Very sweet things at sweet Karma in Plainview NY in a shopping center off of Manetto Hill Road. They have a s'more like cake and the marshmallows on top are toasted caramelized brown. It has really good chocolate and consistency. I thought I'd asked for one white cupcake but I got a chocolate one. Though the server did look and repeat my order. So I must have been so taken with the Chocolate that I'd chosen that one. I didn't see too many things with whip cream most were buttercream . Donuts , cupcakes and more. I'll have to go and try some others at another visit.

My complements to Amanda & Ryan ..they were very helpful, friendly and patient, the doughnuts were absolutely delicious, fresh and soft, we loved the crème brûlée, s'mores , cannoli were great, and we were impressed with the incredible Dubai chocolate, with pistachio & kandaif , creamy melts in your mouth , they also have a gluten free availability, they were recognized by Long Island Best, and they deserved the accolades ...also try the Lemon, meringue, and strawberry shortcake

There was mold in the domes and the cupcakes. Both were stale. The cupcakes were hard as a rock and actual mold at the bottom. The domes had mold under the frosting. This is not what I wanted to give my friend to celebrate her birthday. She had to make herself throw up after realizing she ate mold! Just awful!

Sweet Karma has DELICIOUS gluten free options! I have tried their gluten free cookies - sugar cookies + chocolate chip options, donuts and cupcakes and they are exquisite! Highly recommend Sweet Karma for your gluten & gluten free sweet delights!

My mother in law ordered my baby shower cake from Sweet Karma, based on the online reviews (we had never tried any of their food before!). Fortunately they did a great job. Their decorating skills are quite clearly top notch, as seen by the photo of my cake. They also did a great flavor wise making a gluten free vanilla cake with strawberry frosting. My mother in law picked it up the day before the shower and it still tasted fresh. All the cake was eaten before the end of the party, so I know even my gluten eating guests enjoy it. My husband took home the fondant bear from the top to snack on and I have to say, it's delicious. I am very impressed with their work and would return for other special event desserts.

Door dash delivery left a pie in a box right on the floor, no bag!

Ordered on Door Dash for a neighbor and was very disappointed by how the item was delivered (see photo). The pie was not in a bag and was just left in the box on the floor. During this time where we are supposed to be extra careful, it's a little surprising that this would be sent without a bag. A loose box could attract bugs etc. - just odd. As for the the pie, I didn't get the report back from them yet but the bakery seems good from the other reviews - just be wary if you are getting delivery! Maybe it's door dash's fault but all items should be sent properly sealed and in a bag with a safety seal during these covid times! UPDATE: My neighbor said the pecan pie was delicious! So go to the bakery - just don't get delivery!

I LOVE desserts and I'm always craving for something sweet. I actually found this bakery when I searched for "dessert delivery". I mean what's better than having dessert delivered to you when you are at work? When I saw they had rainbow cookie cupcakes, I just KNEW I had hit the jackpot. They have quite a selection of cupcakes, donuts, cookies, whole cakes... you name it! They even have gluten free and vegan options, which is wonderful b/c we need more GF and vegan options when it comes to desserts. The one thing I was concerned about was the packaging. I was ordering through doordash, and I know the drivers aren't going to handle my cupcakes with the gentleness I would. Desserts don't usually travel well and what a waste of a cupcake if I can't take a picture and show it off. When I received my order however, I was pleasantly surprised. Sweet Karma has the best packaging for cupcakes ~ see my photos. Each cupcake was put in a cupcake holder type of container. That way, they don't move and 1/2 the icing isn't ruined. The same with their donuts. Definitely a plus here! I never been to the actual store so I can't speak on their customer service but I'll definitely make it there one day. Everything I ordered from them was delicious, no complaints at all (except all the extra calories). I think a cupcake is definitely worth the extra 20 minutes on the Peloton!

Was looking for a special place that could do exactly what I wanted. Friendly staff, last minute order and they were able to accommodate my request and came up with a fantastic cake- an exact copy of a cake that I sent them if not better. Red velvet sponge was perfectly layered and had good flavor, the only thing I did not like was the icing on the outside, I might just choose something else next time, but it was not really a big deal. I also grabbed some delicious hot cocoa bombs with caramel and marshmallow. Very pleased!

Hats off to Brian (and my apologies for this long over-due review). I was in a bit of a bind. My neighbor had committed to baking a cake for my father's 90th b-day and then backed out a week before the party. My wife went to school with Brian, and since Sweet Karma was near where we had to be I gave them a call. And I'm glad I did! Being from NJ, I emailed some cake designs to Brian, who was very responsive and provided a variety of different options that could be done, given my price range and available time. When I went to pick up the cake, Brian told me that he made some changes to the design. At first I was like 'Uh, oh...' until he explained that the design elements that I truly wanted -- the icons depicting some of the major events in my father's life -- would have been lost with my original design. Then he revealed the cake, and I was thrilled. He was absolutely right, and I loved the changes he made. His interpretation of my vision was spot-on. The decorations were very realistic looking and the cake was delicious. Even better than that was the reaction from my father and family, who couldn't help but crowd around and take pictures. The cake was the centerpiece of the party and everyone thought it was outstanding. Kudos to Brian for saving the day and for delivering a great product. I know that some people might question his decision to change my design - indeed, that's unusual. But it really showed that Brian is an artist (whose medium is cake), and not just a baker. If I have the opportunity I would absolutely patronize Sweet Karma again, and I'm not afraid to recommend it to my LI-based friends. read more

Wow. It doesn't happen often but I am blown away by Sweet Karma. I called VERY last minute and am very grateful for their help. The customer service was amazing - I pretty much had them design the cake - but the cake was absolutely delicious! I received so many compliments on both the look and taste of it. I purchased a 6'' butter cream cake with mango filling for my mom's birthday last week. The folks at SKD were very accommodating with our custom order. Not only was the cake light, fluffy and delicious, it was beautifully decorated and reasonably priced. My mom said it was the best cake she ever tasted! Sweet Karma did an absolutely fantastic job on the cake for my son's bar mitzvah. They went above and beyond what I expected. We had to change the date of the party due to a dying family member so they had to fit us in two weeks earlier than originally expected with just a few days notice and they somehow made it happen. They also made the most amazing casino themed cake that was the talk of the party. It was also completely delicious with several different types of filling despite the time crunch. So thankful that I chose such a fantastic bakery to do the job. read more

I have been using this bakery for years! My family and in laws have all used them for various special events and the bakery items have always been phenomenal. Hence why we return event after event! As with any business, there can be hiccups in the process. We ordered a cake for my mother in laws birthday as she loves their cakes and we knew they'd do a beautiful job. The cake was visually gorgeous. Unfortunately there was a rare (and I do mean rare because in using them for at least 7-8 years every cake was made exactly as promised if not better) mistake with a specific ingredient and the cake did not taste as it should have. Upon contacting them, the owner Brian communicated with his staff, explained what had happened to us, and not only offered a store credit to be used any time or broken up into however many individual items we wanted (it was a $110 cake), but he ultimately agreed to make a last minute cake for us for next weekend for a belated bday get together I planned for my toddler despite being booked. He put us first and made it right. I truly believe that a solid business will show who they are in how they own their mistakes which are always bound to happen. Sweet Karma shines once again. These Macarons! So fresh and chewy with a crisp shell - Yum yum yum!!! I ate one right at the register, they have CHURRO Macarons! Needless to say, it was delicious! The staff is kind and the sweets are sweet. I went in for a Birthday Cake and ended up picking the Rainbow Cookie cake. Mmm! It was so fresh! We could have done without the chocolate mousse layer on top, it distracted from the cake as it felt like - where did this come from? But the Rainbow layer portion was spot on! My husband and I had such a positive and happy experience using sweet karma as our bakery for ordering our gender reveal cake. They were genuinely excited for us, very speedy and professional, and amazingly friendly. They also had very fair pricing as other places I called are charging ridiculously exorbitant prices for a regular, simple cake with no frills literally white outside and sprinkles optional. Not sweet karma and they make very lovely cakes. I can't wait to taste and see what the cake reveals our baby will be! read more

This is THE BEST custom cake Bakery!! I can't even tell you how impressed I am with them! Theresa always takes my orders over the phone with no issue and I just email her a cake I want (usually a Pinterest picture) and it comes out EXACTLY as pictured if not better!! Brian and all of his minions at sweet karma desserts are good at lying, manipulating and being rude to their customers not only in person, but also on the phone. He speaks disrespectfully to women and won't ever man up and say that he made a mistake. He also must be color blind because he does not know the difference between blush and hot pink. Not only that, but communication is all but present at this shop. Customer service is terrible and they won't go the extra mile or do the right thing for your satisfaction. When we went back to pick up the cake after arguing and then proceeding to hang the phone up, little Brian saw me a man, get out of the car from the store window and ran into the back to avoid any confrontation. These workers also do not know the difference between real flowers and fake ones. The cake is not even that good. Do not make the mistake by calling Brian for a custom cake. Have some respect and dignity for paying customers. We chose to give you business and you made a fool out of yourself in exchange. read more

There is no use of gloves with any employees seen handling food and one staff members hair was hanging on the cake. On top of this She was extremely rude. I am a health care professional that would not recommend purchasing food from this bakery especially during the worst pandemic we have endured. read more

Had my gender reveal party cake done by Sweet Karma. I brought in a picture of what I wanted and the cake they made looked even more perfect than the picture. Not only was it elegant and beautiful, but my guests all raved about how creamy and decadent it tasted. Every guest had a slice of cake, which never happens ever. Let start by saying I cannot believe these people stay in business. I ordered a cake and when I picked it up, it looked nothing like the picture I sent them. He proceeded to tell me they don't copy anyone else's work with a bad attitude! They were not even apologetic! Complete disregard on how to fix the problem. Both him and his wife have a lot to learn about customer service! My 13 year old could've done a better job! These ppl are unprofessional! I would stay away. read more

I ordered my boyfriend's 30th birthday cake from here. They were very helpful in designing the cake and it came out beautifully! Theresa assisted me in ordering the right size and the filling. My first visit there. The chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies tasted a little dry and stale. Banana loaf cake was so, so. Dry. Apple tart - good Chocolate covered cheesecake tart - excellent! not heavy, light, not sweet. Maybe I'll come back to try the little different flavored custard cups. read more

Really amazing desserts!! My sister and I always come in and buy a small box full. The mini banana cream pies are delicious as well as the chocolate mousse desserts and the chocolate lava cakes! They also have a nice selection of gluten free desserts. Beautiful and delicious, stop by for a spot of dessert. The ladies will treat you well here. 5-plus stars if I could!! I called 2 days prior to needing a custom cake & was beyond blown away by what I picked up!! Besides thinking that a 40min drive was crazy to pick up the cake, I was very unfamiliar with the bakery. The girls I spoke with were overly helpful, the baker himself(I can't remember-Brian?! I'm so sorry!!) got on the phone to reassure me & get every detail & boy did he far surpass my expectations. Can't wait to have another function to use them again...but will def give them more notice next time!!! read more

Ok so ill give this place a 2. Only because 2 people other than the owner/baker must have assisted in making the cake. This is how my experience went: Ordered customed AVENGER cake on line with the owner Brian this past Monday. Tuesday morning received a phone call from the bakery and completed final details. Paid in full by credit card over the phone. Confirmed p/u time for 11:30 today. Today. Arrived to p/u not ready, waited 1 hr for cake. Party started at 12. Cake not like i wanted. Wasnt satisfied. WAS VERY UPSET BUT CALM. Got verbally attacked by owner, owners wife. Then ignored. They actually Video taped me. Wouldnt give me cake. Wanted waiver sign or wouldnt give me cake. Called me all kinds of names. Wasted his time. They should be ashamed of themselves. I left there in hysteria. They humiliated me and they were at fault. I had emails and pics of what had been emailed. I work out in the public, if this is how you treat your community, then go somewhere else. Below is an example of the 3 tier hulk cake the owner went by, the invitation he was suppose to reference and the finished cake. First I get upset and then I get angry. Social media plays a big part in how people patronize your business. Well social media also is a good way to get the word out about rude, beligerent people who take advantage of their customers for outrageous and did I mention ridiculous prices. Got an oreo chocolate cake delivered through doordash from Sweet Karma. The cake was sent frozen and when i called to find out if they have any fresh (aka not frozen) cakes available, i was told to let the cake thaw for an hour. IDK about you, but i get bakery cakes to get a freshly baked cake. The cake also seems old as the cake layers were dry and crumbly. Highly disappointed, somewhat embarassed. Would not order from here again. I'm sure custom cakes would be a different experience, but ordering "off the shelf" is not the way to go here. read more

I wanna start by saying that I have never ordered a custom cake from any bakery & found it so difficult at first to find a place that could make a great cake visually & also have it taste amazing. But Sweet Karma exceeded any expectation I had!! After looking at many reviews & visiting multiple Bakery's I decided to take a chance & order my sister's bridal shower cake from here after never even visiting this bakery once! Wow!! Starting off with my first visit, the shop is gorgeous & has so many cakes on display for you to see all of the amazing cakes they have done already. The counter girl was very helpful in helping us decide the flavors for the cake & guiding us on what worked best! The price was very reasonable for how detailed & big our cake was. When we picked up the cake the lady helped us bring the heavy cake to our car & was super helpful & friendly. Our guests could not stop raving about how great the cake looked & also how amazing it tasted!! If you are looking for a place for a custom cake or any sweets look no further!!! I can't even begin to say how much I love this bakery. Teresa & her crew have been creating my 3D cakes for almost a decade. Their cakes are beautiful works of art, delicious in every bite & so reasonably priced. They are all extremely wonderful people. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my baked goods. read more

Sweet Karma Desserts is a great destination for those times when you just need to have the best dessert imaginable. Cakes, cookies and confections are our specialty. Cakes for all occasions, from the fun, to the fancy and the everyday. We also have a large assortment of great tasting Gluten Free pastries, cakes and French Macarons. Selections vary daily.

History

Established in 2003.

Sweet Karma was started through the philosophy that great cakes, cookies and pastries should be had by all. We started in a small corner shop in East Meadow. A decade was spent cultivating a neighborhood relationship and attracting customers from all over Long Island, which included many high end restaurants, hotels, country clubs and elite catering facilities. It was time to expand and a new location was found in Plainview, 136 Manetto Hill Road in the Manetto Hill Shopping Center. Now with a larger retail display area and more product offerings in a beautifully decorated showroom of sweets. We are in business to make people happy through Sweet Karma.

Meet the Business Owner: Brian F.

Brian, our cake artist has been in the Foodservice industry for well over 20 years. He has spent time honing his craft with some of NY's top Pastry Chefs, Bakers and Restauranteurs. Brian was the Pastry Chef at such noted establishments as Panama Hatties, Blue Water Grill and the entire BR Guest restaurant group as well as some time spent in Washington DC at Les Halles and Occasion Caterers. After years of experimenting and perfecting his recipes he felt is was time to open his own place and provide some Sweet Karma.

My husband asked him for the code to the other bathroom. Gulhem proceeded to walk over to type in the code himself, NOT TELLING MY HUSBAND, and when the door opened, my Husband told the mother and her daughter to go ahead of him. That seemed to rub Gulhem the wrong way, my husband mentioned to the male employee, the code should be the same for both bathrooms.His response was "YOU ALWAYS COMPLAIN " My husband responded, its the bathroom, every paying customer is entitled to use the bathroom (as the sign states for EACH BATHROOM). First time, my husband spoke to the district manager, he informed her the bathroom wasn't clean. Second time, I (His WIFE) actually contacted the Starbucks customer service, informing the associate that the employees of Starbucks in Country Point, did not call my name to let us know that our food was ready. They called everyone else's name loud and clear by the way. By the time we figured out it was ours, it was already cold. And lastly today's incident. So for this male employee, Gulhem, to say my husband always complains, is absurd, unprofessional, and not true. Lastly, I want to make this clear, there's only a couple of bad apples in this Starbucks location, three employees that come to mind. Everyone else is pleasurable, delightful, and quite professional. It was so loud inside that I could not hear myself speak, despite there being only a few people present. I genuinely feel sorry for the staff who must tolerate such noise levels day in and day out. With that in mind, I have decided that other than stopping by for a quick pick-up, I will not be spending much time here. It is simply not the environment I was hoping to relax and focus on.

I need to write this because I can't believe what I just witnessed. I was there picking up desserts and a man comes in to pick up an order that his wife placed. He gave them the wrong description of the item he was picking up so the girl went back out to clarify with him and he started yelling at her. She went back to get his order to put in the box and he started ranting that his order wasn't ready and that he'd been waiting 20 minutes. He then started to comment at the poor customer service. They told him that his order was ready and that they didn't usually do the item he was getting so let's be thankfully and to have a nice weekend. This was said 2 or 3 times but he just couldn't get past his anger. Well, he just didn't stop so the manger told him to send his wife to pick it up since he being so rude. He then kept threatening to call the Suffolk County police if he did not leave with his order. Right away he started with I live in the community and I am not done with you and started threatening with ruining their business on the internet. I'm just done with people bullying others and the way the get upset/angry with how then the other persons responses. Thanks for letting me vent!! I hope this man's day gets better and he can reflect on his poor behavior. read more

Very disappointing. Although Teresa was nice and understanding at first the cake was not at all what we ordered. There was much communication and we chose a cake from the website to ensure exactly what we wanted. When we called there was no follow up and upon going to the store today I was asked to come back I Sunday when the owner wasn't in. Got half money back because I wouldn't leave but it didn't make up for the cake that was not as ordered and terrible disappointment at a party with 40 guests.m Received a nasty email from the owner. I have been getting desserts from Brian and the Sweet Karma family since they were in East Meadow and have followed them to Plainview. I use them for everything from holidays to dinners to special occasions and have never been disappointed! I recently had Brian made a graduation cake and my baby shower cake. Both came out amazing!
