So I highly recommend to bring cash if you were to visit. The toasted bun came out and we were a little surprised. We were expecting something more special or fancier, but it is literally toasted bread with condensed milk. I feel scammed since I could probably make this at home with less than $1 cost. The mango drink was okay. The mangos are a little hard but it's understandable since it's not the season. Overall, the two things we ordered were both super average. One of my best local gem with awesome Taiwanese deserts and drinks! Best part of this place is that it closes late, and they've got some nice warm tomato soup with many types of noodles to choose from. The food also feels gentle to eat at night. They aren't too salty nor too sweet, always perfect for me. Many of the items are handmade like the crepe layered matcha cakes which is pretty cool. The place is child friendly with great service. Do aware that some of their warm deserts take about 15 minutes to prepare, so you'll need about 45 mins for your meal. So the sesame paste is at the bottom and the steamed milk pudding is on top, but steamed together. My friend had this and I definitely would order it next time I'm back. This has been a stable to us for years. It has been a spot to go to after fellowships, dinner, or fot afternoon snack. We finally paid our visit after they reopened for indoor dining. The ordering process was slightly different but it didn't change our support to this place. Tofu Gelato was as good as usual. From the outside, the bright colors immediately grab your attention and you walk in and find yourself in a whimsical place complete with cone chaped tables, plastic clouds and toy airplane lighting. Sure she indulged my mom to taste the red bean, black sesame and green tea flavors. Mom ended up choosing a scoop of the pistachio but it tasted medicinal and aritificial. Their mint chocolate chip is okay, but of course, nothing tops Bi-Rite's version which is more creamier. I wanted a hot dessert so I got the sago with taro pieces and coconut milk ($3.75) it was sweet enough for my liking, but they skimped on the taro pieces. I like taro. I wanted more taro. This is exactly how I was greeted as soon as I sat down at Sweet Indulgence on a very cold Friday night. The menu will overwhelm you because there are so many desserts to select from. I couldn't exactly decide what I was craving for, so just like any normal person I decided to order three desserts: vanilla Mille crepe, litchi framboise and mango Macau pudding. All very light tasting, all very delicious. The only thing I do not like about this place is the seating arrangement. Stools are great for drinks only, but not when you're eating food that requires a set of utensils. I also felt like I was being watched by other people seated around me. Quaint little Hong Kong-style desert place in Millbrae I've been going to this store a few times now, and the quality is very consistent. The place has been around for as long as I can remember, which is pretty long for these type of desert places (they usually exchange ownership quite quickly). It has just the right amount of spicy ginger, the egg is soft and creamy and the sweet hotness down my throat is so soothing. For those hot days, and for that ultra refreshing dessert, I'll order the, "Mix Your Own Dessert" option. Follow these 3 steps: 1) Choose a juice base. I love the watermelon juice as it's not too sweet. There is also papaya, honeydew, cantaloupe, coconut milk, kiwi, mango & strawberry juice as other possibilities. 2) Choose one of the following: grass jelly, crystal jelly, sago, tofu pudding & coconut noodle. I love the sago which looks and feels like small chewy balls, but in reality, it is a starch that is extracted from the center of tropical palms. I love this place just because it is so convenient to where I live and when I need my HK dessert fix, this is the place. It has such a large selections of different kind of Hong Kong style desserts. Some are good and some just should be left alone. For the most part, my BF and I often go here after dinner when we feel like something less filling, fatten, and irrestibly tasty. Their desserts are mainly comprised of fruits, tapioca, tofu, mung and red beans, slushy and the list goes on and on.... I like their hot desserts which on any given night is warm and soothing and good for you. Though you have to wait a good 15 minutes or more. But it is worth the wait. Anything that says "delight" is not my cup of tea. I will end at that. They do have a nice selections of small eats. In terms, it just simply mean small dishes like noodles, fried chicken, and small finger foods. They are ok and less to be desired. I would just stick to desserts. The place is very colorful and cute. Small like round tables surrounded by colorful looking stool-like chairs. Been here a few times pre-pandemic and service was always slow. Dessert was good. Today was the worse! I wasn't even able to stop by. I double checked the hours along with seeing the posted hours on the door. Today: 1pm-930pm. Went there at 1pm, doors were locked. Went there at 2pm (cause if I were to order online, it gave me a time range of only 2pm-930pm). That sketched me out because house do they know when someone still stop by?? What if I ordered online? Would I have to wait till dinner time if they open to get it? i came here with my gf for dessert after a scrumptious lunch 'cuz we needed just a little something sweet on our palettes. this little cafe is located in downtown millbrae...who knew there was a downtown millbrae? apparently the strip of broadway b/w victoria and taylor is known to locals as the downtown/bustling area since there's a ton of shoppes, local businesses, restaurants and cafes. we came on sat afternoon around 1500 and the cafe was fairly empty...good for us since we had a choice of seating and the full attention of the wait staff! i ordered the mille crepe cake which was a multi-layer cake with super thin slices sandwiched between vanilla bean custard. this was absolutely delicious! i took my time enjoying each bite of delicate, thin layers with creamy filling. my friend ordered the mango yogurt which was a pyramid-shaped cup filled with caramelized mango chunks, mango mousse, vanilla yogurt pudding, and mango compote. it was a beautifully crafted dessert with layers of vibrant colours and textures. i had a bite and it was silky smooth and heavenly! if you're a mango lover, this dessert is for you! the total was about $13 for both desserts, a little high for the quantity, but i imagine this was mostly due to the presentation and unique quality of the desserts. i did really appreciate the presentation and the taste was definitely outstanding. service was prompt and very friendly. there's a single stall restroom in the rear, key required for access. you can park on the street or in the city parking lot...there are some timed spaces, so just be sure to check, or risk getting a ticket! read more

I'm not sure what is up with the negative reviews. I thought this place was 5* all the way. My SF friend brought me here for desert while I was visiting town for a conference. The interior is bright and super clean. They also have several small sculptures/displays of traditional Asian street carts and dining scenes. The little sugarcane stall was absolutely adorable! A perfect replica of what you see in Asia. I was so sad they are not for sale :( . Came here with my boyfriend yesterday night around 10pm and there was almost no one there. We ordered the lychee framboise, takoyaki and aloe with mango juice drink. Lychee Framboise - I didn't try the lychee framboise but my boyfriend liked it, said it was good with the raspberry filling inside. But do notice that it's pretty small, maybe around 3-4 inches diameter. Takoyaki - The takoyaki was good, it just tastes like every other takoyaki though I wish they gave a bigger portion since there's only 4 in that dish. Aloe Mango Juice - The aloe mango juice was interesting. It actually tasted like I was eating a mango, the texture was there and you can even taste the sourness of the fruit.
