Things like truffle infused hollandaise, fried green tomato BLT, pairing balsamic with goat cheese, a blackened pork, even mushrooms on the breakfast menu all hint that people developing their menu are confident in their skills in offering something more when it comes to breakfast plates and sandwiches. Their homemade aiolis (highly recommend their pesto aioli) and hot sauce tie any dish together-- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Things made to this quality are not to be unremarked. Came in with friends so we can try everything on their menu, and we were pleasantly surprised on all fronts. Presentation, ingredients, preparation all elements that made our meals great and were evident across all dishes ranging from protein to carb. Details like toasted bread with already spread with butter, perfectly poached eggs, and brioche as the bun of choice were things we peeped. We would have left satisfied if these details weren't accounted for, but we were so impressed this became a revisit during our short vacation. Their space is greatly spacious, with an open drinks station so its just not pretentious. There is even a section in the front to pick up goods made by local artisans. Prices are very reasonable! If you just want a single flavor, I actually recommend getting 1 scoop - the portion size was honestly similar to the 2 scoops in the end so it seems like a better deal to me. If you want different flavors, go for the 2 scoops or more. You can sample different flavors in store. My only negative is that I don't believe the ice cream is made in-house -- looks like it might be sourced from Hershey's according to their ice cream containers. Stopped into Tastee Freez (or The Freeze) on a Friday for an early lunch. I was the only one…read morewalking inside to order around 11:00am. The interior was clean and bright. There is outdoor seating as well as a walk-up exterior order window. I stood and reviewed the menu and waited and waited and waited. The folks behind the counter looked and saw me a few times without ever acknowledging me. Eventually one woman told another woman that she had to go to the front. And let me tell you, she the woman who came to the counter was NOT happy about having to take my order. I've felt warmer corpses. To be fair, a regular came in after me and the cashier lit up like a firework so maybe it's just me. I ordered a chili dog and a BLT. Both were just ok. The chili on the hot dog was deep brown in color and had good flavor. The BLT was basic. Not sure I'll see myself returning to this Tastee Freez in the future.
