I heard rave reviews about Sweet Sundays Cafe, but I wanted to see for myself. I am so glad it was one of the stops on the 2026 Food Crawl organized to celebrate Haitian Heritage Month and Restaurant Week. The cafe was comfortable, offering indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was inviting and the food was meant to be savored. I love when eateries put their own creative twist on common menu items, like the chiktay avocado toast or kremas latte. Yes, you just read that! After one bite, I knew that I wanted more than just the one portion. I paired it with the Hibiscus Brew refresher, which was delicious and the perfect way to beat the heat. Are you swaying to the konpa music? You will! Congratulations on the recently-opened second location in Prospect Lefferts Gardens! I hope to visit soon. read more

Im big brunch person & i came across this place on yelp. It had high reviews & by the pix i was like why not. I pulled up yesterday Friday morning & it was busy. It small cozy place with good energy. It has seating in the back & outside, so that was cool.. Sis, @ the counter was dope luv her energy. Right off the back i asked do they have mimosas, & they said we dont have our liquor license yet. I was like it all good ill still give u a try. I ordered bacon (turkey), eggs & cheese with mango refresher. I was impressed.. My man enjoyed his food too. Really good food, and considerate service, which means they are definitely going to need more space or another location soon!! Great options for vegans and several for gluten-free- which is very welcome!! 12-1pm Saturday was wall to wall packed with people ordering and waiting for orders. If they could implement a system for texting when an order is ready- it may cut down on everyone waiting in the order area, versus the current method of calling out order numbers and people potentially not hearing them outside or in the second area where most of the seating is. This would probably be the biggest first improvement to their waiting area experience on busy days. The prices are also quite amazing for the quality of food and portion, so I think we all put up with the crowd for that reason alone. We did have one issue on our order which meant it took 40min from order to being ready. Apparently the vegan chopped cheese protein had not been defrosted and needed additional heating time to come up to serving temperature. Multiple apologies were given and free pastry was offered, but we just waited outside even where it was chilly and inside was full, and it was still worth the wait... which says a lot about quality. read more

Came back for the kremas matcha (again lol) and of course it (still) didn't disappoint. Also had a bacon egg and cheese that was surprisingly delicious! My friend and I were looking for a new breakfast spot and I had heard about this spot before so decided to finally try since it was near our gym. I was interested in trying their kremas iced latte and it was really good - not too sweet and a good balance of the kremas flavor and coffee. I also ordered the BLT which was the perfect size for me. Something about that bread made it taste even better! The staff were helpful with recommendations and were very welcoming. They do get pretty busy though, thankfully the seating area is quite spacious. I'd be happy to come back and support again. read more

Stopped by on a Sunday morning after church for a quick bite to eat. The front entrance is a bit tight but there are some tables once you're done placing your order where you can sit and wait or dine in if you'd like. I ordered the mango rose lemonade dor my drink. For my meal I ordered two Haitian patties. One was chicken and the other was oxtail. I honestly don't know which one was which. They both tasted very similar. But nonetheless it tasted good. A very cute local Haitian owned cafe in Flatbush. The have local favs like the Kremas which you can add to matcha or lattes and the oxtail flatbread. I had both and both were super yummy. There is plenty of seating outside and in the back to read or get some work done. This would deff be the spot I would be taking my hookup from the night before in the mornings and it's right next to the train to drop them off. read more

Found out through this app about this place. I was curious about this "chopped cheese" sandwich concoction. As a long time Brooklynite I'm afraid I haven't heard of this. Then I found this place. A cute Cafe within walking distance? Sold! Plus the viral matcha kremas sold me. So I went today for a chopped cheese and matcha kremas. The counter space is quite small. Staff was courteous. Seating area is larger and I like the furniture. I was given hot sauce and ketchup when asked. The Haitian woman, who I presume is the owner?, was very nice. The chopped cheese was nice and filling. I hear it gets messy when unwrapped and its definitely true. But the food was packed up so it wasn't a problem. You can choose wedges or salad. I chose wedges. They were long and fat. One wasn't fully cooked. But well seasoned. I might come back for the vegan option. Then there was the kremas matcha. Kremas, for those who don't know, is like Haitians version of eggnog. According to the owner they make it with oat milk as they find it creamier. It's non alcoholic. I was impressed! I ordered the small. It was enough. I drank it after the meal and there was no separation of ingredients. Not too sweet. They also have a latte version and I am planning on coming back for that. I also bought some pastries to try at home. I wanted to try their patties especially their Oxtail one but apparently they sell out early. I'd definitely visit again. We decided to try this place. We called in our order and they said it would be ready within 15 mins The interior is cute very quaint. And the food was ready as they stated. The customer service over the phone and in person was delightful. Got the food back home it was hot and tasty. The portions looked small at first but it was extremely filling. This place needs to do better with customer service skills. Starting with The lady in the front who has poor customer service skills I tried to like this place due to the Haitian style cafe in the community but as it got more buzz it seems they will eventually need to get a bigger space and more welcoming staff. I understand it's NY and space is tight overall but it is uncomfortable trying to place an order cramped at the door. The prices definitely surprised me, a bit high. Five stars, no question! I've already been twice this week. The first visit was so good we didn't even think about taking photos just ate everything in sight. Today I finally grabbed a few shots, but only after polishing off my vegan cornbread and vegan BLT no evidence left, haha. This place is relatively new and I saw its grand opening in Instagram and saved it for a rainy day. In some ways it has location going for it. It is right next door to the 2/5 Beverly Road train station. So for people heading to work, this could be a place to grab a specialized coffee/drink or pastry to go. But I think it works better as a cafe for a quick bite. It works in a relatively small space with four stool seats near window. It wasn't busy when I visited but it would be a tight squeeze if you plan on staying. But it also has free wifi and ac so during hot summer days, it could be a great option. I really would go back for the menu and their service. They have the standard fancy coffee options (espresso, mocha, etc.) and milk alternatives. But they also have special drinks like the cremas matcha which is matcha mixed with a popular Haitian drink which was great. They also have refreshers (fruit based drinks) plus a great assortment of pastries and food options for breakfast and lunch. Even a chopped cheese on brioche. In addition to the options, I just generally liked the people who were working there. They checked if I wanted anything else. This is one of the best cafes I've been to in a while. First off, the service is amazing. Everyone that works here was super attentive and helpful. The food 10:10...everything is well flavored and comes out hot and fresh. The drinks are super tasty as well. Recently I've noticed that a lot of cafes BLAST music when you're trying to work, take a call, or even just catch up with a friend and it becomes very overstimulating and distracting. This cafe had light music in the background that set a vibe, but wasn't overbearing..it allowed me to get work done and made me want to spend more time and money here. Kremas Matcha is so good and well balanced. Not too sweet, still Matcha forward. I got mine with oat milk and wanted a second! I also ordered a turkey bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and it was so fresh. The bread was soft and crunchy on the outside - eggs were not overcooked. Have been going to the shop for my croissants/pain au chocolat in the morning for work roughly since they opened up. Always a hospitable & warm environment, in a nice & very cozy space!! I kept going for those croissants lol (which are delicious!!!!) & up until today I had never gotten to sit down and indulge on the menu. I got the BEC & a butterfly lemonade.. 10/10 everything was 10/10. The BEC is probably the best I've tasted in a while, slight twist to a classic but you gotta try it to see! The butterfly lemonade was perfect, not too sweet & so refreshing and delicious I had to get a second one to go & a red velvet muffin! Happy neighbor here, and will continue to support.. What a gem! I've been to Sweet Sunday's twice in one week and was tempted to visit for the 3rd time today. It's a quaint spot right outside the Beverly Road subway station so it can be easy to miss. They recently came to the neighborhood with a grand opening in May. Each time I went the staff was so warm and inviting. The owner Felix is super sweet, and I believe the executive chef Fabiola was also there when I visited. So lovely with a nice sense of humor. Everything I tried was incredibly fresh and delicious. My favorites were the almond croissant, and the oxtail patty which had the flakiest most buttery delicious crust I have ever tasted. The lemon loaf cake and vegan banana muffin were also hits. I can't wait to try the Haitian hot chocolate in the cooler months. I'm rooting for this small Black-owned business! There are tons of Caribbean bakeries in the area but it's nice to see a place like Sweet Sunday pop up bringing elevated treats to the area. Bravo! read more
