We walk inside and they tell us if we want ice cream we have to walk back outside. I asked if we can order it outside can we eat inside & they said no because they were serving dinner. Perfect little diner. Stopped in for lunch and got a turkey hoagie. The turkey and tuna were fresh and my fiancé couldn't believe the turkey wasn't deli meat but actually roasted turkey homemade. It was fresh and affordable. The ice cream looked delicious and apparently he grew up going their for ice cream, which makes me want to support it even more when in the area. Came for some brunch and ice cream afterwards. Couldn't resist ordering a burger since it is voted "best burger." Sticking with the breakfast theme, I got the Wake Up Burger with an egg. Very good burger, but I wouldn't call it the best. Enjoyed the ice cream as well. Only downside is service a bit lackluster, slow and made two errors with our order. Also, as other reviewers have said, ithe setup is a bit weird that you can look at all the ice cream displayed inside but you have to order it outside. read more

I felt very unwelcomed here. My friends and I are young adults and minorities and as soon as we walked in the establishment the atmosphere seemed unwelcoming and we felt disrespected. While we were waiting for our waitress who was taking a long time to take out our order, a family walked in and they greeted them with "Hellos" unlike the way the greeted us. read more

As much as I love this restaurant, I had to give them three stars because of the length of service. Servers are very nice and helpful ( usually the same guy), but the food takes forever. The first time I went, I had no problem having a long lunch because I had nowhere to be, but the last time I went, I did, and I kept looking at my clock thinking I was going to be late. Not the place to go if you're in a hurry (they weren't even busy...there were five other people in the restaurant). Food is great, nothing totally memorable, but I always go with the specials. They always seem to be a step above what's on the menu. And of course...go for the ice cream! Best place in town. read more

If I could give a zero star I really would! I had simply asked for an ice cream. The lady who worked stared at me for that extra couple of seconds as if I were her worst enemy and then asked: cone or cup? There was so much anger and hatred that I thought it was because I was Asian... Needlessly to say the next customer, who was white, was greeted with a nice smile. KKK anyone? The ice cream was so so to bad depending on what flavor....If you are Asian go somewhere else. . Unless you wanna feel like trash or angry. SweetBriar is the sweetest little cafe. Their food is delicious. I seriously haven't had a bad thing from their menu, and their specials are always great. And if their food wasn't great enough, their dessert is so good. All of their ice cream flavors are good, but Mint Cookie has to be my favorite. read more

Their food is good and fresh, but their smoothies are seriously THE WORST I've ever had. I think it's just plain yogurt, with whatever fruit sorta blended in... LOTS of chucks, not sweet in the least. I understand that you want to make it healthy, but you could use a couple tbsps of sherbet/sorbet, at least one fruit in purée form, cut it with Apple juice? Something. Oh, and my wife's gotten pancakes to go from you twice, could you please not put the "butter" IN with the pancake container? It melts, and then separates and it's even leaked out of the box once before. read more

Insult added to injury when I received a rudimentary tutorial in mathematics from the manager when I questioned whether I received value for my $5 bill. So I had a craving for vanilla soft serve ice cream. My wife and stepson were out, so I put the dogs in the crates, went to an ATM and parked in the lot across the street. I then waited in line for ten min. And when I got to the window I just wanted a medium waffle cone with vanilla soft serve. Much to my surprise I was told....."sorry sir we just ran out." My response was "Seriously? It's the height of the ice cream season, it's 90 degrees out here, so how do you run out of soft serve?" I wanted one thing not Moose track or peanut butter ripple! I had the Eggs Benedict special with shrimp. It was quite possibly the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had in my life. The shrimp were huge, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The eggs were perfect as well. Just what Ambler needed. Located in the former Coneheads is a little breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert spot that is simple and great. We had breakfast, and it was our first visit. The waitstaff greeted us with a smile and were extremely pleasant. The food was very good. We had chocolate chip pancakes, a vegetable omelet and a breakfast sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their food. The service was very good. The coffee was good and we left very satisfied. Definitely will return. read more

Yes...this place is a hole in the wall..and the floors...and the ceiling.The floors were from when I was in elementary school...large hole in one of the tiles.Walls had stains all around...very sloppy paint job.They did have nice artwork trying to cover up this fact.Now onto the service..took forever to get our coffee and water...took a customers order who came in 2 tables after us first.Onto the food...so so.Typical DINER food.Not quite sure why the boast farm to table.nothing I got was a fresh product.Now onto the price slash portion...way to expensive for the about of food you get...still trying to figure out how this place won any awards. read more

Just went for ice cream but it was great! There have been a few occasions I have gone and it has been good but tonight the s'mores sundae was rock star. Hot fudge was excellent, sweet but not too sugary, and you could taste the chocolate. Glam slam ice cream was fantastic! Must try! Happy we keeping returning. read more

I came here with my sister for breakfast while I was in town and I must say, this is going to be a frequent stop for me. The food was solid - tasty & good portions. This is a weekly spot for my family - there breakfast & lunch specials are delicious. The staff is very friendly and the dining area has the perfect neighborhood cozy feel to it. Everything is amazing from the pancakes to onion rings. Today I had the "don" which was absolutely amazing!! It's not something I would usually order but it had so much flavor - honestly one of the best things I have EVER eaten. You need to try this place! Free mimosas on Sundays!! There was quite a buzz in town about this place when the new owners changed the name, kept the ice cream shop and improved the food. Anyone who is simply upset that the name is changed should just get over it! To begin with, the owner is extremely nice and will take the time to chat with you even when the place is busy. I've been here for both brunch and dinner and the service was great both times. For brunch, I ordered an egg and cheese on an english muffin and while I usually prefer to make mine with a fried egg, I really enjoyed Sweet Briar's fresh scrambled version. The homefries I ordered on the side were made with real potatoes and had a perfect amount of spices on them. The real treat though was the meatcakes! Don't let the name scare you away. These brilliant combinations of pancakes and breakfast meat were absolutely delicious. And be sure to try the whole wheat pancake mix. On a separate occasion, I had a cheesesteak hoagie for dinner and was quite impressed. Chopped steak, perfect amount of cheese, and an amazing roll make this Philly classic worth going back for another. The only bad thing about this place is that the food is so filling, it's tough to find room for ice cream! read more

ThIs is for the ice cream, not food inside, which i have not tried. I thought about trying (maybe still will)'but the ice cream staff can be so non-caring and slow, it put me off from sampling the "inside" food,,which sounds lovely. Have been going here for years, and I want to support local businesses. Why they cannot do a better job at window service astounds me. Lines are Long...okay, it,is summer. But why does it take so long once you get there? Let's see: one person working, the rest running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Only ONE window open during the height of the season and busiest times. VERY inconsistent cone sizes. Sometimes medium is tiny, sometimes generous. Especially true with the soft serve, which CAN BE wonderful. Or a soft mess. We are fans of cherry vanilla and asked why they didn't have it. "Oh ran out" really? We ran into the nelsons delivery man and said it wasn't even re-ordered. We came 3-4 times every week last year-at least four of us - and now most times we walk away. Just be honest and say you would rather carry bubblegum or whatever, which is always available. It truly makes us sad, because we want to love you, we really do. And we will probably try breakfast. Maybe the inside staff is more competent. read more

I love this cute little shop. Now it's the only place to get breakfast in town, and it's a good last option. Great ice cream in the summer, and the food in the restaurant part is surprisingly very good. Great service, nice hometown feel. Over Christmas when I was visiting my parents, I felt just like I was back in high school hanging out at the diner. I had brunch outside at Sweet Briar cafe today. It took over a half hour to get served. When it was time to pay I gave the waitress my credit card. She finally returned and told me she lost my credit card. She seemed rather unconcerned and basically said 'I looked in my pockets and couldn't find it'. Another woman came out and said 'No problem, you can always call the credit card company and put a stop your card. Its no big deal'... But it was for me. She asked for my name and number and said she would call if they found it. After about a half hour somebody in the kitchen found my card. I am waiting to see how many unauthorized charges are on my card - but I will never eat there again or recommend it to anyone. I have never had any establishment or waitress lose my card. She was totally incompetent. They do not care about their customers, the amount of time we had to wait for overcooked eggs - and are especially unconcerned about your money and credit cards. I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND THE WHOLE STAFF HAVING ACCESS TO YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. read more

The food was pretty good, but the service was terrible. While friendly and nice, it took forever for someone to just bring us a menu and take our order. We were sitting at the table in the corner which may have been a reason we were overlooked. Someone kept coming over to ask if we had a menu or if our order had been taken and said they would be right back and then the next person said the same thing. A few tables came after us got served and left before us. Putting the service aside, the food was pretty decent. I got the Lindenwold, which for 7.25 or 7.50 gave me 2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast, 4 slices of really thing bacon, 2 pancakes, and home fries. Very good value. The toast came pre buttered which i thought was a nice touch, but some may not like it like that. My pancakes were the best part of my meal. Kind of crispy around the edges and fluffy in the center. Home fries looked like they were the last of the morning which may be because we went at 11. My hubs got the John Wayne omelette - which is the typical western omelette. It is made with 3 eggs was a great portion. Also served with toast and home fries. He wished they had given a little more home fries to match the ginormous omelette he had! The 2 eggs I ordered with mine came cooked like i ordered which is always nice. Not incredibly hard to do, but so disappointing when butchered. I will probably give them another try, I think the service today was not their norm and I always hear great things about this quaint place from my friends. I do like that they are farm to table, and I love that they use the locals. The hot sauce they used was from Oreland - which I can't remember the name, but remember sampling it at Whole Foods before. I don't know if coffee was just on the house or if they forgot to charge but our total bill was 15 something with tax, so it was pretty great for all that we got..however, what I thought would be a quick breakfast turned into one that was way over an hour. Maybe when I go back again I will add an extra star if the service picks up! read more

We got together at this sweet find for a girls' lunch and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. It is a tiny space with only a few tables. We had Briar Turkey Wrap, Turkey Reuben, Mad Murphy and I had a veggie omelette. We each had an order of sweet potato fries. Everything was great, and the service was very friendly and attentive. Of all the years I've lived here never knew this place was more than an ice cream shop, glad I discovered it. Will be back. We want to like this place but they make it hard. We have gone several times to the ice cream window and while the ice cream is good, the experience is terrible. They aren't able to fill orders efficiently and they cant even keep orders straight or fill them correctly. Wish they could work this out so we could enjoy their ice cream in the future. read more
