further explanation as often on yelp, you'll hear some makeshift explanation of why something was good, which contains no reference-able data, EX: "These were amazing!" which often leaves you disappointed, as one persons "amazing" is anothers "Meh." So what makes these amazing? Simple - it's the complex assortment of textures and flavors, with no dominating quality to overpower any other ingredient. The end result is an explosion of textures/flavors. The base of this concoction is a buttery/flaky, almost croissant like roll, with a healthy, but not overpowering or dominating application of cinnamon. Next, it's sprinkled with a few plump raisins (which actually add quite a bit of flavor/texture - and I usually don't like raisins) and then drenched in brown sugar, which is then topped with Pecans and caramelized. This is probably the most unique quality, as the entire roll is caramelized with a light brown sugar shell, which provides a delightful "crunch" upon the initial bite, teamed with the crispy pecans - followed by sticky, flakey, pastry. If this heavenly delight doesn't plaster and ear to ear grin on your face, there's only two explanations - you're either diabetic or allergic to one of the ingredients. 2.) The perfect Coffee Cake: Perfect. Coffee. Cake. Not much more needs to be said about this one. Moist, lovely cake, lots of cinnamon, and stands up to "dipping" in coffee, should the mood strike you. Not quite a perfect 11 as the sticky rolls, but this is a solid 9 out of 10, and one of the better coffee cakes i've had. 3.) Crembo: Most folks probably haven't heard of "Crembo" but if you've ever been to Israel, you probably have. Crembo in Israel is like a hamburger in the US. It's a little difficult to explain but it's a wonderful mix of flavors/textures, sweetness (from the chocolate/cream) and richness (from the mocha) but it's a big time crowd pleaser. The old lays potato chip tag line says it best - "Bet ya can't just eat one" ;-) Ingredients: What really won me over, and the reason I ordered from sweeeeet is the ingredient list. Take a look http://www.sweeeeet.com/ and you'll see a detailed ingredient list for each item on her site - almost all of which have less than 10 ingredients, simple, natural, delicious. Picking up: There's no denying it... it's a little "odd" picking up baked goods from someone's house you ordered on the internet. That said, Merav and her husband couldn't be nicer/warmer folks, and immediately make you feel right at home - and who wouldn't take micro-batched, home made treats over a mass produced bakery? There's simply no question - anytime I want some jaw dropping desserts, Sweeeeet is my "go-to" from now on. An absolute yelp "must try" and stands out as my top "yelp-find" in 5 years of using yelp. read more

They were so delicious people talked about how wonderful they tasted and the tiers were snatched up very quickly!! And most of the kitchen cakes too. My matron of honors husband bought my bridal shower cake from another wonderful baker in Danville. We loved her too but I just loved merav more. I ordered a week before a party a dozen chocolate ganache cupcakes, a dozen vanilla cream cheese cupcakes, and a 9" strawberry and white chocolate cake. Lots of people raved about the cupcakes, especially the ganache. They were big with a lot of frosting but since they weren't too sweet, I could eat the whole thing. I loved the cake! It was so tall, tasty, and strawberry-y. Merav said we didn't have to refrigerate it but we did anyway which may have contributed to its difficulty to cut (kinda thick and sticky). The height made for huge slices. I ended up cutting bigger wedges and cutting those in half to serve. Delivery was right on time. Looking forward to ordering another cake for our next occasion! read more
