    Huck's Combo with flapjack

We'd been to Huckleberry in Fairfield several times so we're familiar with the menu. This morning we dropped into the Santa Rosa location for the second time in over a year. Hubby & I each ordered the Huck Combo. Choice of 1/2 waffle, one flapjack or 1/2 French toast with two eggs and choice of bacon or sausage. It doesn't sound like a lot but it was very satisfying. Our coffee cups were refilled. This location opened soon after the pandemic eased up two years ago. Plenty of parking in the premise parking lot.

I have never been to Huckleberry's so my wife and I decided to give it a try. We entered at around 1 pm on a Thursday and it wasn't busy and were immediately greeted by a pleasant young staff that seated us and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We perused the menu and I went to one of my "go-to" breakfasts, chicken fried steak and eggs. My wife ordered the Mississippi skillet with sausage, bacon, bell peppers, onion and melted cheese. We both just had water as we had our coffee shortly before arriving. The place was decorated with a Louisiana theme of the Bayou complete with alligators and Bayou decorations. The place was clean and the service was great. The female server, sorry I didn't remember her name, was great. The food came fairly quickly and looked great. My wife liked her skillet and said that she would order it again. She said it could have used a little more seasoning and asked for some salsa. The salsa came in a little container, looked like a standard Pace Picante salsa, and did not look or taste homemade. My chicken fried steak was great and was a good-sized portion. The country potatoes were good but not great. Could have used more seasoning for my taste. It was a country style with large chunks of onion and peppers. The biscuit was warm and tasted good but as it cooled, it started to quickly dry out. I think they would be great with the gravy over them to keep them moist and flavorful. We both agreed that we would come back as overall, it was a very good experience.

Hotel next door recommended this spot. Not bad for southern food, the Cajun eggs Benedict came with a kick. Banana foster platter was okay, we didn't appreciate the fried green tomato for our taste. Other than that great little dinner if you are in the area.

Food was good. Drinks were delicious, I recommend the gator juice. Portions were very large. Service was good as well.

Came in on a weekday for lunch around noon and we were seated right away in a booth. Service was friendly! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Interior decorations are Bayou-themed and fun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Menu is large and pretty standard for an American brunch/lunch place. My boyfriend and I ordered two entrees to split. The first was the stacked chicken and waffles, which isn't on the main menu but is inserted (possibly seasonal?). My first impression was that it was extremely saucy. This was not a surprise given the menu description but I wished that the sauces were more on the chicken and less on the top half of the waffle. I am a fan of sweet/savory combos in general, but I will say that the ranch on the waffle was a bit off-putting to me. Again, would've been great on the chicken. The chicken itself was decently crispy. The dish also came with a side of maple syrup but given that there was already some drizzled on the plate, the waffles were definitely dressed enough without me needing to add more syrup. I also removed the giant pad of butter; while I am a fan of butter on waffles, it was all just a lot. If I ever ordered this again I might consider requesting all the sauces on the side, because I think by themselves both the chicken and waffles were decent, just over-saturated and overwhelmed with other flavors. The second entree we tried was the breakfast burrito with sausage. We asked for the Creole sauce on the side, and this was kind of like a salsa-adjacent tomato and onion sauce with a pretty thin consistency and lots of veggie chunks. As some other reviewers have mentioned, the burrito was incredibly under-seasoned. Salt definitely helps, but I was very underwhelmed with this burrito. The cheese melted on top was an interesting choice but once it cooled down it wasn't great. Decent ratio of ingredients inside the burrito, but overall pretty unimpressive.

I love anything Cajun and my husband and I have been excited to try this place. The restaurant's decor is wonderful and on-point with the bayou vibe. My husband and I both ordered their Cajun Benedict, which was a thick slice of toasted sourdough topped with tomato (I asked for none on mine), two slices of andouille sausage, two poached eggs (husband asked for over hard), hollandiase, and green onions. The dish also came with their red breakfast potatoes. The sausage was delicious and the eggs and hollandaise were perfect. My sourdough got very soggy but probably due to the runny eggs. My husbands fared better having had the eggs over hard. Their potatoes were great and cooked well. I realized after we'd gotten done eating that you can upgrade your potatoes to "Bayou" style which is cooked with onions and peppers. I probably would have preferred that. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and can't wait to go back to try some of their lunch/dinner items.

We tried to eat here about six months ago but it was terribly crowded. The parking lot and waiting area were full so we left. We ended up here again on a late Sunday afternoon due to a friend's recommendation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff are pleasant and the décor had a southern feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have an extensive and varied menu. They serve up traditional dishes such as eggs benedict, scrambles and burgers but also cajun/creole fare such as chicken and waffles, catfish, fried green tomatoes, and of course, beignets. Drinks are served in mason jars and there are rolls of paper towels on each table. Since we were seated in the front area near the entry, I could not get a true sense of this restaurant. I could see an adjoining dining room with an alligator on the roof. We started off with fried green tomatoes. They were hot and came with a ranch-like dip. We also ordered their chicken and waffles, California Chicken sandwich (grilled chicken breast, bacon, avocado, jack cheese, lettuce and tomato). It came with the most delicious french fries that were seasoned perfectly. The cajun breakfast platter came with 2 poached eggs, Andouille sausage, and tomato on a slice of sourdough and choice of potatoes. The chicken and waffles were chicken tenders, Belgian waffle and 2 eggs. Our cheerful server was Lizet who was efficient and personable. We had a good experience and will return again to try out other dishes and get another order of those french fries! They close at 3:00 everyday.

Started off fine, but then we sat down and the waiter came up to us. Service: 0/5 Wow this man was rude. Never had such a rude waiter before. I don't know what his problem was but normal waiters introduce themselves and ask how you are etc. Nothing from this guy. We ask for more time to review the menu and he just walks away. Okay fine dude. We finally order and his responses were so rude. I ordered for the whole table and his demeanor was not it. He would scoff and then when I would ask questions about the menu, he was being so rude about it. When we were being given our check, he didn't even put it in one of those black folders or anything. "Leave your card here when you're ready" Like excuse me sir? He even SLAMMED the freaking receipt on the table. You're such an ass dude. seriously? Then I asked for a takeout box and he ignored me. Fuck you too man. Onto the food after me being pissed off at this man. Coffee: 0/5 don't get it. it tastes like sugar milk. Crab cakes: 3/5 only redeeming dish. You could leave the hash on the stove a bit longer please. Chicken and waffles: 2/5 it was okay. Waffles are waffles honestly. Chicken was kinda dry. Might be a good idea to get syrup bottles instead of using tiny single use sauce containers. New Orleans skillet: -5/5 omg don't get it. the shrimp tastes old af and nothing seemed to come together in this dish. Giving this place a 1/5 because service was a literal shit show. I saw him be soooo nice to the table in front of us. i just low key feel like you were being racist or something but what do i know? ‍

It was just an average visit. We were greeted warmly and seated quickly. I went to use the restroom and an employee was washing her hands on her way out. It wasn't until I used again after my lunch that the bathroom was being tended to. The trash was overflowing, TP on the floors of stall along with a dirty toilet stall during the 1st round. Then we noticed while waiting for our food, service was quite slow for bussing and cleaning tables. Our table of paper towels were almost out so I changed rolls from the table next to us. Usually when prepping a table for the next guest, shakers are filled, condiment bottles are checked along with paper napkin holder. The restaurant itself was clean and orderly. Silverware is served in its separate bag for Covid protocol. Our server was pleasant and attentive. The food we ordered was aesthetically pleasing. Large enough portions with cost to match. The creole sauce they pair with some of their entrees was quite flavorful with a hint of spice. My breakfast burrito was tasty and my husbands Dixie steak sandwich was good as well. The French fries were served hot to taste so beware but were good. We would visit again to try other items on the menu.
