This ice cream was dreamy--rich, creamy, and flavorful, it was really really good. A friend and I stopped in on our way up to Portland because we heard such good things. It seriously delivered. We both got a flight because we couldn't decide which flavor we wanted most (and the man manning the counter said we could try them all if we wanted, which was kind and awesome). Each flavor was better than the last. We sat at the tables in the lobby of the store to enjoy and just loved every bite. I can't wait to come through again next time I'm in the area. We wanted homemade or locally made ice cream and this place delivered! Their flavors were very interesting including Earl Grey, Lemon Poppyseed, among others. My mom got the brown butter crunch and loved it. My dad and I got the "what the fluff," which I can't even remember everything in it but it was GOOD. I think it was a sweetcream base with marshmallow fluff and peanut butter crunches? So so good. The small will fill you up as their scoops are very generous! Also super friendly service. Sweetcream is located in the Pepperell Center, close to Portland Pie and The Yard, and you can access it from the walk up window on come inside the building. The ice cream is good, fresh, local, and not cheap - a small cup was nearly $4.00 with the tax added in. This is worth checking out, especially if you're downtown for the Art Walk or Wednesday night's concerts in nearby Shevenell Park. Parking at the mill is always tough but I don't know of anyone who gave up because there was really no place to park anywhere. They also had a rhubarb sorbet with a sign on it that said "vegan". A little underwhelmed. My daughter and I ordered sundaes, and the hot fudge was neither warm or liquified; it was more like Magic Shell, and there was hardly any on mine. The whipped cream was very creamy, which was a bonus - I assume that is homemade. The mint chip was definitely unusual, but interesting. The chocolate ice cream is tasty, and also very creamy. They only have about 12 or so flavors and seem a little overpriced. I was hopeful that this would become a mainstay in our summer ice cream circuit, alongside Dairy Corner, Garsides and other favorites. We'll give it another go next summer I suppose, but not a top tier choice for us at this stage. read more

My wife had the lemon poppy seed and I had the key lime pie. Icy cold and deliciously creamy.
