Very sweet things at sweet Karma in Plainview NY in a shopping center off of Manetto Hill Road. They have a s'more like cake and the marshmallows on top are toasted caramelized brown. It has really good chocolate and consistency. I thought I'd asked for one white cupcake but I got a chocolate one. Though the server did look and repeat my order. So I must have been so taken with the Chocolate that I'd chosen that one. I didn't see too many things with whip cream most were buttercream . Donuts , cupcakes and more. I'll have to go and try some others at another visit.

My complements to Amanda & Ryan ..they were very helpful, friendly and patient, the doughnuts were absolutely delicious, fresh and soft, we loved the crème brûlée, s'mores , cannoli were great, and we were impressed with the incredible Dubai chocolate, with pistachio & kandaif , creamy melts in your mouth , they also have a gluten free availability, they were recognized by Long Island Best, and they deserved the accolades ...also try the Lemon, meringue, and strawberry shortcake

There was mold in the domes and the cupcakes. Both were stale. The cupcakes were hard as a rock and actual mold at the bottom. The domes had mold under the frosting. This is not what I wanted to give my friend to celebrate her birthday. She had to make herself throw up after realizing she ate mold! Just awful!

Sweet Karma has DELICIOUS gluten free options! I have tried their gluten free cookies - sugar cookies + chocolate chip options, donuts and cupcakes and they are exquisite! Highly recommend Sweet Karma for your gluten & gluten free sweet delights!

My mother in law ordered my baby shower cake from Sweet Karma, based on the online reviews (we had never tried any of their food before!). Fortunately they did a great job. Their decorating skills are quite clearly top notch, as seen by the photo of my cake. They also did a great flavor wise making a gluten free vanilla cake with strawberry frosting. My mother in law picked it up the day before the shower and it still tasted fresh. All the cake was eaten before the end of the party, so I know even my gluten eating guests enjoy it. My husband took home the fondant bear from the top to snack on and I have to say, it's delicious. I am very impressed with their work and would return for other special event desserts.

Door dash delivery left a pie in a box right on the floor, no bag!

Ordered on Door Dash for a neighbor and was very disappointed by how the item was delivered (see photo). The pie was not in a bag and was just left in the box on the floor. During this time where we are supposed to be extra careful, it's a little surprising that this would be sent without a bag. A loose box could attract bugs etc. - just odd. As for the the pie, I didn't get the report back from them yet but the bakery seems good from the other reviews - just be wary if you are getting delivery! Maybe it's door dash's fault but all items should be sent properly sealed and in a bag with a safety seal during these covid times! UPDATE: My neighbor said the pecan pie was delicious! So go to the bakery - just don't get delivery!

I LOVE desserts and I'm always craving for something sweet. I actually found this bakery when I searched for "dessert delivery". I mean what's better than having dessert delivered to you when you are at work? When I saw they had rainbow cookie cupcakes, I just KNEW I had hit the jackpot. They have quite a selection of cupcakes, donuts, cookies, whole cakes... you name it! They even have gluten free and vegan options, which is wonderful b/c we need more GF and vegan options when it comes to desserts. The one thing I was concerned about was the packaging. I was ordering through doordash, and I know the drivers aren't going to handle my cupcakes with the gentleness I would. Desserts don't usually travel well and what a waste of a cupcake if I can't take a picture and show it off. When I received my order however, I was pleasantly surprised. Sweet Karma has the best packaging for cupcakes ~ see my photos. Each cupcake was put in a cupcake holder type of container. That way, they don't move and 1/2 the icing isn't ruined. The same with their donuts. Definitely a plus here! I never been to the actual store so I can't speak on their customer service but I'll definitely make it there one day. Everything I ordered from them was delicious, no complaints at all (except all the extra calories). I think a cupcake is definitely worth the extra 20 minutes on the Peloton!

Was looking for a special place that could do exactly what I wanted. Friendly staff, last minute order and they were able to accommodate my request and came up with a fantastic cake- an exact copy of a cake that I sent them if not better. Red velvet sponge was perfectly layered and had good flavor, the only thing I did not like was the icing on the outside, I might just choose something else next time, but it was not really a big deal. I also grabbed some delicious hot cocoa bombs with caramel and marshmallow. Very pleased!

Thank you to sweet karma desserts For making the perfect birthday cake for my parents 80th birthday party, and in only one week order time! I am so glad that I found out about you in the nick of time and I was able two have this cake made which was not only delicious but priced where I needed it to be! It was so beautiful that it was a shame to eat! I also picked up some gluten-free cupcakes while I was there for those party guests who could not eat the cake, and they were quite happy with them! everyone asked where the cake was from and I highly recommend your bakery to everyone now that I know about you and the beautiful work that you do. Want to thank Brian Fishman from SweetKarma Desserts-Plainview for all the beautiful cakes that he has made for us in the past . One of the cake's that we requested was such a pleasant surprise.....it was for our son whom graduated to a Suffolk County police officer. All our cakes not only were they beautifully crafted but deliciously tasty. The last one was for our grandson's 1st birthday Lion king theme.....it was such a hit! The loveliest little bakery! Such a wide selection and everything looked amazing. Words can't describe how we absolutely rave about Sweet Karma and Brian. My daughter recently had her wedding. The venue's cake maker neglected to make her 3 tiered wedding cake. The venue was made aware only 1 hour before. Our gracious lady got into action and ended up calling Brian for a favor. And oh boy, did he show up! Not just a cake but a gorgeous and very scrumptious 3 tiered one as well. Little did everyone know at the time that Brian made my daughter's sweet 16, HS graduation, College Graduation and Engagement party cakes. Serendipity...it happened the way it was willed to happen. Our first thought in planning this wedding was for Sweet Karma to make the cake. I wish I have a photo of the cake but I was too busy partying to get one. It was a wedding with 220 people in attendance. read more

Just wanted to recognize the amazing work of this bakery in Plainview, Long Island. Not only did they do a spectacular job making the perfect Mets theme cake for my husband's 60th birthday but their customer service is above and beyond. You really feel how important it is to them to get the design right for you. The best part is it tasted just as good as it looked! Picked up this cake.. the worst I've seen for 180$. I'm so disappointed that I didn't even try it yet. I literally just picked it up. There's a crease.. the thing looks like a hat.. and the cut out looks like my child did it. I make better cakes at work. Maybe they only specialize in structures cause this shit sure ain't it. Never will go here or refer anyone to come get a cake. Manager tried to argue on the phone that it's my fault for not saying something right there and then.. I wasn't there and my mom couldn't say anything. She's not that way. I understand what she means.. but at least have some compassion. For almost $200 you should be a little more helpful. In response to the owner if I cant trust you with a $200 cake I'm not trusting you with a $500 cake. It was to my understanding it was an edible image. If you have to explain that much to me. Your clearly wrong. read more

My mom had been working with Sweet Karma Desserts since my Sweet 16th (I am 30 years old now). Brian has been making cakes for almost every milestone in my life (16th birthday, HS graduation, college graduation, and graduation cake). My wedding was on 10/8/2022. My venue has a partnership with another local baker to make a cake for our wedding. 2 hours before our reception, the venue director comes to find out that the baker did NOT have my cake or event in her books. Thankfully, because of her connections she was able to get a cake made an HOUR before my reception. A cake made by Brian at Sweet Karma Desserts! What a coincidence! And another milestone with this bakery. I am so thankful for Sweet Karma and for coming to save my wedding! The cake was beautiful, and tasted as amazing as I remembered! How is this place higher than 3 stars? A lot of their friends are reviewing probably. I should have known with their "Best of Long Island" sign, which is a popularity contest and has nothing to do with most establishments. Literally every bakery item we purchased was old, bland, or mediocre at best. There are so many better bakeries around. And for service, the kid working didn't want to be bothered. definitely the best bakery by far. i'm not a big review person but this place deserves my time. i've been getting custom cakes, pastries and all types of pies and sweets from here for about 4 years now. maybe more. i've never been let down. every detail i've asked for has always been done to perfection, plus some! not to mention, the prices are extremely reasonable also. taste of each cake has always been so good. like very fresh and just perfect. some places make cakes that look great but taste crappy. but these have always looked and tasted even better. brian and the rest of the staff have always been so nice. very friendly and talkative. never once rushed me off the phone or even out of the bakery. i saw a previous review saying they felt rushed, and i think that's complete BS lol. anyway ... here's some photos of my families cakes i had made. perrrfect !!! thanks sweet karma! read more

Yum! I've been wanting to try this place out for a while and I'm so glad I finally had a reason to come pick up a cake here. I had the rainbow cookie cake which was covered in a thick chocolate coating. The cake itself was so moist and so flavorful. The raspberry filling inbetween each layer was absolutely perfect. The only thing I could do without was the chocolate coating. The chocolate was good, but there was so much of it, it really took away from the rest of the cake. Regardless, it was still one of the best cakes I've ever had. Maybe it's cause we came late in the day, but the girl was a little short with us and didn't really want to help us. There aren't any signs as to what cake was what, so of course we asked and everytime she just got a little ruder. Aside from the service, we'll be back for sure. The cake was $25 and was more than enough for 6 people. Great prices and delicious cake! read more

We came here for the gluten free items and they did not disappoint!!! Everything was delicious and soo fresh! The rainbow cookies were my favorite and the mini apple pie was a close second. The rugelach (jelly cookies) were delicious too! Oh my goodness, and can't forget about the cannoli stuffed rainbow cookies!! That filling is to die for. I will be back for the gluten free cider donuts in the fall! read more

I have been going to Sweet Karma for over 15 years, since they were in East Meadow. Any birthday, anniversary, special occasion, or just a Sunday Family Dinner, we have been enjoying cakes, pastries & treats. Not only is Brian & his wife Jenn the nicest people on the planet, but the desserts are always fresh, always delicious, and everyone always asks "Where did you get this?". I recommend Sweet Karma Bakery to everyone & everyone that I cross paths with, if they are looking for amazing desserts. So many places can make nice looking cakes and/or desserts, but do not deliver in flavor, either are too sweet or are just terrible. Sweet Karma's desserts & cakes are not only beautiful, but taste good and make you want to come back over & over again. read more

If I could give this 0 stars I would. Horrible experinece with the manager/owner. They dont know how to talk to customers. The cake was horrible and overpriced. Ordered a custom cake, went back to let owner know that I did not like the cake. She brought the cake to the back and said "we all tried it and it tastes fine." I asked for credit of my $75 and was only offered a $20 credit. Do yourself a favor a don't go to sweet karma. STAY AWAY!!!! There are other MUCH better bakeries that would habe treated a customer much better & the cake would taste much better read more

We got a cake for our wedding (5/8/21) from this place because my wife is gluten free. I can say not only was it one of the worst gluten free cakes I have ever eaten, but they completely lost our cake topper, which was given to them over a week in advance. They did not say 1 word to us about it and just brought the cake thinking we were stupid and wouldn't notice. Obviously my wife was devistated on our big day (thanks so much for that one). When I called I was basically given the run around and told that a manager would give me a call back. I'm still waiting to hear from someone. Bad cake and bad customer service means bad business. Needless to say I'll never order from them again and will not be recommending them either. read more

I guess I just had a bad luck coz bought an almond square cake at $2.50 as a treat for my son since he behaved so well at Doctor s office. It was so sad he only had a couple of bites then turned it away and said:"Mommy, no more I don't like it." To my surprise that he loves sweets, how could that be? It turned out the square almond top had spoiled oil smell and tasted funny too. What a shame! read more

I worked exclusively with Teresa the cake designer on my wedding cake and was so happy to have her feedback and ideas. I not only ordered the wedding cake but also a grooms cake from SKD as well. Our guests loved not only the whimsy of the design but also the Carrot Cake/Cream Cheese combo and the Chocolate/Peanut butter mousse of the grooms cake. My husband and I are beyond happy with all the great service and and experiences we had with Sweet Karma Desserts I would highly recommend you going there for any occasion. Had multiple gluten-free items. I always pick up way too many things when I come here. Had the chocolate chocolate cake. Chocolate mousse on top and fudge on bottom. This cake is a lot more enjoyable if it's chilled. Trust me. Try it. Tiramisu was amazing. Chocolate mousse dome also thoroughly enjoyable Macaroons are not really my thing. But the wifey loves it. Thank you so much Teresa and Brian for making my daughter's Sweet 16 cake and push up favors. The ombré purple was beautiful and the 2 cakes were delicious . We had red velvet with a cannoli cream and vanilla with a vanilla/chocolate pastry cream. Every single guest ate cake and raved about it! This is our third custom cake ordered at Sweet Karma and we couldn't be more thrilled with the results. Each time we have been blown away with the creations! Today's cake was for my sister's baby shower. We ordered the cake with Brian and showed him a few inspiration photos of what we were looking for. He went above and beyond! Whenever we are in Plainview we always stop in for pastries and macaroons. Their GF selection is delicious- you can't taste the difference. VERY OVERPRICED and poor customer service. Charged $180.00 for a sheet cake with an edible photo on it (like you get at a supermarket). I left a 50% deposit (I regret that!) & called 20 minutes later to cancel the order because I found the same thing for $85.00 less at a better bakery nearby & the manager refused to refund my deposit! She was very rude & refused to even listen to anything I had to say. They have definitely lost my business (& I had spent money there many times). read more

I've been buying from Sweet Karma since they were in East Meadow. I thought they had closed, until one day I saw them in Plainview. Super happy I did. Everything is always super fresh and tasty. My wife loves the chocolate indulgence, personally, I'm a fan of the peanut butter and jelly pyramids. They have delicious mini cakes, cup cakes and cookies. They also have speciality cakes, which I can't comment on as I haven't had them. Highly recommend trying them out. read more

Sweet Karma Desserts is a great destination for those times when you just need to have the best dessert imaginable. Cakes, cookies and confections are our specialty. Cakes for all occasions, from the fun, to the fancy and the everyday. We also have a large assortment of great tasting Gluten Free pastries, cakes and French Macarons. Selections vary daily.

History

Established in 2003.

Sweet Karma was started through the philosophy that great cakes, cookies and pastries should be had by all. We started in a small corner shop in East Meadow. A decade was spent cultivating a neighborhood relationship and attracting customers from all over Long Island, which included many high end restaurants, hotels, country clubs and elite catering facilities. It was time to expand and a new location was found in Plainview, 136 Manetto Hill Road in the Manetto Hill Shopping Center. Now with a larger retail display area and more product offerings in a beautifully decorated showroom of sweets. We are in business to make people happy through Sweet Karma.

Meet the Business Owner: Brian F.

Brian, our cake artist has been in the Foodservice industry for well over 20 years. He has spent time honing his craft with some of NY's top Pastry Chefs, Bakers and Restauranteurs. Brian was the Pastry Chef at such noted establishments as Panama Hatties, Blue Water Grill and the entire BR Guest restaurant group as well as some time spent in Washington DC at Les Halles and Occasion Caterers. After years of experimenting and perfecting his recipes he felt is was time to open his own place and provide some Sweet Karma.

I need to write this because I can't believe what I just witnessed. I was there picking up desserts and a man comes in to pick up an order that his wife placed. He gave them the wrong description of the item he was picking up so the girl went back out to clarify with him and he started yelling at her. She went back to get his order to put in the box and he started ranting that his order wasn't ready and that he'd been waiting 20 minutes. He then started to comment at the poor customer service. They told him that his order was ready and that they didn't usually do the item he was getting so let's be thankfully and to have a nice weekend. This was said 2 or 3 times but he just couldn't get past his anger. Well, he just didn't stop so the manger told him to send his wife to pick it up since he being so rude. He then kept threatening to call the Suffolk County police if he did not leave with his order. Right away he started with I live in the community and I am not done with you and started threatening with ruining their business on the internet. I'm just done with people bullying others and the way the get upset/angry with how then the other persons responses. Thanks for letting me vent!! I hope this man's day gets better and he can reflect on his poor behavior. read more

Very disappointing. Although Teresa was nice and understanding at first the cake was not at all what we ordered. There was much communication and we chose a cake from the website to ensure exactly what we wanted. When we called there was no follow up and upon going to the store today I was asked to come back I Sunday when the owner wasn't in. Got half money back because I wouldn't leave but it didn't make up for the cake that was not as ordered and terrible disappointment at a party with 40 guests.m Received a nasty email from the owner.
