Feijoada Review! Lunch at The Tushar Brazilian experience was decent. I had high expectations, but the food was just okay. I didn't care much for the little salad that came with the dish, there was little to no farofa(toasted cassava flour) or vinagrete(A.KA. pico de Gallo) for the amount of beans you're served. I also wish there was more rice. At the end of the meal I was left with a ton of beans left. There was also a good amount of broken up bay leaves in my feijoada. Service was decent, I definitely understand being understaffed as I've worked in the restaurant industry in the past. The restaurant looked clean and organized. I am sure Tushar has other great dishes on their menu, but the feijoada was not my favorite. Places like Pitada and Delicatto definitely deliver bolder Feijoada flavors in my opinion.

My daughter got invited to a birthday party recently where these delicious tiny pizza-like morsels were served. She never eats and is basically surviving on air and fruit snacks, so when she ate 4 of them, I was shocked and had to find out what they were and where they came from. The mom told me they were from Tushar, which I had seen before passing by but had never had the pleasure of visiting. I was surprised I had never heard of esfihas before, but so glad I did! The kind man at the counter at Tushar explained to us that Esfihas are popular in Brazil, but originally are Lebanese. Wherever they come from, we love them. The fresh dough is the best part, and that alone makes me so excited to go back and try their full size pizzas. The cheese is out of this world, and these were a huge hit with the kids. Will definitely be back for more!

 Nothing better!

Best Brazilian By a Billion. Tushar's came through with 200 lil' cochinhas delivered on the night before the big party. Delicioso! And priced just right. We also love the ambiance when we eat in - especially Feijoada Fridays! Ben Feito. We'll keep coming back!

I REALLY wanted to like this place-because I love Brazilian food and the idea of having a quick fix was appealing to me. The menu offers a wide array of my favorites, so I thought this might be a perfect substitute from the more formal affair of the buffet/tableside service of some of the other places. Unfortunately, it turned out to be an incredible disappointment. The young man at the counter was friendly and offered some suggestions when we told him it was our first time in. We got a good assortment of items so we could try them all. My meal came out about 10 minutes later-and everything was cold. Not just lukewarm, but so cold I had to gag it down. Another ten minutes and my wife's food arrived-everything also cold with the exception of the bananas-those were steaming hot. I assume that everything else was already made, plated and waited for the bananas to be ready. The discrepancy of temperatures was a deal breaker. The meat was mostly flavorless, but the veggies tasted good-despite them obviously being out for a long time. However, we didn't finish most of our food. The lack of flavor and temperature ruined it for us.

We loved our visit to Tushar. The food was amazing. If you love Brazilian food, delicious seasoned meat, cheese bread, beans and rice, you owe it to yourself to try this place out. Wagner, the owner, was one of the most gracious hosts we've ever had. He made us, and all of our party, like family. Will definitely be coming back!

Beef stew or Beef Skewer Meal

Tushar Brazilian Express was good. I got the beef skewer meal that came with two sides. Their fried bananas are fantastic and are definitely worth getting as a side. The french fries are terrible and I wish I had gotten the mashed potatoes instead. The flan is so so. Be forewarned that sometimes they have DJs performing on the weekend and they expect you to pay a cover charge. Even if you're just there to get food. Next time I think I need to try the beef churrasco or feijoada.

The best parts about this place? Good food and most of the menu is gluten free (including gravy). The few things not gluten free are clearly marked on the menu. Skewers come in beef, chicken, pork, pineapple, and fried cheese Meat skewers are tender. Definitely order the black beans and rice as a side. The appetizers are worth exploring as well. I always pay for an extra skewer to get the grilled pineapple with my pork. The gluten free cheese rolls are a must. Service is quick. This is a family run establishment and well worth supporting.

Be different tonight! Try Brazilian food! I served a mission in Brazil and haven't had Brazilian pizza in years! Went here to get my fix of Brazilian beans and rice, and got the pizza instead! So good! Customer service is great! They care about all their customers. So like I said, instead of burgers and fries, branch out and have something different! Way to go Tushar! Hit it out of the park!

Update: Still great tasting food, awesome service and have added some new desserts on the menu. We need to come here more often. Really missed eating here.

Brazilian cheese roll and Brazilian soda

This review is for my experience several months back. My friend and I stopped by here for late lunch while in SLC for a short trip. We had come at an odd hour where it was way past lunch but too early for dinner, so our service was pretty quick! Our server was very patient in helping us with recommendations and answering our questions about the Brazilian soda! We ended up ordering the Brazilian cheese roll and and Brazilian soda. The soda has a unique taste like almost a cherry Sprite. I really liked it. The cheese rolls were also very good - savory and cheesy goodness. Now for the main course, we ordered one glazed pork and one grilled beef skewer. For sides we ordered salad, masked potatoes, and fried bananas. We both thought the glazed pork tasted better even though both meats were. The fried bananas were good as well and not overly greasy. Both the mashed potatoes and salad tasted pretty standard. Overall, I would recommend this place for a quick lunch, but if you're looking for a Brazilian experience, this place is not for that.

I absolutely love the food here! They have the best skewers in Utah, so flavorful and delicious! If you're looking for a real taste of Brazil, this is where to go.

The restaurant is beautiful with fancy light up menus which is needed because it's pretty dark inside. I ordered the beef ribs and my husband ordered the picanha. Both came out extremely tough and chewy. My daughter had to spit out her bite because she got tired of chewing so we had to cut each piece into 1/2 cm pieces for it to be palatable. I've been to Brazilian steak houses before and beef ribs are usually the most tender and flavorful especially when there is bone. The server did say it was going to on the chewy side but I didn't think he was serious. Like why would you make meat intentionally chewy? For a $50 dish that came with no sides and worse than what we've made at home it's pretty disappointing. We also ordered a side of the grilled veggies which had some veggies that were so bitter and others that were undercooked and no seasoning. The purple yams were decent and the coquettes but again the pricing for each was exorbitant. Also because they have a somewhat open kitchen style concept the dining room got extremely hot and we were just dying to get out quickly. For two entrees, two sides, one app, a bottle of water and glass of wine a bill of $225 was not worth it. Sadly not a great experience.

We went for Mexican Night and loved it so much that we came back again for Italian Night. As someone who grew up going to HomeTown Buffet, this felt like the homemade version of that experience comforting, fresh, and made with care. Everything we tried was delicious. Italian Night was just as impressive, with favorites like lasagna, spaghetti, Alfredo pasta, meatballs. I love their fries and pizza lol. The dessert selection was amazing too, there was so much variety, like their rice puddinf. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the food was consistently great both visits. Honestly, I wish we had a Chuck-A-Rama in California. We'd be regulars! If you're in Utah and looking for a buffet with homemade comfort food and plenty of options, this place is definitely worth a visit.

You don't have the pallet for it. The sweet and sour sauce is just sour. The fried rice has no flavor. The eggrolls tastes like they came from a frozen box and was fried. Shall I keep going? Your salad bar could use a little more variety choices. I would love to see beets, mushrooms, and baby corn. The seafood salad used to have more imitation crab and is now mostly celery. The monkey bread is good when it's fresh. Lately, it seems like the rolls don't proof enough before baking and they turn out flat and tough. One thing they nail every time is their fresh baked rolls. They are always fluffy and buttery. Another won is the turkey, which is always moist and flavorful. My last complaint is I would love to have a PIECE of fried chicken that's not the size of a half chicken. These pieces are HUGE AND DRY. Both fried and baked chicken have good flavors. I just wish they were smaller, juicy pieces. Some nights are better than others. You can't beat the value you get here. Just not on Tuesday nights.
