Nice ambiance. Friendly service. Food was ok. Chicken salad was fine. Large pieces of chicken with some celery and mayo. Not much else. Turkey dinner had large slices of turkey. Stuffing was weird. This location just opened a couple days ago so my boyfriend & I checked it out. Walked in and washed my hands in the restroom before eating, restroom was trashed with toilet paper & waist (human) all over the floor. There were no paper towels & the hand dryer did not work. Sitting down I opened the menu and there was a very large selection to choose from, breakfast items can be ordered day & night. The prices were $20.00 for ALL entries & appetizers with little variation, so for two people eating expect to pay between $50.00 & $100.00 for the meal, tax, tip & beverages. The food was ok, I had the chicken frajitas & my boyfriend had the Giros. Curiosity solved, would I ever go back to the Sweet Basil Cafe? NO, because the quality of the food did not justify the crazy high price tag, better food could be obtained at a close by burger & gyro joint for less than half of what the Sweet Basil Cafe charges. read more

Food is fabulous. Lots of different choices. Service is wonderful. Very attentive but not annoying. I recommend the tenderloin sandwich and any pancakes on the menu. The caramel latte is my favorite beverage there. Great for family dinner or even date night. read more

Me and the hubs found this place Saturday night looking for a place to eat dinner, around 7 pm. We walk in and are seated right away. There's maybe 10ish tables and appear to be at least 3 servers. The menu was huge--tons of breakfast and lunch/dinner to choose from, and prices were average/reasonable for the area. We can see the servers interacting with other tables,serving them drinks, etc. Nobody comes to our table. Around the 10 min mark,hubs says let's give it 5 more minutes. We agree, and I set a timer. A table is sat behind us, and THEIR server comes up and starts taking to them. We still don't have waters; literally, NO ONE has been to our table since we were sat. 4 min and 30 seconds later, our server pops over (who had been at the other table next to us multiple times since we came in) and apologizes for the wait, says he'll be right with us. I observed him sitting at the coffee bar talking to someone, grabbing drinks slowly, and then carrying a drink with his fingers near the top of the cup (gross). Dude comes over a few minutes later, and hubs tells him we're set, we've had enough time to look at the menu, and we know what we want. Before I can open my mouth to order, our server excuses himself because he forgot to put in an order of mozzarella sticks for another talbe and walks away... never took any part of our order. At this point, it had been about 20 minutes, and we had enough. We got up and started walking out when the hostess, who sat us just 20 minutes prior said "thanks for coming in!" Literally clueless that we never ate. So I can't comment on the food, but this was the worst service I've had in a very long time. read more

Love the new restaurant in Streamwood. The food was amazing. The staff was stellar. The ambience is very comfortable and inviting the manager was very friendly and very energetic about the new restaurant. This is exactly what Streamwood needed my husband. Wait for the food was long and when it came out it was room temperature and bland. Don't recommend and won't be going back.

Waitress had to be reminded to bring toast and pancakes, had to ask for syrup . We were halfway through eating, it wasnt busy , she brought us containers for our leftovers, was that a sign they wanted us to hurry up and finish our food? There really wasn't room on the table for containers so we had to put them on the seats of the booth. For a late lunch, of 4 entrees; eggs and steak , omelet ,side of berries ( didnt know its an extra charge and only berries, 2 chicken sandwiches , ( which came with a cup of insipid soup) and small side of pasta salad ) no beverages, came to $85.00. Overpriced , but everything is expensive nowadays. Dont think we'll be back, there's better places to get together for lunch. read more

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. First the lady answering the phone was rude so that should have been a red flag, then they got my order wrong and still charged me for the order I wanted but didn't get. I thought I would at least give it a try since it's a new restaurant in town so I tried the food and it was nasty. No seasoning. Chewy steak. Cold food. I had to add stuff on my own just to make it edible. I would never go back here and you should consider other great restaurants nearby. 0/10 read more

Whoever gave this place 4 stars or better have poor taste in food. This is the 2nd time in my life where I left the plate as is. Food is bland and it was room temperature. Me and my husband came in with our son. We live down the street and saw this place had just opened and wanted to give it a try. The hostess was informative and sat us right away. We got the kids tenders for my son and I got the salmon special my partner ordered the ultimate grilled cheese. My son's food was lukewarm he did not even eat the tenders and partially the fry's. My husband's was also lukewarm. My salmon came out with the wrong side and I took one bite and the sides were undercooked. I did not feel comfortable to order something else and had only asked to send back the salmon and I'll just eat my sides. The manager Maria came back to my table with the salmon that was taken away. She had cut it in the middle and said that there was nothing wrong with the dish that it was actually over cooked and it was perfect. I had said the sides are white and undercooked and I would not like to take the fish back. She said right after that she could not take it off the bill. (I did not ask for it to be taken off) I asked for the check because of the level of unprofessionalism made me uncomfortable and two I did not want to eat anything else. When closing out the check I went up to her to let her know that it was very rude of her to do that and she touched me and said she didn't mean to make me feel uncomfortable. I definitely don't recommend this location the manager Maria was so rude. Don't order the salmon. read more

My family and I are avid Sunday breakfast people and were recently given a gift card for this place we had never heard of. I'm always skeptical of new breakfast restaurants but this place was awesome. It has the vibes of a First Watch with the standard suburb breakfast place menu. We enjoyed an excellent service from one of the servers. She was very friendly, attentive, and professional. However, when we paid the bill at the cashier, a female manager was very rude to us. She was very mad at our server, because the server made a mistake on our bill. Our bill was supposed to be around $68, instead our server mistakenly charged us only $66 or so. What a big deal!! The manager was giving a coach-and-counseling to our server for her tiny mistake in front of us. Also, the manager gave us such a bad attitude, because she missed to collect "an extra $2" from us. The female manager didn't say "thank you" or "please come back," or didn't even smile when we left the restaurant. It was the first time for us to go there and it will be the last time FOR SURE. read more

i'm not typically the type to leave reviews, but this place is simply outstanding. the portion sizes are huge and the prices are reasonable. we always leave satisfied and with heaps of leftovers. the food is comforting and the menu has a boatload of options aswell. additionally, the service is impeccable. all employees are genuinely welcoming and attentive. i highly recommend checking this place out. it's worth it a million times over. my favorite is the gyro plate if you're into mediterranean dishes. read more
