    Hamachi Avocado Roll

Eaten in and gotten take out a few times. Came in on a Friday evening and the fish was especially fresh and tasty. We loved the sashimi combo, super great value, the hamachi avocado roll, and the Dragon roll. didn't get it tonight but their assorted tempura is awesome - actually all of their tempura is great, made to order. Great value!

This place is really good, I was really friendly staff. They let us get a table for dinner 15 minutes before opening, and even allow us to use the employees only restroom. The sushi was good, I ordered the traditional spicy tuna roll, lion king role, and another specialty role. The flavor was great, the fish was fresh, my one complaint is that the sushi sizes were on the smaller side. For the price of each roll, I would've hoped they would be a bit bigger and more filling. Endless tea which was delicious.

We ordered the kaisen futo-maki, chicken karage, and premium sushi plate. Loved each item so much and everything came out in a timely manner despite the place being busy. The chef is detailed in his craft. I loved watching him put together the sashimi platter, adorning the fish with shiso, kelp, and sunomono. To drink, I tried the gluten free beer which I don't often see on menus, and was pleasantly surprised at how crisp and refreshing the taste was. We ordered a variety of sushi and also hot foods to try. We enjoyed all of the dishes we ordered. Looking back, I'm not sure if I had complaints about any particular one. I think the agedashi tofu is artfully done. I'm a long time ageda fan, while my boyfriend is iffy on it, but this one he thoroughly enjoyed. The fried fish with the house-made tartar sauce was a great appetizer to start off the meal. As for the fish, very fresh and quality. It was fun pairing the different sashimi with the variety of accoutrements like the shiso, lemon, and kelp. Service was fantastic as well. Overall, a lovely dinner experience and I would recommend others to visit Sushi Ran.

So good we came back twice over Mother's Day weekend…read more On Friday the wait was 15 minutes, and the food came out quickly. We were hungry and in a rush to get to our boat rental and didn't even notice the specials. We got the red chowder, white chowder, soft shell bao tacos, fish tacos, pasta con vongole, and Louie salad for a group of 5. We took everything to go and had it on the boat. Everything was great especially the white chowder, fish tacos, and soft shell crab bao tacos, except the pasta con vongole was too salty. After looking at the pictures we decided we have to come back on Saturday. On Saturday the wait was 50 minutes, and the line went all the way around the fence. So many of the specials including the whole fish, which we went back for, got taken off of the list while we were waiting...tragic. If you're going on the weekend beware!! We ate in at the restaurant this time as we didn't have a reservation to get to. The outside was pretty hot and there's some seating inside and also in an adjacent room that nobody seemed to notice. We were still able to get 2 specials: rockfish ceviche and dumplings. The dumplings were so good - their homemade chili sauce is sweet and a mild spicy that builds. Rockfish was a bit lime-y, but a delicacy nonetheless. I would definitely come back on a weekday to enjoy the specials again!

The service was amazing, and the ordering process was simple--just pay first and then enjoy your meal. The oysters were definitely the highlight of the visit. If you're a seafood lover, you must try a dozen oysters--they were fresh, delicious, and absolutely worth ordering. We will definitely be coming back again. We enjoyed: * Saigon Salmon Sandwich * Soft Shell Bao Tacos * 1 Dozen Oysters Everything was flavorful and well-prepared. Between the fresh seafood, relaxing waterfront views, and friendly service, this was a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

I saw an Instagram ad for half off the rodizio experience on Memorial Day and had to make a…read morereservation. Matt had been talking about Brazilian steakhouse every time he saw something that reminded him remotely of Fogo de Chao, so I figured this opportunity might be of interest to him. Come to find out that the day after I make the reservation he asks if I'd be willing to go a Brazilian steakhouse for the long weekend, so I got to surprise him with the fact that I already had a reservation. I'm not the biggest fan of Fogo de Chao based on my prior experiences there. I do believe that I have been to a Show de Carnes location before and had another great experience, but also Show de Carnes's Memorial Day promotion was slightly better than Fogo's and I much preferred that their location was outside of the city even if on the other side of the bridge. I did have to call the morning of to delay our reservation slightly, but it was taken care of for us without hassle. We even got seated closer to the original reservation time when we ended up running early. There isn't much space to wait in the front lobby area especially on a packed night, but everything looks very upscale from the wine bottles on the wall to the crystals above the self-serve side buffet. As far as mandatory meats, I have a couple of personal rules when it comes to Brazilian steakhouse, including go light on the sides and only go for the beef. Picanha is my favorite, extra rare too, so I made myself a whole pincanha meat salad while probably giving the guy cutting the meat a good scare. The grilled pineapple is also a must, followed by the cheese and honey. Matt got a lot more variety but it takes a while for the guys to come around with meat that has already been sliced up some so I can get to the parts that I like. We got a papaya cream and passion fruit mousse for dessert, which we probably really didn't need but enjoyed thoroughly as we are both dessert people. As it was a busy night, it was not too easy to flag a server down. I saw picanhas skip our table left and right so I'm not sure there's an established route for them to bring the meat around. The staff did seem to work together with great teamwork, and someone always stopped by to make sure we had more water and our choice of sides. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone that is a protein or all you can eat fan. The regular price per person is definitely steep in my humble opinion, but if you can catch a promo it'll be a great time. Also, don't choose between still or sparkling, ask for tap. I will not be getting got again next time.
