Let me start by saying the music and the water were the highlights of our visit. Unfortunately, everything else was extremely disappointing. We waited over 15 minutes just to receive our drinks, and there were only five people dining in the restaurant at the time. After finally placing our order, the waffle arrived cold and had to be sent back. The cornbread was also cold and bland, as were the chicken and the mac and cheese. Throughout the meal, our server never came back to check on us or ask if we needed anything. When we asked to speak with a manager, the server told us the owner was present and said she would have her come over. Instead, we were told the owner was on a call and that we should email her because she "already knew what the problem was." That response was frustrating, considering she never spoke to us at all. She walked past our table several times and could clearly see the untouched, unpleasant food but never acknowledged or greeted us. Everyone enjoyed the collard greens, corn bread, fried chicken, cheese grits, and Mac and Cheese We went to go pick it up on location and unfortunately due to the pride festival we weren't able to park right outside to load accordingly. Me and 2 of my friends went to this restaurant 2 weeks ago. The bill came up to $82 each. We all checked our account a few days later and noticed that we were charged $116 each. How??? The receipt we all signed said $81.47 each. Absolutely loved it here! The service was quick and we had a really good server who was welcoming and gave suggestions as it was our first time there. The overall feel of the place was chill, had some good r&b music playing which I was singing along to lol And least but not least the food .. delicious! The food tasted fresh! My sister and I went there for dinner. The atmosphere was very nice. Plenty of space and nice decor, music enhanced the ambiance, just loud enough to vibe but not interfere with conversations. While the food turned out to be delicious I was pleasantly surprised because the menu seemed all over the place. Came here on a Saturday early evening right before an event at Wellmont Theatre. I made a reservation for three but at the last minute, one had to cancel. Been trying to get to Sweet T's since it opened and I'm glad I finally did. Nice place on the main strip of Montclair. I had the catfish, mac n cheese and potato salad. I really enjoyed everything. One person brought us to the table, while another person brought us a high chair and another person took our order in a way that seemed carefully choreographed. I went with a friend for dinner, it wasn't overly crowded and we made reservations a few days before for 6:30 on a Friday. The staff was welcoming and the ambiance was very chill but also had its touches of art and luxury with the royal blues and yellows. The background music was R&B of the 70s through the 90's, a plus. Our server was Ebony, pleasant and gracious. The food in a word, superb. For appetizer we had fried okra, perfectly cooked with a tasty aioli. We also shared fried wings. The coating just thick enough and fried just right. For an entree I had the shrimp and grits. The grits were savory with enough cheese. Creamy goodness paired delicious shrimp. My wife had fried catfish (perfect!) with sides of black eyed peas (perfect again) and macaroni and cheese. The Mac and cheese was a disappointing, a little on the dry side. DO NOT let that deter you. Everything here was delicious. Good southern cooking is hard to find. We came here for Sunday brunch with a party of five, and while most of us enjoyed the food, the service really missed the mark. Four out of five of us liked our meals--flavors were solid and portions were fair but the experience was overshadowed by the service. Our waitress seemed visibly annoyed anytime we asked a question, and at one point, she skipped over my mom completely when taking our order. We had to flag her down to get it corrected. There was very little warmth or attentiveness throughout the brunch, which made us feel more like a burden than guests. To top it off, the tip was included in the bill, which wouldn't have been an issue if the service had matched even basic expectations. Unfortunately, you could tell there was no effort to earn it.
