I left a 50% deposit (I regret that!) & called 20 minutes later to cancel the order because I found the same thing for $85.00 less at a better bakery nearby & the manager refused to refund my deposit! Sweet Karma did an absolutely fantastic job on the cake for my son's bar mitzvah. They went above and beyond what I expected. We had to change the date of the party due to a dying family member so they had to fit us in two weeks earlier than originally expected with just a few days notice and they somehow made it happen. I have been using this bakery for years! My family and in laws have all used them for various special events and the bakery items have always been phenomenal. Hence why we return event after event! As with any business, there can be hiccups in the process. We ordered a cake for my mother in laws birthday as she loves their cakes and we knew they'd do a beautiful job. The cake was visually gorgeous. Unfortunately there was a rare (and I do mean rare because in using them for at least 7-8 years every cake was made exactly as promised if not better) mistake with a specific ingredient and the cake did not taste as it should have. Upon contacting them, the owner Brian communicated with his staff, explained what had happened to us, and not only offered a store credit to be used any time or broken up into however many individual items we wanted (it was a $110 cake), but he ultimately agreed to make a last minute cake for us for next weekend for a belated bday get together I planned for my toddler despite being booked. He put us first and made it right. I truly believe that a solid business will show who they are in how they own their mistakes which are always bound to happen. Sweet Karma shines once again. My husband and I had such a positive and happy experience using sweet karma as our bakery for ordering our gender reveal cake. They were genuinely excited for us, very speedy and professional, and amazingly friendly. Brian and all of his minions at sweet karma desserts are good at lying, manipulating and being rude to their customers not only in person, but also on the phone. He speaks disrespectfully to women and won't ever man up and say that he made a mistake. He also must be color blind because he does not know the difference between blush and hot pink. Not only that, but communication is all but present at this shop. Customer service is terrible and they won't go the extra mile or do the right thing for your satisfaction. When we went back to pick up the cake after arguing and then proceeding to hang the phone up, little Brian saw me a man, get out of the car from the store window and ran into the back to avoid any confrontation.
