I got a chance to tag along in a wedding cake tasting. Cakes were delicious. And after the couple tried quite a few well known bakeries in OC and Long Beach they easily chose Sweet Traders. Sweet traders made a beautiful cake that was beach theme for our wedding! They provide you a tasting for the cakes before committing to a flavor, we loved the banana pecan with Vanila and chocolate hazelnut frosting! We sent them some inspo photos for the cake and looked like it came out of a picture! It was beautiful and had many chocolate seashells on it. Overall very pleased with outcome would order a cake from them for future events! read more

I cannot emphasize enough how stunning my cake from Sweet Traders was! I found a photo on Pinterest of something I wanted for a birthday cake and they recreated it perfectly. I chose Sweet Traders for my small wedding elopement. The girls were so kind and understanding. I decided to get married a week before I actually went and got married. Then my family surprised me and said they would be coming, so I had to rush around and find a cake place. Sweet Traders were not only able to fit me in for a tasting but also make a 6" heart shaped cake, lambeth style with black lettering, all in less than a week for me!! They absolutely kicked butt! I chose the lemon blueberry cake with vanilla Bavarian filling and my goodness, IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! It was so wonderful that my guests absolutely raved about it and I hope to get a small version of it every year for our anniversary. They really had the perfect cake to icing to cream ratio annnd the cake was so moist. You can see the ratio in the picture. The top and side is their wonderful buttercream icing, then the lemon blueberry cake and vanilla Bavarian cream between each layer of cake. And just when I thought my experience with Sweet Traders couldn't get any better, their pricing was extremely reasonable and fair! I can't thank them enough, they really went above and beyond for me and my wedding in such a short notice. I highly recommend Sweet Traders, you will not regret ordering from them! The pictures speak for themselves. That is why I am giving Sweet Traders a 5 star review. I have been using them for years for my kids' birthday parties, and they consistently create the most creative and delicious edible artwork. I have shared inspiration photos for cakes and cookies, and they always turn them into true masterpieces that taste just as amazing as they look. I have ordered custom sugar cookies that are basically works of art, yet still incredibly delicious. My favorite cake flavor so far is the confetti cake with vanilla cream and fresh strawberries. I cannot wait to try more flavors and designs for my next event! Finally I have had the cakes delivered to multiple events. Im typically someone who doesn't write a review but...the cake they made for my daughter's 40th was amazing!! We celebrated her birthday at a restaurant and as they were bringing the cake out for me you could see the other guest just stop and look at the cake! The Manager came and told me they have never seen a cake designed like this. The design was all my daughter's favorite things, going to National Parks, Disneyland, Wine Tasting (Winnie the Pooh holding a glass of wine), Charcuterie Board and her Bernadoodle. It is still being talked about because she was so touched by it she posted her celebration on social media that included the cake. Literally the best. From cake to service, I feel like the quality is exceptional each time! How can you go wrong with a place that was featured and WON on Foodnetworks' Winner Cake All? We went for our wedding cake tasting during COVID and chose our wedding flavors. We opted for 2 cake flavors: almond cake with vanilla buttercream and marble with oreo frosting in between the layers. I then came back a few years later for my friends' baby shower cake testing. They remembered me as a bride which was so touching :) Bring inspirational photos from Pinterest or IG! We ordered the strawberry flavored cake with cream cheese buttercream. OH EM GEE - not one slice was left and the guests raved about it so much that they asked who the baker was. Came back a few months down the line and ordered a dozen funfetti gender reveal cupcakes. I sent in a few pictures and worked with Andrea on the customizations. Our families loved the cupcakes and asked again who, what, where they were from. Moist and not to sweet, not one cupcake was left. Sweet Traders will work with you on your dream desserts' customization and they have SO many different cake, frostings and filling flavors, you'll have a hard time deciding. We had our wedding cake done by Sweet Traders and my gosh -- it was delicious, delightful, and gorgeous. During wedding planning, we did not spend a lot of time thinking about the cake, this wasn't due to lack of importance, but rather trying to juggle a million other things. Luckily, Sweet Traders made it *easy*. First -- when we did the tasters, their cake stood out immediately. The texture, the fluffiness, the perfect flavors. Even the care around the packaging stood out from the others we tried -- it told us these are folks who care. Then, when we actually saw our wedding cake for the first time. My wife started crying. I expected a beautiful cake when I ordered from Sweet Traders, but I must say I was in shock with how PERFECT everything was The cake was something else, everyone complimented the dessert table we got together for my daughter's birthday party. Girlfriend reached out about a cake over a month in advance (with the date of the event in the initial email), and received a prompt response asking for details. Then nothing. Company didn't reply until a month later, after the date had already passed. It felt unprofessional. If you're booked over, you could have led with that in the initial response. If you missed the email, that's poor management and is unprofessional still. But 1-1.5 months lead time seems reasonable on our end, since their website 2-3 days for quote requests and only 2 weeks notice for a cake. Kind of a bummer since they seem to be held in quite high regard. read more

I Being short notice only the signature cake options were offered and I emailed a photo of my inspiration which was very simple & elegant. We loved loved loved our cake and desserts that Sweet Traders made for us for our wedding day. The cake design was exactly what we wanted. The cake flavors reflected both me and my husband's tastes. I plan to update my review after my wedding but for now I want to talk about the cake tasting. Due to COViD we had to do a pick up tasting. We tried vanilla, devils food, white chocolate & marble. We also tried lemon filling, vanilla Bavarian, whipped cream and cream cheese. Even though it wasn't a "normal" experience it was still great! We absolutely loved the cakes & fillings we tried. It was a tough decision to make but we chose devils food with vanilla Bavarian, and vanilla with raspberry. I loved the whipped cream filling as well so it was hard to pick. We are getting married at the Hyatt in Huntington Beach which partners with Sweet Traders. There are 4 places we had to pick from but Sweet Traders is the only one we considered after seeing their photos & reading the reviews. I cannot wait for my guests to try the cake and look forward to updating this review after the wedding!! read more

As a caterer, I get to taste a lot of cakes. This beautiful cake was ordered by one of our clients for an event that we catered in late April. This is by far one of the best cakes that I have ever tasted! Not only was the cake beautifully decorated, you could taste the quality of the ingredients that made this cake so special. I was referred by a friend to a Sweet Traders when I was looking for cupcakes for my son's birthday. I had a great experience with Sweet Traders: the communication was easy and quick, their ideas for design were nice and simple (we had a Harry Potter theme, and they put the golden snitch on top of the vanilla cupcakes), and the price was good. My daughter went to SIX bakeries across Southern California for cake tastings. Six. Not kidding. She was very excited about Sweet Taders and thought she finally found the cake she wanted. I was nervous because even though the cake at the tasting g was good, replicating it for a 4-tier cake is very different than serving a smaller slice at a tasting. Holy cow! Not only was the cake itself absolutely gorgeous, the taste was out-of-this world. The cake was moist and light. The filling was creamy and the buttercream frosting was amazing. The overall flavor was light, not too sweet and FRESH! I have never had such an amazing wedding cake ever!! I can't recommend this amazing company enough. Okay hear me out... this bakery is by far THE BEST in Huntington Beach! The owner Rachael is awesome and makes all your dessert dreams come to life. Plus, they have vegan cupcakes (YUM!) Best wedding cake ever!! They did not bat an eye when my wife and I inquired about getting a wedding cake(and surprise cake for my grandmother's birthday) for our wedding. Our consultation was very intimate and we never once felt like we were being "sold" on anything. We were able to select 3 different flavor/frosting combinations and it was so hard! All of their cakes and fillings are delicious. We chose lemon blueberry cake with raspberry filling, marble cake with a raspberry chocolate ganache and lastly a confetti cake with a vanilla Bavarian filling. the best cake ever!! i order a birthday cake and ask for a specific theme. They delivered and it was so awesome!! cake was also delicious!! it was a coconut cake with mango cream filling, taste like a pina colada without the alcohol. Emailing was a bit slow but i know they are busy filling orders and they still responded back so i didn't mind. I contacted them 2 weeks before the date. I've been following Sweet Traders on IG for a while. Every single one of their creation is beyond gorgeous and simply, a work of art. I knew that I was going to have them create a cake for me eventually. My boyfriend's birthday was coming up and I was the sole planner/provider (I was paying for all the food, games, treat bags) and I really had to stick to a budget. I contacted Sweet Traders and asked for a quote for an eight-inch Clash of Clan themed cake -boyfriend's always playing that silly game. I was given the quote of $173. I wanted to make sure that was a reasonable price so I messaged 6 other businesses who quoted me (same cake) $300+. Whoa. Sweet Traders it is. I paid the whole price (bring cash! I didn't have any and was charged a CC fee) and finalized my order with the bakery 2 weeks prior to event date. To note, I sized down to seven-inch so the new total was around $165. When the employee brought out the cake, I almost cried. It looked even better than the Pinterest image I emailed them. Amazing. The details on the warrior was exquisite. When the cake was brought out for the guests, people went crazy! Phones out, flashes, video taping. This was pretty much an epic-looking cake. And the taste! I'd selected lemon blueberry with Bavarian cream. Such a lovely tasting cake. It was similar to a pound cake, a bit denser but so delicious. A friend, who just had her wedding stated she should've selected ST as her cake vendor. Haha. And my boyfriend, he doesn't even like cake but when he tasted this cake, he was very surprised. He LOVED it! He said it wasn't too sweet and was very tasty. He ate his slice happily. Sweet Traders, bless you. Seriously. You have the best prices around and most importantly, you provide quality products. Thank you for being so easy to work with. Thank you for providing me such great memories. And thank you for ensuring that there'll be a super expensive present for me under the Christmas tree from my boyfriend this year. read more

To better accomdate our ever growing clientel requests we have recently added a mini dessert bar menu - pricing available upon request. We are a small boutique bakery, our cakes are baked to order and during wedding season - June - Aug, we usually we require 1 to 2 weeks notice for all orders.For all other months 1 to 2 days notice is required. For 22 years Tomfoolery Serious Chocolate was known throughout Orange County for it's mousse cakes chocolates and hand dipped chocolate wines and champagnes. I'm a big cake person when it comes to special events so that of course means I have high expectations when it comes to dessert tables and what not. I've always been going to a this one other store near my house but since they've been lacking in the proper customer service, I decided maybe it's time to find a new place. So after some research and calls, I came across Sweet Traders. I even came there and checked out the place because I wanted to see what type of flavors they offered & I've got to admit, their variation in flavors and colors is tremendously impressive. So last year for my boyfriend's sister's birthday, I decided to do an "under the sea" theme and I got everything done by them! They even delivered it for me but that was for across nm extra fee of course. & there's also a minimum required for delivery! Ever since my previous order with them, they've always been my go-to spot for orders. I just placed an order with them last night! Although I placed it pretty last minute, Rachael was still able to accommodate to my request. I love that she was very quick and responsive via email. Now that my order has been put in, all there is left to do is wait and see how this cake turns out! I found this business on Yelp after looking for bakeries to do a custom cake for my sons birthday and was impressed by all the great reviews despite the odd one or two negative ones. Having lived in Europe we became spoiled by the high quality of bakeries there so I was looking for a bakery that used a real buttercream, not the Crisco mixed with powdered sugar, like many American bakeries. I live in Long Beach and have tried most of the ones here and have been disappointed. I was very impressed with the young lady that helped me, I had a budget to keep to so she suggested doing a smaller cake and then cupcakes for the rest to keep the cost down. We had a yummy moist lemon cake with raspberry cream and Italian buttercream frosting, and chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream. We had so many compliments from our friends and kids going back for a second cupcake and the design came out great. This is now my third bakery I have tried in Huntington Beach, having already been to Great Dane & Bubba Sweets and been vastly disappointed. Well, third times a charm and Sweet Traders is a keeper for me! My only regret is that they are not a regular retail bakery and you do need to pre-order. read more

Everything was perfect. We went to them first when looking for cake bakers for our wedding cake. The baker herself greeted us (unlike the cashier at other places). She was friendly and helped us design a wedding cake unique to us. It was the best quality cake we've ever tasted!! Every other bakery we tried was such a let down in comparison. They arrived on time wedding day. We had three tier square cake and everyone kept asking if they were boxes with the cake inside. It was perfectly symmetrical!! I went to a birthday party a couple of years ago and had the BEST cake of my life. Since I was newly engaged I had to find out where this cake came from and when I found out it was Passionate Pastry in Garden Grove, I immediately called them up to make an appointment for a cake tasting. My fiancee and I met with Clare and had a great time at the tasting. We decided on our cake flavors (after tasting ALL the options at least once) and after looking at a few other places couldn't believe the price...a great deal for the QUALITY. Clare personally delivered the cake exactly as promised to the wedding venue and it was a huge hit. I think I had 3 pieces and I noticed several other guests indulging a little extra as well. Being a bit of a foodie, with mostly foodie friends, I was elated by how well the cake was enjoyed by all. Today is our 1 year anniversary and we just had a couple slices of our cake topper we had frozen for a year and were quite surprised how well it held up. Honestly, not as good as our wedding day but surprisingly moist and flavorful for a year in the deep freeze! THANKS CLARE!!! P.S.
