Sweet and Shavery was one of the first shops I went to when I came to Davis, and it quickly became my favorite place. From the second I walked in, I thought that it was a very cute shop. The workers were very friendly and welcoming. I got a small Sunset per one of the workers recommendations; they said that was one of the more popular orders--mango ice, strawberry ice, and vanilla custard. Ever since then, it became my go-to order every single time I went there. I have tried other flavors when I went with my friends, and I haven't had a flavor that I disliked, but Sunset is still the winner for me. Additionally, the place gives you stamp cards so you get a free small ice or parfait after the 10th stamp. They also have a birthday wheel which is always nice if you ever choose to come on your birthday. Overall, this is a great place to get dessert in downtown for children and adults alike. Savory Crêpes! You've only been in business since 2014?? Where have I been?? I don't come to the City of Davis often but now there's a reason to... We came by for a Yelp hosted event. Hubby and I were each treated to a complimentary Italian Ice topped with frozen custard. I chose 4 tart flavors -- strawberry guava, lemon, sour watermelon, and orange topped with swirl custard. Hubby chose tropical flavors -- coconut, banana, mango and pineapple with chocolate custard. We both loved the combination of the flavors we chose. Amazing! It was a generous serving. One of my favorite sweet treats are crêpes so when I looked up on their menu board and saw that they offered crêpes I had to get. I watched Jessie make my Strawberry Nutella crêpe. I requested to add sliced almonds. You can create your own crepe or choose one (or two) of their combos. Since I was still full from my Italian ice I saved my crêpes to bring home to Roseville. Legit take on a Philadelphia classic: "wooder ice" and custard. Custard is on point; heavier and richer than soft serve. Had interesting ice flavors that I never saw before, like banana!! Wooder Ice is made with constant agitation while freezing. The crystals have a different texture than "shaved ice." It's much, much better. What a delicious treat and charming shop at Davis, CA's Sweet and Shavery. I had a duo shaved ice containing a scoop of cotton candy and a scoop of mango lassie shaved ice. The mango lassie was definitely the star. It was flavorful and sweet and you could really taste mango. The cotton candy flavor wasn't that strong. I loved the condensed milk on top of the scoops and the high swirling tower of custard icecream which topped it all off. I combined shaved ice and ice cream in every spoonful for the perfect bite. Service is great here. Our server was accommodating, helpful and patient and it was fun sampling flavors before making a choice. I came here for a Yelp Elite event so I was very excited to try some delicious Italian Ice flavors. Right when my nephew and I walked in, we were greeted by the girl working the store and she was very upbeat and approachable. The store was clean, organized, and nicely decorated. Sanitizer was made available immediately after entering the store, which was a nice touch. I loved the photos of the desserts on the wall as well! I chose to try the pineapple and strawberry flavor with the vanilla cream topping. It was DELICIOUS! I'm not a fan of sweet things or desserts really, so this was a good compromise because it was literal flavored ice that was not sweet like shaved ice out there. The flavors were nice and distinct. The vanilla cream topping was a nice surprise to have...not too sweet, which was perfect. I tried the chocolate topping my nephew got and that was delicious! A little bitter and not sweet at all. Like I said, I'm not a sweets and desserts type of guy, but if I ever get a craving for something a little tastier and healthier than ice cream, I'd definitely choose to come to Sweet and Shavery!!
