I've lived in the area for 6 years and just got around to trying this place. I called in a breakfast sandwich order and was told 15 minutes. I drove over and went into what appeared to be the main entrance but I now know there's a direct entrance to the Bakehouse. The main entrance has you walk through the multi-use space and then you get to the Bakehouse. I didn't see a menu but they had loaves of bread, everything bagels, cookies, muffins, scones and cupcakes that all looked very good. I can attest the blueberry muffin is very good because I got one in addition to my ham, egg and cheddar breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwich menu on their website is a picture that you need to zoom in on to read. There are a bunch of options with steak, ham, bacon, various cheeses, garlic mayo, etc. but I went for a basic ham, egg and cheddar on one of their homemade English muffins. It was honestly one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. The ham is sliced from the hock and not a measly thin deli slice plus is was still hot when I cracked into it at home. My husband got the steaky steak which he also said was potentially the best he's ever had and would give it a 5/5 for taste and 4/5 overall because of how messy it was. Definitely one that you can't put down after you pick it up. We definitely want to try other options next time. Some sandwiches come with a hash brown on it! Happy we tried it and will definitely be ordering take out again. read more

My only mistake was coming early on Tuesday. The English muffins wouldn't be ready until 9:30ish. Had a ham, egg & cheese on an English muffin. All I can say is great sandwich. I had a large iced coffee with coffee ice cubes... great iced coffee. Bought a few pastries that must have been leftovers from the weekend--- they were awesome. You should definitely go out of your way to score some fresh baked English muffins from here! For the sandwiches: WOW, there are a lot of options! Like twenty, I think? It can be a bit overwhelming to try and look through them all behind the plexiglass of the register. Choose from solid basic breakfast sandwiches (like a bacon, egg, and cheese) or something a little more creative like "The Monstah" (double egg, sausage, bacon, hashbrown, ketchup, cheese) or the "Some Like It Hot" (double egg, pepperjack, hashbrown, pickled jalapeno, and chipotle maple mayo). There's even a couple vegan options! I tried the "What The Cluck?!": vegan chicken (I think it was a Morningstar Farm patty), vegan gouda, green lightening jam, and tofu. It was okay. A bit stodgy for me; I'm unsure what the point of the tofu was; the gouda was the predominant taste. I think it could have been brightened up by some kind of fresh green or tomato or something; maybe even more of the jam because, while my sandwich didn't have much, when I did get to taste it packed such a pleasant punch! If you're looking for a hearty, hot, filling American style breakfast sandwich, you're gonna love it here. I still love the homemade English muffins, and the sweetest young person was working the register. I picked a breakfast sandwich quickly, added a coffee, and 6 EMs. They were out of coffee and needed to make more, plus my sandwich wasn't ready yet, so I waited a while for my order. Food was great, but whenever I stop in at the Sweet and Savory Bakehouse for takeout, it always feels like they are so busy doing their real work that there isn't time for any niceties or connection with walk-in business. Cute place we happen to see along the side of the road. You walk in and it's not very big or lovely, but it has everything you need. A menu that explains all the sandwiches, english muffins for sale, and some bakery items such as cookies and bread, as well as a fridge with drinks. They also had coffee and iced coffee. I had to have an English muffin with butter and jam, and it was just soooo good, fluffy, fresh, just the best English Muffin I have ever had. My husband enjoyed a sandwich, and it looked loaded with goodness. He highly enjoyed it as well. There is a lot of parking here, definitely worth the stop. Clean bathrooms too, which was nice as we were driving a long distance. read more

This place is incredible. The family running it are so kind. You walk in and see them making everything from scratch behind the counter (with the kids helping!). My wife and I each got a breakfast sandwich and they were a couple of the best breakfast sandwiches we've ever had (and we are from NJ where the breakfast sandwich competition is fierce!) I've been coming to this place now every summer for two years! I discovered it by accident, popped in to see what their coffee was like and fell in love. Not only is the coffee to die for...not a lot of options however, when I say to die for I mean it's strong, it's flavorful and amazing! And to make it even better, they serve any iced coffee with coffee ice cubes! You have two options iced or hot that's it, and it's perfect because that's all I need. I can just dress it up at home. And the breakfast sandwiches, don't get me started on them...absolutely delicious. I ordered the Mother Clucker I think it was called, and let me just tell you, it's not just some slice of deli ham, It is a slab of ham! And the cheese and the other stuff that they put on it...it was definitely half of a paper towel roll of dripping, deliciousness from the cheese and the tomato! The other great thing about this place is their kids are helping out. These kids are gonna know the food industry like the back of their hands before they're 14! And they were sweet and kind and also made me laugh because you're standing there ordering and the other one's coming around the corner yelling, your name, orders up! If this were the show, Alice, Mel would be in heaven having help like this!! And the owners, (parents) are amazing. This Bakehouse is worth the trip! They have a wide array of unique sandwiches and EVERYTHING is homemade. All the English muffins, bagels, chicken patties, sauces, etc. I got the "Fly the coop" this was a homemade chicken patty, egg, bacon (such good bacon), American cheese, hot sauce, and their black diamond cheese sauce. My husband got the basic sausage egg and cheese on an English. The homemade English muffins are SO good. We also got blueberry bread pudding muffins, double chocolate brownies, and strawberry rhubarb bars. I will be going back to try the breakfast burrito, maple funday, and the cheese louise. My husband and I are locals from Buxton. We were on a trip to North Conway for our anniversary and saw this cute bakery on the way. We saw people coming out with coffee and bags and were excited to try a new place. When you first walk in, it's a little different of a set up with other businesses sharing the space, but we easily found where to go. We liked what we saw in the bakery case and ordered some caramel bars, a coffee, a bagel and a breakfast sandwich. All of the food was really good, especially the baked goods. We wish we could say we would become regulars here but service wise, the cashier made me feel like she thought we were going to steal from her or the bakery multiple times. I have not ever experienced that kind of behavior towards me or my husband in my life. The first instance was when she asked us to move just because we were standing diagonal to the glass barrier in front of the register, trying to stay out of another customers way that was getting coffee. The second instance was when we were waiting for our food, I tried some of the baked goods, and wanted more. So I decided to go up to the counter to look at what else they had and as I stood up to go over, she called another customers order. As I went up to look at the bakery case, she told me multiple times that she wasn't talking to me, that the order wasn't mine and even specifically moved the food bag behind the counter to make sure I didn't try to take it. I was super uncomfortable and wanted to get out as soon as possible. Maybe if she is scared of the public, don't have the bakery open to the public or don't have her in the front. My husband and I felt like outsiders even though we live maybe 10-15 mins away. We did love the food though so it's a bummer. read more

So I've visited this bakery multiple times and gotten their amazing bagels and cream cheese. Checked out their new location and holy @$&* just go! The vegetarian and vegan option breakfast sandwiches!!! They have tofu,vegan cheese, fake chicken and sausage. I had the mother clucker sub fake chicken. The green lightening jam makes the sandwich. My person had the beast which was loaded with chorizo and had a whole dang hash brown in it. Actually cannot wait to go back to try another sandwich! Don't sleep on those bagels either! read more

This place is amazing. The breakfast sandwiches are the best I've ever had, mostly because of their house made English muffins. The English muffins are large but not too thick, have plenty of nooks and crannies, and toast up with just the right amount of crunch. Seriously, pick up a six pack of the English muffins along with your breakfast sandwich, you won't regret it. Their ice coffee is great too, they use ice cubes made from coffee so it won't get watered down, it's a nice touch. The people that work there are super nice too, and they take the pandemic seriously, I always feel safe going there. My boyfriend and I have been riding out the pandemic on his parents' land in Limington since the beginning of June and I have really appreciated having this place be so close. There are tons of great bakeries and cafes and coffee shops in our neighborhood in Boston but this place blows them out of the water. read more
