When I came this morning I literally had the best waffle in my entire life like I'm serious there's nothing better than this.

I orderd a fried flounder sandwiche with chips it was pretty good. Also i had a small cookie and cream ice cream reasonable priced

Fun fact - They do dinner, and it deserves some praise! Farm-to-table is their style with a majority of their locally grown from the families farm or sourced from local vendors. I had a NY strip steak and it was the best steak I've had in a long time - cooked perfectly and seasoned well with garlic butter. Also my bf had the mussels in homemade fettuccini pasta with red sauce - also delicious. Other items to note was their spinach artichoke dip - they could sell this in stores it was so good! Lastly was their coconut cream pie, five star for sure - creamy filling and crispy crust, like something my grandmom would make. The owners came out to personally talk to us about the meal, where the ingredients were from and get feedback. Very nice folks and a true farm-to-table operation. Cute little cafe hidden in the quaint town of Ambler. Intimate eating area inside with cute patio out front. I sat outside this morning and had the entire patio to myself! I was going to be working tonight and decided on something other than the Mexican place that was recommended. Didn't want anything too filling. Seemed promising from others reviews, the ice cream sold me on trying it. Got a roast beef sandwich, it tasted good but was a bit tough. I finished off with a strawberry milk shake. Flavor was a tad bland. More like ice milk than ice cream. Even had a few chunks of frozen milk in it that I thought was chunks of strawberries getting stuck in the straw it that wasn't it. Maybe breakfast would be better for me. But as I am traveling I doubt I can give it another chance. read more

This is our favorite local place for every meal and every snack. Eggs benedicts to die for, great bean burgers, great breakfasts - love their special meal offerings. AND of course, the best ice cream shop!! Love eating outside under their umbrellas. Love their staff. It's like an Ambler welcome mat. Want an amazing breakfast?! Stop at SweetBriar Cafe! I'm very surprised to see that they received some poor reviews because this place is great! With working in the town of Ambler, this is walking distance from my office. The cafe is super cute inside and homey. They also offer outside seating as well which is nice during the warm months. They also have an outside window where you can order all different flavors of ice cream which is super tasty as well. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming. Normally, I order takeout so I can eat back at the office. Every single time, it's ready in 10mins or less. Even when sitting in the service is extremely quick. The food tastes so fresh and is always cooked to perfection. I've tried their omelets several times and they are delicious! The potatoes that come with it are awesome so yummy. You can tell the food comes right off the stove and was not sitting around soaking up moisture like most restaurants. Even the english muffins are fabulous. The pancakes are out of this world! I only ordered them while dining in so I'm not sure how they would taste when ordering out but they are so good. Fluffy, light and savory everything you expect from a perfect pancake. I could seriously eat them everyday. I have not tried any other meals besides breakfast but I do plan on enjoying some new dishes soon! Ignore the negative reviews because they aren't true!! Horrible place said 15-20 for pick up waited about 25-30. Go home open my order to take a bite of my meat lovers omelet and it has no cheese inside. Staff was rude. No one spoke when I walked into the very small Cafe that had no customers. Just awkward eye contact. When I walked up and asked for a coffee I received an attitude as if I was bothering the staff to give them my patronage. Paid $3 for my small coffee and it's not even that great anyway. Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The restaurant was busy but the staff were very pleasant and efficient in keeping things moving. I ordered the omelet special which was a flank steak omelet. It was loaded with onions and cheese but barely any steak. My wife ordered a Greek omelet without spinach. There was no discernible feta cheese in the omelet. Not sure I would rush back for breakfast but having had the ice cream in the past will continue to come here for dessert. read more

What a fantastic cute little cafe in Ambler! I stopped by first thing in the morning before I headed to work on a Saturday. I picked up an egg and turkey sausage sandwich and a hot chocolate with a splash of coffee. The sandwich was perfect, none of the greasy gross stuff that most people serve. The hot chocolate with a spash of coffee is now going to be my new go to drink at this place because it was perfect for a cold rainy day. The staff was friendly (even at 8am), the ingredients were fresh, and the service was fast. I work a stones throw away from the place, so believe me when I say, Ill be back! read more

We were babysitting grandsons and our daughter recommended we go here to kill a block of time - eat a leisurely lunch and then get ice cream before heading back to the house. Really glad she suggested it! We all enjoyed our sandwiches and we sampled the ice cream, the Italian water ice, and a root beer float. Four thumbs up! I had been craving a Patty Melt for a long time now but afraid to try something like that without a recommendation. When I saw that they had high ratings for their burgers, I decided to give it a try. It was exactly what I was craving. Bonus points for asking me how I wanted it cooked, and then cooking it to that doneness perfectly. Not always easy to do with a grilled sandwich. Would love to go again. read more

Cute family friendly place with nice workers and delicious ice cream, what more can you ask for?

With a group of local and far-flung friends for Sunday brunch. We arrived a little before 11am and it was packed, only a couple of tables unshaded from the sun on a 90 degree day; no available tables inside either. A shaded outdoor table opened up, was prepped, and was ours less than five minutes after we arrived. We were near the door to the kitchen and the ice maker and it was LOUD; also, there was some vases or something full of (rain?) water and trash closer to my seat than makes me comfortable. It took a little while for the service to begin and I got a strong sense this is a family run establishment. Once the service began, the staff was attentive enough. A friend got a smoothie which she enjoyed and ate every crumb of her multigrain avocado toast with a runny egg; I couldn't finish the greek omelette, though I wanted to (the home fries were meh and I didn't eat the toast). The friend who got the blt and fries enjoyed her meal and the friend who ordered a buttered bagel and side of scrapple was delighted with her chosen indulgence. I attempted to go to Sweet Briar Cafe last night on a 1st date...it was raining, and the staff was rude and super unhelpful. They wouldn't seat us at a table (even though the place was dead) & wouldn't even take our ice cream order inside -- they actually wanted us to go back out into the rain to place our order through the window. They could have easily helped us, but they didn't. So they didn't get our business. We went to Alice's Bakery instead. I don't recommend Sweet Briar and I won't be back. read more

Hands down, my favorite restaurant in Ambler! Food is excellent, for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Their banana pancakes and German apple pancakes are amazing. I am also partial to their monkey sandwich (grilled peanut butter and banana). Sweet potato fries are great, as is the ice cream! It's a small place but there's something that I love about that -- very homey. I've always been able to get a table. This place has so much potential, but fell a little flat. Waitress was super friendly and nice, but completely overworked. We waited almost an hour for our food when there restaurant was not full, and it was just okay. My toast came buttered even when I asked for it dry. The sweet potato fries were too sweet - they had cinnamon sugar on them. Eggs were fine. Home fries were oily and just barely cooked enough. I called ahead about my daughters allergies and was told by Zack that I could look at an allergy menu and that they would accommodate for the allergy. When I got there the girl with all the face piercing looked at me like I was crazy when I asked to see the allergy menu. At first she told me they didn't have one. Then one appeared. I've been going here since they were coneheads! Sweet Briar is a quaint little place! The staff is friendly, the food is great and isn't expensive, but the service in the cafe is better than going on an ice cream run. I waited in line for a bit which I didn't mind, but after we ordered, they completely forgot our order. At least ten people who ordered after us had been served and we had to ask where ours was. (however I don't think I will) As my friends and I entered, a large group was just coming out. I walked in (barely fitting through the door) and noticed how small the inside was. AND I MEAN SMALL. Keep in mind I'm on the heavier side (but not morbidly obese) and I wouldn't even attempt to fit in a booth. Luckily we only wanted ice cream. The ice cream selection isn't too big, and full of typical flavors. The lady who helped us was super boring and bland. It felt like I was talking to cardboard. I've gone here a few times and I really enjoy it. For starters, it's almost a hole in the wall and that's what I like about it. There are about 5 booths, 3 tables in the whole place and it really adds to the home-y feel. The food that comes out is no frills and that's what's really good about it; a really great place to grab some eggs, toast, and a cup of coffee. It's simple, and uncomplicated. Great Lunch! The "Quinoa Mac & Cheese", (basically removes the elbow noodles and adds quinoa instead) with a blend of cheeses made this a delicious dish. My "Chicken Florentine" cheesesteak, with sautéed spinach, garlic (heavy on the garlic) & provolone cheese was delicious, like no other cheesesteak I've ever had. I've been to SweetBriar twice, once for breakfast and once for ice cream, and the experience was satisfactory both times. Their breakfast is quite good, especially the perfectly crisped potatoes, and they don't give you a disgusting amount of food. On our most recent visit, our waitress was rather unfortunate. First she forgot to ask for my omelet to be made with egg whites. Then she gave my boyfriend 3 pancakes instead of the 4 he ordered. No ketchup or refill was ever offered.
