Decided to come here with a friend to catch up over a lighter breakfast and some coffee. Super glad we did because the staff was very friendly, the place had a lot of seating and was cute overall, and the food and drinks were delicious! It's owned by Central Asian immigrants (I think Kazakhstan) who have the sweetest personalities and made sure we had a good experience. Would definitely come back and support!

It is a cute little bakery with good but limited options for breakfast. Their coffee is amazing.. strong with a creamy texture. The Honey cake is amazingly delicious. A must try!! We got the 8 inch cake home as well for the birthday party. Service is good as well.

I came here two days in a row lol - I'd been meaning to check this local spot out for a while. First day, my friends and I had breakfast - I got the regular syrniki, a burrata danish, and we shared the honey cake. The honey cake itself should be five stars and this Central Asian-run local spot has great vibes and ambiance including workers with warm smiles. However, I thought the syrniki was a wee bit small for the price and also just okay. I came back the next day because I was in the area and hungry and I did enjoy picking things out of their pastry case: this time I got a potato pirozkhi &cream cheese and garlic donut. I read a review describing the latter as an everything donut. Both were good, as was the burrata danish from the day before, but I only think the honey cake is a must try. But I'd def be down to stop by again next time I'm in the mood for a snack.

(G)o!! but only if you can wait out the lines, because this place is so popular right now and they're sold out by 1 or 2pm (W)ow factor - it's a hot spot!! (M)enu - got a scone and a couple raspberry pastries, phenomenal!! Not too sweet, supremely flaky pastry layers, and huge!

Went on a whim Sunday morning for breakfast since we've been seeing Sweet Moon pop up on social media. The interior is quaint and welcoming with good natural light. Seems like it would be a good place to work too. The menu is extensive and has some unique options. We opted for the pastries at the counter and they did not disappoint! We got the garlic and cream cheese donut and the burrata pesto danish. We also got both hot, which I highly recommend. The garlic + cream cheese donut was so delicious! The perfect mix of creamy and garlicky. Similar to a bagel, but less heavy. The danish was also fabulous! I love all the savory flavors and the dough was flaky and crispy. I would definitely get both again. For drinks, I got the strawberry matcha, a seasonal offering. I loved the addition of the strawberry for a nice hit of sweetness. All in all, would definitely come back for more pastries and drinks!

Sweet Moon is a cute bakery and cafe in Lincoln Square. This is one that I've walked by for years and finally went for the first time! Tried a hot dog pirozhki (hot dog in a baked bun) and a samsa chicken (kind of like a mini samosa m . Both delightful and delish . Interior is beautiful and well designed . Service is quick and courteous! Will be back to try other things soon! #bakery #cafe

My friend and I came here after a Friday morning workout at the local gym since it was recommended to us by another friend we were staying with while visiting for the weekend. On the outside, the shop is unsuspecting and quite discrete. On the inside, it's spacious with plenty of seating and a minimalist chic set up. The vibe was pretty tranquil and offered a good spot for people to study and do work. We decided to look into the pastries as our post-gym snacks, and ordered the following to share: - Garlic & cream cheese donut: FREAKIN DELICIOUS. This was by far the best of the three. Loved how the garlic flavor compliments but doesn't overwhelm the flavor and texture of the cream cheese. The texture was nice and airy, but also the pastry itself offered so much flavor for such a decent size. 5/5 for sure! - Sausage piroshky: Good, yet tasted like your typical pigs in a blanket pastry. 3/5 since it didn't really blow me away. - Pineapple coconut brioche: This one was a good balance - not too sweet but also the texture of the brioche was smooth. 4/5 since it did its job well! I will definitely return here if I visit the area again. The spot is lowkey but it accommodates for the possibility to work, reflect, and indulge!

The food and drinks have been very good. They mostly serve breakfast foods (omelets, waffles, crepes, etc) so keep that mind. The portions aren't the biggest but the quality is good. I've gotten the mushroom omelet twice. I really like their desserts - they served my basque cheesecake with warm chocolate and it was soooo good. My only complaint is that seated is very limited and it takes a while for the food to come out.

Sweet Moon is so peaceful! It has a mellow vibe even when it is busy and the food is so good. I especially liked the breakfast sandwich and the multi nut croissant. There's wifi and plenty of outlets throughout the cafe! Would recommend :)

Stumbled upon this place while looking for brunch places on Yelp! I'm so glad we came here! The decor is whimsical and filled with warm wood, bold green chairs, and all the pretty plants. I also appreciated the fresh flowers at the table. A great date spot! The staff are really nice and patient. Salmon Croffle: I was expecting just a sandwich, but it surprisingly came with a full plate of fresh veg too! I really enjoyed the sweet tomatoes as a compliment to throw savory, bready bites of the croffle. Pistachio Latte: well balanced latte that I got with oak milk. Not too sweet- it was perfect.

My goodness. Sweet Moon is not even a mile away from my home and I've never been to it before today. I must confess, there have been many restaurants that have flitted in and out of this and the space next door, so I don't even always know what might be here at any time. And I never seem to see people in the restaurants along here so I hesitate to get attached. But I hope that Sweet Moon bucks the trend! They've been here for two years and I'm keeping my fingers crossed they are here for many more. Their food is great. I met some friends here and their chai was really good, and if it is made from a concentrate I couldn't tell. It had a subtle flavor, but also didn't taste watered down like is often the case. They also have pastries and small bites as well. I got a sausage roll and mashed potato... thing (I don't know what it was called) and both were really good. Well, so was the potato! They also had a few free samples out so we tasted a raspberry donut and mango. The mango was ok but not my thing (maybe because mango isn't a fruit I generally choose; I'm fairly indifferent) but the raspberry was so good. It didn't taste like a sticky jelly the way most filled donuts do; this was more like a raspberry gel or cream or something Fuller flavor and more true to the fruit, in my opinion. Next time I'd buy a full sized raspberry donut. I can promise it won't be another two years before I stop in again. There's street paid parking if you don't live in the neighborhood, or it's about a block or two north of the Damen Brown Line.

When I lived in Chicago, my friends and I loved to go to a Ukrainian restaurant because some of us are of Eastern European backgrounds and this food felt like home. Upon our recent visit, a friend recommended Sweet Moon and I was really excited for some Russian food. *Chicken cutlets - these were pretty good! *Lamb dish that I can't remember the name of, but it was delicious and had some pine nuts that added some nice texture and a good sauce *Syrniki - these were pretty good *Piroshki with potato - a good little bite to start the meal off! *Merengue roulette cake - this was my favorite of the cakes! *Honey Cake - really good traditional cake *Pistachio raspberry ice cream cake - also really good, and got better as it softened and got a little less frozen Overall, the food was really good and definitely a taste of home.

I've been a customer of almost 10 years and have been obsessed since they first opened their doors at a different location. I literally live an hour away without traffic and even longer with traffic, but I make sure to stop by or send someone else to get it for me at least once a month or more. I love the amazing cakes that are so delicious and unique but on top of that, it is Asian owned, LGBTQ supporting, etc. A lot has changed since their little storefront with no seating. The bakery is now a full on cafe and I'm so happy to see how much they've grown and how successful they are. And while it is glorious, I will say I miss the sweet neighborhood charm and great customer service it used to have. Getting in touch with the bakery through phone or text can be tough and to be honest, sometimes one of the people working there is kind of...very mean. It had me questioning if I should keep coming back. I just love this bakery so much though and being raised by parents that had a small food business, I can't help but want to support. I had a particularly difficult last minute request for the bakery a few weeks ago and I was reminded why this place is so great. It had been YEARS since I made this specific request, which was an order for a slice of cake for every flavor and a cupcake for every flavor. This is a BIG and time consuming request, especially if it's last minute. Unfortunately I come to the city whenever the traffic isn't atrocious, so it's always last minute. Dom absolutely pulled through though. Even though there were other employees there (I saw two others but one disappeared and then another male was kind of walking around the cafe and such), Dom took this giant request and fulfilled it himself. The other gentleman (not the mean person previously mentioned) was actually who I made the request to, but he told Dom to do it. I was kind of confused why they didn't do it together but idk, maybe the other guy isn't allowed to handle food? Who knows. Regardless, this request obviously took a long time and the line was getting longer; people were getting a little restless but Dom stayed calm but was swift. I swear he was moving faster than most people in the industry could with a cake knife like that. He was not impatient or rude to me at all. He was just there to do his job as fast and well as possible. It's so rare to see that type of work ethic. He is also so obviously proud of the bakery and the food they serve which makes you feel good about being a patron there. So although I continue to have an unpleasant experience with one particular employee there, Dom keeps my love for this bakery alive. He reminds me of what this bakery was like when they first opened their doors. I hope Dom is cherished there and I bet he is considering his work ethic. I will continue to support this bakery and I recommend everyone else to support as well. It may not be that small little shop anymore but Dom is a reminder of the heart of the place.

Seating is pretty limited, but it looked like most folks were picking up pastries to go, but either way you order at the front one party at a time. Truffle Croissant (5/5): A must get, super intense black truffle against a perfectly flaky and chewy buttery croissant. The large bits of pearl sugar add pops of sweetness that I loved. Mango Tart (4.75/5): Mango really shines through with melt in your mouth texture and fruity sweetness. Coconut pasty cream adds almost a nutty flavor and luscious mouthfeel to contrast against the lightly crunchy cookie crust. Prosciutto Croissant (4.5/5): Pastry again impeccable with sharp saltiness from the prosciutto and cheese. Still absolutely delicious, but hard to recommend with how good the other items were. Longanisa Breakfast Sandwich (5/5): Another life changing bite. Hash brown add on is unbelievably crunchy against the egg bite that is pillowy soft and fluffy roll. Longanisa is salty and sweet, just the best way to start your morning. Lumpia (3.75/5): Comes out piping hot and the meat still stays juicy and bouncy. Good, not crazy. Filipino Breakfast with Longanisa and Tocino (4/5): Garlic rice is fluffy, but heavy on the garlic exactly like I love it. Sunny side up eggs were perfectly cooked and the two meats were actually the weakest components, a bit chewier than expected. Chicken Adobo (4.25/5): Chicken has almost a nice char on the outside and doused in a tangy sauce with crispy garlic bits. Tender and juicy, personally preferred this over the longanisa and tocino. Sweet Corn Hojicha (2/5): Only real whiff that we tried. While you could really taste the corn, unfortunately ended up being wayyyy too sweet and I couldn't have more than a sip or two.

(Also, keep in mind that mornings are walk-in only, you can't order the breakfast sandwich online like you can with the pastries, and reservations are strictly for their dinner service.) Stepping inside is a welcome relief from the sun. The interior is modern and light-filled, featuring a gorgeous pastry display at the central ordering counter. The space is tight, loud, and bustling. Which makes sense given the sheer volume of people they serve, so you'll have to try and snag one of the few seats along the edges. Once we finally ordered, the service was incredibly fast. The sandwich came out in less than 5 minutes! It was definitely a good, tasty sandwich, but I wouldn't say it was amazing. I bought 3 and my friend got 2. Calamansi cream + pistachio paste danish was my favorite. The Calamansi cream was the perfect texture and density with a fragrant citrus note. When I took a sip of coffee afterwards it made my coffee taste like I was drinking fresh orange juice. The pistachio is more cake like inside than full paste and isn't too sweet. Flaky dough, soft pistachio center and creamy top with a sharp citrus cut. Peach + raspberry Melba danish. The peaches were soft. I'm not familiar with a Melba dessert but the center of this was almond paste which is not my favorite but if you like almond and tart danish it would hit the spot. Raspberry espresso cream cheese cinnamon roll was a fun fruity twist to a cinnamon roll. Couldn't really tell there was espresso though. Blueberry lime cheesecake danish. I also liked this one because of the lime. It really cuts through the heaviness. The fruits on top were also fresh. They also have one day old blind boxes. I grabbed a 6 piece day old box to go and it was actually 6 different pasteries, half sweet and half savory! It only repeated 1 of the pasteries I had originally tried so I'm excited to try more, especially the savory ones. It's an amazing deal if you just want to try a variety of flavors. Tried the Hot dog danish - really good! Upscale pigs in a blanket vibes. The tiny fried are seasoned perfectly and add a fun crunch. The splashes of Dijon cut through and it doesn't feel oily at all.

I went on a weekday and there was still a good selection of pastries left around 11am. The staff was super nice and helpful as I struggled to make a decision. They shared that the strawberry milk croissant was their bestseller, so I opted for that. It was filled with fresh strawberry mascarpone and fresh strawberry puree. Despite the croissant's decadent appearance, it was not at all too sweet. I'm not typically the biggest croissant fan (I know, I know, no one is perfect) but this pastry blew me away. The filling was super generous without overpowering the delicate dough, which was baked to crispy perfection.
