So, I came here on a Tuesday night and I had this on my watch list for a while. The family atmosphere is so nice that you just want to come and read a newspaper (probably the one that shows how the Patriots are once again champions, booooyaaahhhh). Sweet spot is known for their deserts but boy their menu is off the charts. They have premium meats with all their paninis and sandwiches. I definitely recommend trying out the vegetarian Panini, I was so full after just one half. The juices are also a good add on and must get. Yummy all you can eat pizza on Fridays! The deserts, cakes and pastries were tempting us throughout the meal. So although we were stuffed after all that pizza, we bought some home to sample. Tried something new. Never had Brazilian food before. Ray, the owner, it's from Brazil, and was very nice and helpful. Came on a Saturday, and the social was the feijoada, a dish of black beans, pork, bacon and sausage, served with rice and collard greens. This place was amazing! I've come back twice since I first tried it! Their farofa and chicken are delicous and so are their desserts! The people there were extremly friendly and brought us our food quickly. It's sad that this seems to be a secret to non-brazilians and I think everyone should come. The food was cheap (especially for how good it was and how much you get.) The one and only (minor) problem I had was that I personally feel the beijinhos and brigadeiros were a little overpriced, but I guess they did that to make up for the cheap food. read more

It seemed like he was trying to suppress a million eye rolls for my sake which maybe was his form of customer service. The best Brazilian bakery in Utah! They have tons of Brazilian dishes with amazing black beans and sausage, steak or chicken! My favorite is to get the Sausage plate with rice, beans, farofa, and salad. Then order a side of pão de queijo (cheese ball bread) and coxinha. They have guaraná and real juices from Brazil like caju (cashew) and maracujá (passion fruit). They also make cakes and other delicious deserts. And you can get the salgadinhos to go for parties or just because. We drove from Orem at least once a month to eat here. read more

We came here with a party of four yesterday for the Pizza Rodízio. It had been years since I've been here and my wife has been aching to come so we decided to go. I must say, the pizza was awesome, with each new pizza they brought to the table being new and better than the last. The Caju juice also was awesome, it is nice to find a place that knows how to make it the right way. I would have given 5 stars had the service been better. The couple that was with us had to ask 2-3 times for the servers to bring the juice, then at the end when we wanted water it took two attempts which came 15 minutes after asking. 5 stars can easily be earned if the service improves. read more

Very good authentic Brazilian food. The people working there are very friendly, the place is clean and cozy, and prices are reasonable. You might ask why I'm giving a One-Star rating. Simply put, you need to know this, when you add a tip to your receipt the establishment disgracefully keeps it and does not pass it down to your server as you intended to. I heard this first from someone that has close relations with the place, then confirmed with two former servers that I happen to know. The only way to actually tip your server is to hand them cash directly. This is unbelievably dishonest, and unless I hear back from them here saying that they have changed this practice I will never be coming back. If you wonder how I know so many people that has worked there, I am from Brazil and we are a relatively small community. It infuriates me to think that just the other day I saw one of the owners ask someone who was paying if he wasn't going to leave any tips; knowing that he intended to keep that tip to himself and not pay the server who actually attended that gentleman. I heard that this is a common practice, among some of ethnic restaurants in the Valley. This is simply inexcusable. read more

I feel a bit weird giving 2 stars to a place that has so many positive reviews, but in all honesty, I can't give more. This was our first visit after a recommendation from a Brazilian friend and we were excited to try it. Here's how our visit went: We got there just after 5pm on a Friday. The place was empty except for a party of 7. A waiter was taking their order and no other staff was in sight. After standing around for a few minutes, we decided to just seat ourselves. The party of 7 (Po7) couldn't decide what to get, so it took a while before the waiter got to us. He gave us menus that only had pizza on them. When we wanted to order, we were told the "all you can eat pizza" didn't start till 6:30 pm. They didn't have pizza AT ALL till then. He brought us new menus. He didn't speak very good English and asking him questions about the food seemed too complicated, so we just ordered chicken with rice, beans and a salad. Our food arrived (served on a lunch tray) and it looked very simple but appetizing. The portion was pretty large. Meanwhile, Po7's food was arriving slowly one at a time. The waiter was trying, but seemed confused and it appeared like at least two of Po7's orders were wrong. A manager/owner (?) came out twice to sort things out. Our food was tasty enough but considering how basic it was (plain grilled chicken breast, a heap of rice, beans and some greens) it wasn't really worth $10. The server never came back to even refill our water. We ordered dessert (they didn't have our first choice). It was brought but he left our tray with dirty dinner dishes on the table. Finally we just got up and went to pay. He couldn't ring us up, had to get someone from the back. The lady that came out didn't really ask us anything, just took our money and that was it. Overall - pretty poor experience. Most likely won't be back. read more

I'm a sucker for authentic, hole in the wall, eateries, be they Ethnic or home grown American comfort. The Sweet Spot Brazilian Cafe and Bakery in Sandy is a hidden gem. You can tell a lot about a place by how they prepare vegetarian dishes, especially when you have them leave off the cheese. My grilled vegetarian sandwich with garden salad was unbelievable. The best Brazilian food around. I have tried the new place in Provo but it's not as good. The seasoning at the sweet spot is amazing. Portions are large, the farofa is amazing. Other brazilian places claim they have farofa but it looks and taste more like farinha. The coxinha here is a must as well. Best coxinha in utah. read more

I'm torn on this one. I want to rate this four stars, but in the end I could only go for a three. The place is really a hole in the wall. The dining room is small and awkward, and it seemed to smell kind of weird when I came in by the door (like sewer gas). Also, the decor makes no sense; it's a Brazilian place, but I saw no indication of that theme in anything around the place. And there was a loud noise constantly going, like a fan or running fridge--totally annoying. The food at least was unique and good for the most part. In particular, the sandwiches are wonderful. The meat dinners are okay but nothing special and give you way too much food. Overall advice: Revamp the dining room to be more pleasant so someone would actually want to be in it. read more

I wish that I could give this place more stars because the food is actually pretty great. Unfortunately the service makes it almost unbearable. If you go during a standard meal time expect to wait a really long time for your food. This is a very inefficiently run business. Basically its a family that knows how to cook but doesn't know how to run a restaurant. It is a true "hole in the wall" type place...which is fine by me. The biggest problem they have is they treat customers that speak Portuguese MUCH better than everyone else. It's pretty blatant discrimination unfortunately. I'm not saying that there are hate crimes going on there, but if you speak Portuguese you'll get your order taken first, you'll get the menu explained to you, you'll get served first, they'll clear tables for you, etc. If you don't speak the language you can expect the opposite...meaning if someone comes in after you that speaks Portuguese expect that you'll take a back seat. I wish it wasn't this way because their feijoada is the best I've had at any of the Brazilian restaurants in Utah (even though they only serve it on Saturday's or something like that). The Coxinha are decent sized and delicious, eating one will put you to sleep. They also have an all you can eat Pizza Night, which apparently you have to speak Portuguese to know about and possibly participate in. It was unclear. But the pizzas were coming out every 5 minutes whereas our food took an hour to come out of the kitchen. If you go, take someone that speaks the language. Otherwise, expect to be treated poorly. read more

We love this place Brazilian restaurant/bakery. It's small, but the food is excellent. Don't go if you are in a hurry, it takes a little bit to get your food but it is so worth it. A few things that are always a hit: Try the Mixto Quente, a warm ham and cheese sandwich served with fries. Variety of juices and sodas-you can get Guaraná Antartica soda here, very nice. Their daily steak/beans/rice/salad plate tastes great, but aim for the Feijoada on Saturdays (dark black beans/meat dish served with rice with farofa and shredded kale on the side). Bonus if you speak Portuguese, fun to practice. Desserts: Order any of the brigadeiros (fudge truffle ball), beijinho (coconut truffle ball), all of their "bolos" (cake) are delicious. If you don't like chocolate, try the "pao de mel" (tastes like gingerbread with a dulce de leche caramel filling and a light chocolate topping on the top). read more

we ordered a birthday cake for my son's 7th, their dulce de leche cake was so dry no one ate their piece NO ONE, we've had it in the store before and it was great, super moist and delicious and this one was not, I called the manager and told her and she argued with me on how she made it fresh and there was nothing wrong with her cake, eventhough we used to go here and have lunch and dessert we will not be going back, I've never had a problem with their food until we purchased this cake but her lack of customer service and ease to argue has turned me away from them forever. I do not recommend their cakes for parties. read more

This place is awesome! I have been waiting for a long time to find a good little Brazilian place that's not the expensive Rodizio or Samba Grill. The Coxinhas are fantastic, definitely try those. The hot sandwiches are great too. That's all we got this time because it was our first time going, but definitely plan on going again. On Saturday they have feijoada which is a bean and sausage stew that is just insanely good, so I suspect their's is great too. Also they have a lot of really good Brazilian deserts, but we unfortunately didn't get any this time. And they have Guarana which is just the best drink ever to wash it all down with. I have gone here a couple of times, and last night received the poorest service ever. This place is badly organized. I ordered 2 pizzas, they told us to come at 7 to pick them up and they were cold and took 40 minutes. Normally a restaurant here in America when the service has been so poor they at least discount the pizza. Dont expect any good customer service here. Also when i went to pay, they charged nearly 20 dollars more, luckily we caught it... Very disappointing... read more

I have two Brazilian friends that have over the years introduced me to Brazilian food, and not only the stuff that you get at places like Rodizio Grill. When they wanted to take me to a new Brazilian place I of course said yes, but I must say when we pulled up to the place, I was a bit confused. I said "I thought we were going to a Brazilian restaurant, so why are we here, this is a bakery", so I think the name Sweet Spot Bakery & Cafe wouldn't lead me to believe that there is anything here but cupcakes and would not make me think that there was delicious Brazilian cuisine waiting for me inside. The place was clean, clutter free, and simple. When we first got there, we were the only ones, but around 7:30pm, it got packed. Every Friday night they do an all you can eat "pizza rodizio" which is all you can eat pizza. I found all of the different ones I tried to be delicious. We also had a few of the the more traditional fried chicken stuffed goodness, which were equally tasty. I also liked that fact that nobody seemed to be in a real hurry, my friends and I ended up just staying there chatting and eating great food for almost 3 hours, and never once felt like they were trying to kick us out. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that they seem to be very disorganized, and we waited a really, really, long time for the pizza to be ready. Even though I was stuffed with all of the pizza I ate, I still managed to find room for a slice of the amazing briggadero cake. It was heavenly! I would highly recommend giving this place a try. I promise, you won't be disappointed, especially if you end up trying one of the desserts first. read more

Ok, if you want to try the best sandwich every, it's called "The BEIRUTE." I'm not kidding, picture this. A medium Tri-tip steak, with a fried egg, cream cheese spread on a pita bread (and more i'm sure). Best sandwich that has every touched my lips. The service there isn't the greatest, but i don't even care. I get that sandwich every time. It's only $10 but you can split that with your girlfriend and have a great meal. Horrible cakes for events! I paid $330 for 1 fondant cake 10" and 2 half sheet cakes. I understand the fondant cake was suppose to be dry, but the other cakes that were served to our guests were absolutely horrible. They tasted dry and old. The 200 guests made us stop cutting the cakes because nobody wanted to eat them. People were taking 1 or 2 bites and putting it aside. It ruined my wedding. I am not sure of what happened. I always liked their cakes from the store, but I was embarrassed and disappointed with the quality of this cake during the most important day of my life. When I complain about it they wanted me do bring the cake back and give me 25% gift card. The problem was that I live out state. I gave them the address of my parents-in-law's house where we left the cake in West Jordan. But they won't go there to pick it up. We only come here to visit family, so my father-in-law took it back. They gave him $50 store credit. What a joke. They cut the cake and thought that it wasn't dry for their standards. I have heard a lot of bad reviews about their catering capabilities, but I thought it was just for the food. Lesson learned! Tushar brought the food and Wagner was kind enough to give me brigadeiros.
