I've lived in Flagstaff for 14 years, and the Sweet Shoppe is somewhere we ALWAYS stop by after dinner for dessert, or anytime we're downtown. The adorable shop has a big window in the front where you can see all of the delicious candy apples. When you go in, you're welcomed by the smell of delicious chocolate and caramel, and it's so warm and inviting. My favorite, though, is the gelato. They usually have this dark chocolate flavor that is rich, deep, and to die for. When I went in today, the staff were thoroughly cleaning the display cases from top to bottom, and everybody had masks on. It felt like a clean, safe place to make a purchase for a food item. Fudge is known here in Flagstaff. However, I did not order that. I was curious about the gelato options. Decided on prickly pear gelato ($3.75). So it's not creamy but rather like shaved ice.
