This place has some of the best ice cream I've ever had. Generous portions is one thing that's nice, but the quality and flavors are what make it great. Nice, super clean, cute shop, seating area. We come to the Keys every February and having sampled key lime pie from Key Largo to Key West and Sweet Savannah's version stands out clearly as the best by far. We were more than a little amazed in reading a review of the supposed top 10 pies in the Keys that totally excluded this business - tremendous failure of reporting. As well, we ordered a specialty birthday cake for someone visiting us for a few days and it was stunningly beautiful and quite tasty. No... go down the road to the gourmet popsicles. We tried to get some treats here on 9/17 around 430... three kids were behind the counter and it was as if we interrupted a play date. The male named Derrick was microwaving a lava cake for another customer and the two females were just giggling at his antics. He put his finger in it and stuck it back into the microwave. When it was done, he took it out and literally, I'm not kidding, shoved it into my face, then my teenagers faces, each time saying "lava cake?" "lave cake?" We said no, and after 4 tries, the customer that ordered the lava cake came forward to claim it. Pure chaos and pretty gross. No one acknowledged us up until this point, except "lava cake?" Sweet Savannah's is a really cute bakery and ice cream shop in Marathon. The interior is nicely decorated and has an adorable "secret garden" room that looks like a relaxing place to hang out for a bit, although we took our goodies to go. After much indecision because everything looked so good, we ordered 3 cupcakes and a key lime bar. It was all delicious, but - and I can't believe I'm saying this - the cupcakes had too much frosting. Normally I'm all about the frosting, but it was just too much, especially because the cupcakes were also filled. The cake to frosting ratio was off. The cupcakes would still have been good with just half the amount of frosting. It's nice that Sweet Savannah's is open daily from 11am-9pm. A lot of bakeries close early, so it's great to be able to get a cupcake fix even into the evening. If you have a sweet tooth, definitely give Sweet Savannah's a try. read more

This place is very cute. Brought my daughter here for a cupcake, but she wanted ice cream instead. Asked for a small scoop and got a pretty big one (portions are big). Had to try the key lime pie (which is actually a small slice) and it was amazing! So light and just the right tartness. Got the key lime ice cream which was also good but nothing like the pie. The service was great too. It is really a must if you are passing through marathon. read more

The staff was very friendly with us even through there was a small line. They do offer gluten and dairy free desserts. We all had ice cream, and while it tasted okay, it was definitely not special. There is a small store inside with the desserts if you're looking for gifts. Yes, it is overpriced, but so is all of the Keys. read more

I knew Sweet Savannah's would be a great dessert spot as soon as I saw their line out the door. They have delicious cupcakes, ice cream, and sundaes. I ordered a mocha latte cupcake which was a vanilla cake filled with chocolate ganache and topped with coffee flavored buttercream. I wish I had a picture but I ate it pretty quickly. Sweet Savannah's has a lot of gluten free treat as well as some dairy free ice cream/sorbet flavors. Once you get your ice cream they have a little shop and a cute seating area with free games. Not a good experience! I went to buy a couple a dozen cupcakes for several clients. When I got there no one else was in there. I walked in and asked what they had left since it was slim pickings at the end of the day. But neither of the employees bother to wait on me first. Two of their employees decided to take care of the other two people who walked in later as I was still talking with one of the employees. I thought that's rude! I always make up my mind fast, so I was shocked that they both flippantly ignored a good customer. (I usually send a lot of money in order to impress my clients). Instead, they both decided to be rude and filled the other guy's orders first. So of course, the guy behind me bought up the cupcakes I was going to buy. Since I had to wait for their rather bad customer service, I noticed several flies crawling all over the icing of their cupcakes. Yuck!!! Thank God for their bad customer service or I wouldn't have noticed their cupcakes in Savannah's come with a distinct taste of FLY! Um....the girls here are not friendly at all. I love getting a Sweet Savannah but the last few times the girl used a refrigerated cup cake and the frosting was hard and almost stale. As someone who has been in food service I forgive a lot, I would never go to an establishment right before close. I went in with my husband around 8:20-8:30 ish and they were complaining in ear shot about people coming in late and how they have to be there and they just want to close. Really? This is a cute little place in Marathon Key. I went in to pick up a Key Lime Pie for a friend of ours and ended up ordering a mint chocolate chip ice cream cone which was the bomb-diggity. We usually pop in a few times each trip to the area. Since we are frequent flyers to the keys, it's a lot! The cupcakes used to be so good. This time around, the frosting was extremely grainy and the cupcakes were dry. It felt like I was eating sand and dirt. And the staff...it seems like their attitudes get worse each visit. I waited in line and then placed our cupcake order. They girl starts with "so you're not getting ice cream?" I said no, I'm getting cupcakes. To that, she sucked her teeth. Then I said thank you when she passed me the order as I was paying. Her response, ummmhmmm and she rolled her eyes. I don't understand how an owner can read all the reviews about the staff and do nothing to change it. It's sad. This will definitely be our last visit. read more
