We had such a fun night here! It was quite busy on a Monday so we happily sat at the bar. We usually prefer bar seating anyways. Both bartenders were super friendly and had great suggestions. My husband loved his penicillin cocktail and my pomegranate limeade was fabulous!! We started with the hush puppies which were good but we immediately regretted not getting the bbq nachos. We also split the gumbo and fried chicken plate. Subbed mac n cheese for the slaw it comes with. I am a mac snob and LOVED their mac! It isn't super thick but had amazing flavor. Their portions are huge, we probably should have just spit one dish. Highly recommend both dishes and if you get the gumbo, go for extra spicy!! It's been a few years since I've been here, and in the best way, things haven't changed. Apps: BBQ nachos with brisket. The jalapenos are a mild spicy, and combined with the cheese, brisket, and great chip crunch, this dish would be the hit of the night at any other restaurant. The Caesar salad was refreshing too, with fresh croutons and a light coating of house-made dressing. Meal: I ordered the two-way smoker combo with pork ribs and tri tip, and my dad ordered the gumbo. The ribs were fall-off the bone. Also shoutout to the mac and cheese for a great balance of richness and character (I'm a cheese guy too and picky with mac and cheese) and roasted vegetables that had a great char. Food quality, freshness, and taste is a big part of what brings us back every time my family is in the area (often our schedule revolves around Sweet T's). Service was extremely friendly, attentive, and impressively quick (~5 min per check-in for refills and dirty plate pickups) for a busy restaurant. Ambience is quieter before 5:30 and gets busy by 6, which makes a lot of sense. Highly recommend getting reservations for anything after 5:30 pm. There is a hidden fee (small type mentioned on menu) for an employee living wage. It has increased from 4% to 6%!!! Why doesn't the restaurant increase prices if they can't pay wages? Made a reservation. Went for my birthday. Brought a cake in and was informed immediately that we would be charged $5 per person because we brought our own dessert. So to use their plates and forks it cost $5 a head. Also, they do automatic gratuity on five people or more. The place was crowded so I guess their customers don't care about these ridiculous charges that nickle and dime their customers. I had shrimp and grits. It was good. From the moment we walked in to this restaurant, we felt welcomed by the people and the decor. It's gorgeous inside and on the patio. The place was vibrantly packed with people, drinks and food flowing. Everything was clean which is a huge plus! Sweet T's looks to be a well run operation. Great job! Our server was Chris or Kris. She was amazing! We just knew she was the owner because she had such a warm countenance and she felt like a friend. Chris was easy going, very knowledgeable about the menu and gave great and accurate descriptions to help us decide what to order. Chris and other servers made sure we always had water or a drink refill. The friend chicken plate was yummy. It could have used a tad more seasoning, but I think that is a personal preference. The biscuit was an amazing fluff of flaky soft goodness with a crusty outer texture. It was so good that I wanted a whole basket full. Lol The gumbo was good, but not enough was served to get full. For $33 with sausage, shrimp and chicken with no crab, I thought there would be more gumbo and rice. The ribs and sides were great! So tender! Short ribs were excellent, but again, not enough to get full. Apple salad was a hit! Yum Key lime pie enjoyed as a take out item was so good! All of the other dishes were very tasty as well. Felt scammed on my father-in-law's 65th birthday dinner - unauthorized charges + misleading fees We took a party of 6 to Sweet T's this past weekend to celebrate my wife's father's 65th birthday. Right away we noticed a 6% dine-in fee. Then we were hit with their automatic 20% service fee for parties of 6 or more. That's a combined 26% add-on before tax -- which came to well over $50 in fees on our bill. When the waitress asked if we wanted dessert, we all clearly said no thank you. She brought out a single scoop of plain vanilla ice cream anyway (nothing on it, just ice cream) and then charged us $6 for "birthday ice cream" we never ordered or wanted. To make it worse, when we received the credit card receipt, it only listed the $400+ total and included suggested tip amounts starting at 20%. This was on top of the 20% service fee they had already automatically added to the bill. It felt deliberately confusing and designed to get people to tip extra on money that was already supposed to cover gratuity. The food itself was fine, but the billing practices felt predatory. Charging for something we explicitly declined, stacking high mandatory fees, and then using a misleading tip prompt on the receipt after an already-included service charge is not how you treat customers -- especially on a family birthday celebration. Large parties: be very careful here. Ask upfront about every single fee and auto-gratuity. Watch what they bring to the table after you say no. And double-check your final bill and credit card receipt closely. We won't be back. read more

It's been awhile since I last visited Sweet T's and my experience left me wondering why it's been so long. First, the service by Karen was excellent, polite, friendly and accurate. The food was on point for everything - hot, fresh, tasty and cooked perfectly. Notably, the bbq (brisket, pork and chicken) and fried chicken could not have been better, in any way. All the sides were also amazing. The drinks were prepared to perfection, with no misses at the table. For a southern bbq restaurant in California, this is about as good as gets. read more

We came here for my mom's 80th birthday and it did not disappoint. 4.5 stars for sure. The interior is super swanky and the outside patio is covered and warm. Anjalina was the most accommodating and gracious server. I was trying to hold to the Whole 30 diet for my mom's birthday and she helped me find a perfectly wonderful meal to stay compliant. Unfortunately, I am not going to rate food this time because that's unfair to the restaurant. Lol. But my husband got a 1/4 lb of sausage and tri tip and a side biscuit. This is our second or third visit and it's so good every time. I recommend making a reservation - we came on a Thursday evening and they had limited reservation times available. We chose to sit out on the patio but the indoor seating is very nice as well. We always start with a half order of the pulled pork bbq nachos. The meat is so tender and flavorful and even the half order is enough for two people. I'd get the full order if your party was any bigger. We each got the brisket bbq sandwich which came with fries. I asked our server (I forgot his name but he was amazing) what his favorite choice of meat was, and we went with that. The brisket is the way to go. The meat was tender, they give you a huge portion, and the slaw on top was very flavorful as well. The only thing I would change was my "dirty" martini. It tasted like straight vodka with a few olives tossed in, no olive juice. But other than that, the meal was amazing per usual. I think the first time I tried this place I ordered the catfish & it was okay to me. This time I ordered the fried chicken which was okay but I'm not all that crazy about. But the sides.. omg! The greens are so tasty! I should've ordered 2 of them. The hush puppies are super delicious especially when you apply the butter on them! Mmm! My coleslaw was coleslaw & my Mac & cheese was cheesy but watery. My father & the rest of fam loved their dinners so maybe my taste buds are alittle off coming back home from the Midwest! I absolutely love Sweet Ts! The food is amazing, the atmosphere is great, and the staff is typically attentive and friendly. My husband and I love to sneak in for a quick date at the bar and on occasion bring the whole family for a sit down meal. The food is absolutely delicious and very approachable for a variety of ages and dietary restrictions. The food and drinks, are quiet pricy. My husband and I ordered an appetizer each and two drinks and the bill was over $115. It feels very high to us for nachos and Mac and cheese but we appreciate at atmosphere and use the time as a special date. We were super disappointed last time we visited. I ordered a cocktail which was delicious and then a glass of wine. The wine came from the tap and tasted absolutely aweful. I assumed it came from a bottle that had been open too long and didn't think much of it. With each sip my mouth watered and it became uncomfortable. I made a few comments to the bartender and pushed the wine away to share I wouldn't drink it. My husbands Russian River STS was cloudy which again we didn't think anything of, but the beer should have been clear. It tasted okay so we split it given I couldn't drink the wine. The bartender charged me the full $16 for a glass of wine that was repugnant. We both got very sick that afternoon. We assume the draft lines were either dirty or still had cleaning solution in them. We'll pay more attention and ensure the staff takes our complaints seriously next time. We will be back because this was just one bad experience in a flood of many great ones but it will likely be a while. read more

The meat just did not deliver for the price above 3 stars. Ter had better tri tip at a friend's house who smoked it for 12+ hours - it just wasn't moist and tender like I expected. The ribs came off of the bone okay. The sides were delicious. The mac and cheese, greens, and potato salad were the best. I would probably not get the coleslaw again, just okay. Biscuit was yummy. Not sure I would return, price versus quality, and it's a ways away from us. If I did I would get a much smaller portion of meat and mostly come for the sides. This is my second time coming here and I thoroughly enjoy it every time, primarily because of the ambiance and the customer service. The fact that I had a similar experience both times lets me know that this place is consistently good. The food however is just ok. From what I remembered during my first visit the hush puppies and salmon were good! This time around we started with the Brussels sprouts and buffalo cauliflower. The Brussels had a good kick to it and was really Crispy. The cauliflower had amazing flavor, but was soggy. For my entree I got the gumbo. It was a little salty and the shrimp was definitely overcooked, wouldn't recommend. All in all, I like this place! Definitely worth a visit. Sweet T's was highly recommended to us by friends so we made it a point to visit while we were in town for a show. We heard it was very popular, so we made a reservation for four. We ended up arriving early (3:20ish) and they were able to seat us at a booth in the bar area right away. The booth was pretty big and so cushy I felt like I was at a kid's table with how high it was compared to the seat. It wasn't my favorite booth seating. Our server was also the bartender and was friendly and made some recommendations. We ended up ordering a beer ($8), sweet tea ($4), and the 3 Way Smoker Combo ($42) with pulled pork, ribs and brisket as well as the mac and cheese and fried okra. The fried okra was our favorite part of the meal. It was crunchy and flavorful and while it came with some great ranch, it didn't need it. The mac and cheese was also very flavorful and you can tell it was made to order because the noodles were still al dente in the sauce. The ribs, pulled pork and brisket were all flavorful and cooked well and it came with two bbq sauce choices to try. The ribs were my favorite, followed by the brisket, but my husband enjoyed the pulled pork more than the brisket. I don't even know where to begin! First of all, this was my 2nd time here (I forgot to leave a review after the first visit but clearly it was good since I came back). All the things we got this time (it was too much because the portions are huge): - smoked old fashioned 10/10 - seasonal burrata with grilled veggies 7/10 (the grilled toasted bread tasted overwhelmingly like smoke and it overpowered the whole dish. Without the bread it was a kind of delicious caprese) - fried chicken slider 10/10 only had one but it was so filling and cooked and seasoned to PERFECTION - Memphis nachos with brisket 17/10 including the next day when I reheat my leftovers because I couldn't eat it all day of - crispy Brussel sprouts were perhaps the best of my life. My friend recommended Sweet T's and I'm glad she did. It's a little place located in a shopping center. The ambiance is delightful. The service was excellent. The food was delicious. We ordered the smoked chicken Cobb salad (the dressing was delicious), the Alaskan Halibut (the sauce had a little kick to it) and we had Mississippi mud pie (yummy!) for dessert. Sweet T's is the best BBQ I've had in NorCal! The beef brisket was amazing! The flavor of the pulled pork was also great. The ribs were also good, and we thought that the sausage was a bit blander in taste compared to the rest of the meats but still good. The sweet potato fries were also crispy and yummy. And the biscuit was perfectly crispy and buttery. We came on July 4 so it was a bit busy, but the service was great! Everything came out fresh. We heard that the restaurant can get pretty busy regularly, but you can make a reservation online so I would recommend doing that in advance. Every component of the bbq plate we got was expertly done, from the bbq down to the veggies. My wife who doesn't even like bbq that much said that she was pleasantly surprised with how good it was and how much she enjoyed the bbq that I shared with her. For the price of meals they charge and the additional BOH fee, you'd think the bar stools and booths and ambiance would be in better condition. I recently sat in a booth and came away with some of the vinyl stuck to my clothes, they're peeling and look like they belong at Zim's from the 70s, and never left! Since the owners are opening up a new restaurant in the near future, you'd think maybe they'd pay a little attention to the existing one as well. Such a great spot! A lovely ambiance for special occasion or date. We enjoyed delicious food, I had a brisket, tri tip combo with cheesy grits. The grits were creamy and delicious! My boyfriend had the shrimp and grits which were also delicious and flavorful. Our waitress was delightful and all of the service staff were friendly and they went above and beyond to be welcoming and helpful without being overbearing. My boyfriend is in a leg brace that can be very difficult to accommodate but they went above and beyond to offer suggestions to make him more comfortable as well as holding the door for him.
