Stopped here on a Friday morning for brunch. It was pretty busy, but there were still a couple of tables open. We were seated right away and asked for our drink orders. We ordered the Nutella crepes, crème brulee French toast, Denver omelet, and two birria skillets. When the food was brought out, they gave us two birria omelets instead of the skillets. We decided it was fine and stuck with the omelets then. Everything was pretty good, but especially the crème brûlée French toast! It was crispy and had great flavor.
So darn good! The decor is wonderful, the food is spectacular, and the staff couldn't be better. What's more Milwaukee than a sausage and cheese curd omelet? Delicious!
This is a cute spot that makes for a great breakfast and brunch place. There's plenty of seating. It's spacious, bright, comfy, and clean. The staff were all friendly and attentive. And we never felt rushed or anything. The menu is plentiful with lots of different options, both sweet and savory. And the portions are plentiful. I opted for the birria omelette which was delicious. Incredibly yum and very filling. I would definitely recommend this spot and will be back.
Sweet Diner remains a favorite breakfast/brunch spot in MKE - especially with girlfriends aesthetically it is so cute an girly with its mid-century yet chic vibes. I love the marble tops and pink accents. We went at 9am today and had no wait which was a pleasant surprise seeing as though going for brunch hours can some times result in an hour plus waitlist. We shared the Nutella crepes and ham and potato hash with Gruyère cheese - both were amazingggg, the crepes especially!!! Our food came out SO fast (TG as I was starving). Our waitress was attentive and punctual. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because I got a coffee after and ordered a cortado but was given a 12 oz cup of hot whole milk with one shot. I did ask for an off menu item, but they should just have said they don't know how to make it rather than serve an incorrect drink. They were kind and gave me a black coffee instead at my request, but sadly that was also very watery and underwhelming. Hopefully next time I will have a better coffee experience!
The food was prepared well and had great flavor. The portions were generous. The ham hash was amazing, and the French toast was good. I will definitely return.
Great place for brunch with good food at reasonable prices in an uncrowded, pleasant space with nice people taking care of you. Ever go to a place that's just so all-around nice that there's not much to say? SweetDiner is it.
After a brisk winter walk by the lake to watch the sunrise, we needed a place with hot coffee and good food. We found those and more. The service was attentive and personable including make smart recommendations and actually knowing the menu. I wish that more servers were like this wonderful lady who fully understood the menu in order to answer questions and ask good questions of us. The atmosphere is modern and still inviting, the good was presented well and, best of all, tasted great.
I came here with my friends for the first time while celebrating my friend's bachelorette party, and we were very impressed with their brunch. Since we visited on a weekend, we were extremely glad we made a reservation because the dining room was packed and parking in the area was difficult to find. That is really the only downside, but it seems to be an issue anywhere nearby. A friend and I went inside to let them know we were running a bit late due to parking, and they let us know they could not seat us until our full party of four had arrived, which was completely understandable. Luckily, the rest of our group walked in just a few minutes later. Once seated, we were immediately impressed by the dining room. The space is modern, bright, and very clean, with a beautiful aesthetic that makes it a great spot for brunch with friends. The menu is also large; there truly is something for everyone. They offer a wide variety of options, including multiple flavors of french toast, crepes, eggs benedict, skillet bowls, toasts, waffles, pancakes, and more. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. I had a hard time deciding between breakfast and lunch, and everyone in our group ended up ordering something different. I ultimately chose the Reuben sandwich ($14), and it did not disappoint. The sandwich was loaded with corned beef and had great flavor, and I chose breakfast potatoes as my side, which were crispy and well seasoned. I also tried the Mean Green juice ($7), and it was refreshing and a great complement to the meal. Everyone in our party gloated about how much they enjoyed the food, and we stayed full for much of the day. I would love to come back and try even more options, specifically he breakfast options. Overall, this was a fantastic brunch experience with great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and plenty of menu options. I would absolutely come back again and would recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends.
My my my my my. I'm just having a day full of amazing experiences! I walked in and was greeted instantly. Coming in from the cold this place definitely has an upscale vibe but cozy atmosphere. I sat at the bar where I was able to get a full view of the action behind the counter. Still active with employees I could tell that the vibe was friendly. I ordered the Chilaquiles with birria. I'm not going to lie the flavor slapped me in the face. Like it seriously packed some power in a good way. I scarfed as much food down but unfortunately I was stuffed so I had to take the rest to go. Definitely a spot worth trying.... I posted this before I left the table. Now I will say the food is still worth trying but my waiter who was tasked with cleaning up since they were closing in less than hour took out the trash, didn't wash his hands and came back to assist me... and when I asked he did admit he didn't wash his hands. So I think that is just the only negative aspect of my experience. Just remember you are dealing with people and food , and if he would've touched my food or passed me a to go box that would've been extremely unsanitary. Other than that the experience was nice.
Date of visit: October 26, 2025 Having been here a couple times before, I was looking forward to returning though was also a bit nervous about the potential wait time--this place can be an utter beast when it comes to a weekend morning! Thankfully 9 a.m. on a Sunday was not too bad and our friends were already in and seated when we arrived. The west side (to the right) of the restaurant is definitely the more relaxed side of the restaurant, even the pace and sense of urgency over here seemed to be less than the left side where we sat the last time. Service was okay, our waiter, Fabricio, seemed a bit more concerned with looking in the mirror and chatting with the other staff than us, but he was very friendly and accommodating when we had his attention. The food is still where SweetDiner shines; my pumpkin spice pancakes were delicious (I got them without the pumpkin seeds--no one needs that pressure in their life), and I definitely needed the coffee that morning! That day was trick-or-treat, so I thought the pumpkin was a nice nod to the day and the season overall.
I've been to SweetDiner a handful of times now and it never disappoints. Definitely one of my favorite breakfast spots in MKE. Although they have a large inviting dining area, they do fill up fast so wait times can get long...but I tend to go earlier to get seated right away. Some of my favorite dishes I've had are the chicken&waffles, Crème Brûlée Style french toast, and the egg plate. More recently tried the fiesta tacos with chorizo which were filling and had great flavor. I appreciate that all the ingredients taste fresh and the wait staff is often efficient, especially when busy. They also offer a wide variety of coffee/tea drinks, and alcohol/ cocktails fitting for any occasion. I would definitely recommend trying out SweetDiner if you're in the neighborhood or searching for a trendy brunch spot!
We were seated and greeted immediately by a friendly hostess. I ordered berries and an English muffin with vegan butter and a raspberry mimosa. My daughter turned 21 and they brought a chocolate/strawberry crepe with a candle to celebrate. Our server was NIKKI. Great server. She ordered avocado toast with eggs and a spicy Bloody Mary. My husband ordered a Wisconsin omelette and loved it. He ordered a Bloody Mary. My other daughter ordered eggs and potatoes. Those potatoes were PERFECT! They were perfect crispness. When I go again I'm getting a side of those potatoes. The bathroom was clean. The restaurant had a modern, fun atmosphere. We got parking right away out front too. We will be returning.

The coffee bar immediately greets you on the way in, and the rest of the restaurant practically made me feel underdressed. That being said, the environment definitely felt right for a Sunday brunch - and the food backed that up nicely. Coming from Texas, I grew up a ton on Southern food. Fried chicken and biscuits and gravy were staples back home, and I knew I had to try it when I came to SweetDiner. This dish was incredible - an amazingly savory gravy, fluffy biscuits, amazingly fried chicken, and eggs to round it out - just a whole plate of nothing but richness. I cut through that richness and fat with some fresh squeezed strawberry + orange juice - a timeless and well executed combo here. Overall, every dish looked media-worthy, and mine definitely hit all expectations and then some. Would happily come back again.
Very aesthetic and modern vibe with great music, scrumptious food, and friendly staff! We ordered two mimosas one regular and one Diner Mimosa which is their signature drink, Wisconsin Omelette, chicken & biscuits! Just wow! Fresh and fast service. Came here on a Saturday for brunch around 11:30am. We had a large party of 8 people so we couldn't put our name on the waitlist remotely through Yelp so the wait was around 30 minutes. The ambiance was beautiful inside, and the presentation of the food was nice. Food wise was just average in my opinion. I got the smoked salmon eggs benedict ($20), and it didn't stand out to me. Maybe it needed more salmon, or the English muffin maybe needed more butter? The egg was cooked nicely though. My bf got the ham plate, and he also thought it was just all right. read more

This is a must go to breakfast spot. I am from Houston, the foodie capital of the US. I am a foodie and have a food blog, @whatdocordered. I come here for business and this is likely the best breakfast spot restaurant I have ever been to. I sit at the bar and watch all this gorgeously prepared foo come from the kitchen and sit before me and everything is beautifully prepared. They PUMP out food while maintaining HIGH quality. I had to make contact with the guys in the kitchen with a thumbs up to let them know they were doing a stellar job. He gave me a thumbs up back. I very rarely eat bacon but this bacon is quality, thick and perfectly cooked with just the correct firmness. I had to order some. The service is excellent. My waitress Holly served me one day and when I showed up the next day she wasn't my server but yelled out 'Hey Kev, how are you doing?' As she scurried past. T The atmosphere is lively but not too loud. It very clean and has a modern decor. Overall, it is a wonderful pick me up for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Now, all this does come with a price. It may be the most expensive breakfast place I've visited in some time. But given the quality of the food, service cleanliness it is all worth it. read more

I finally got to try out Sweet Diner and I'm so happy I did! I understand why it's a busy brunch spot. The restaurant itself is modern and sleek, the menu has plenty of options, and the food is terrific. I went in on a Sunday with a large group of 10. They were definitely busy, but we didn't have to wait too long which was nice. Our server, Bailey, was awesome and handled our group like a pro. I wanted sweet AND salty, so thankfully my husband was in the mood to split a couple of entrees with me. We each started with coffee-a spiced latte with oat milk for me, and a cold brew for him. The latte is delicious. It's comforting and not overly sweet. We split a cup of soup - cream of chicken poblano. We both agreed the flavor was good and it was a decent portioned cup. There were quite a few things on the menu that stood out to me, but ultimately we split the cinnamon roll pancakes & chorizo tacos. The portions are huge! We had a few take home boxes. The food display is beautiful, making you want to dig in right away. The cinnamon roll pancakes have delicious sweet toppings that keep reeling you in. Pecans, cream cheese frosting, cinnamon sugar, oh my! You don't even really need syrup. The chorizo tacos come with four which is plenty. The toppings include cheese, pico, verde salsa, and crème fraiche. I'm not always thrilled about chorizo, but these were perfect. Not greasy and a great combination of flavor. Was craving brunch. Went to Sweet Diner.... around 11am on Sunday. Quoted a 45 minute wait for a counter or table. Took my number to send a text for seating. I didn't want to lose a parking spot. Would have explored the area outside in summer. So I just stared at tables opening up. Mine did.... about an hour later. The wait was worth it!!!! Our server was amazing. Time, excellent recommendations, honest. We had Creme Brule French Toast with Chicken add on... half size. I had the Cinnamon Roll French Toast, egg, and Chicken Sausage. Disclaimer: there is usually a wait and parking can be tricky, especially in holidays and weekends. The attention to detail at Sweet Diner is what makes it a favorite! From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere at Sweet Diner captivated us with its effortlessly cool vibe. The contemporary furniture and stylish decor create an ambiance that feels both modern and posh, setting the stage for an enjoyable meal. When it came to drinks, I was pleasantly surprised by the green juice. Its refreshing taste and invigorating blend of flavors made for a delightful beverage. On the other hand, the coffee, while decent, leaned towards a slightly bitter profile that didn't align with my personal preference. What an adorable place. I love the huge windows and exposed brick. We ate here early on a Saturday so we were able to get a table without a reservation and got to sit facing the window. Our server was kind and sweet. She grabbed us coffee and took our order. We both got benedicts but I got the classic and my brother got the chicken and biscuit benedict. Everything was delicious. The breakfast potatoes were everything I wanted, cripsy yet soft on the inside. Benny was classic and hit the spot -- I was so full. Totally enjoyed our experience at Sweet Diner! Came here for brunch with the gf Sunday around 11am. It was busy but we were seated right away no wait. Our server was very attentive and helpful even though he was running around. Kudos to him! We came here on a busy Sunday without a reservation. The host was very friendly, but she was quite cold with this weather. I hope she won't get sick or something. The wait time was about a half hour for 2 people, which was reasonable. The restaurant was very big and busy. We got seated by the wall. Our server was nice and attentive. The menu was online, and it was ready at the table. We both got regular hot coffee to start. Milk came without a request :) I got Berry Blast, and my partner got Ham Hash. I was so happy with my choice. The pancake was so yummy and sweet and had lots of berries. I haven't tried the Ham Hash, but it looked good. However, my partner said it had lots of ham than he was expecting. Well, I think it goes if you are a ham fan or not lol. Overall, our experience was great. This is a really cute brunch spot! We had a very large group and didn't have a reservation, so it was nice that they were willing to accommodate us - plenty of space for larger groups. I ordered the guiltless omelette, which was good but not absolutely amazing. It didn't have a lot of flavor to it, but I think it was made to be a healthy option. Went here for brunch and it was delicious! I had the Mediterranean Benedict which was incredibly filling and my friend got the chorizo bowl. Both were large portions. I do think the cocktails were a bit expensive (and only filled 3/4 of the way) which is why I'm giving this 4 stars. I definitely will come back though! It's been too long since my last review and happy to report finally on possibly my favorite brunch restaurant in Milwaukee and let alone the entire world. Easy quick sit down wait times, the atmosphere is clean and modern. Servers know what they are doing and care about getting food on the tables as quickly as possible! It's been always a pleasant experience with several servers I've had over the past several times I've been here (and yes I'm a repeat customer because the food is so great!). Finally the food is delicious beyond expectations. I can say I can eat their baked potatoes over and over again until I keel over. Coffee is slow superb! Don't change a thing Sweet Diner I love coming back over and over again. We love bringing our friends to your business and will continue to support it! read more

My mom and I had a wonderful breakfast here during our visit to Milwaukee. Our waitress was very nice and even answered a few questions I had about Milwaukee. Very kind! I had the Belgian waffle with berries. The waffle was light and fluffy, the berries fresh and delicious, and that berry syrup... Sooooooo good! Gosh, I just really love good waffles and this one is excellent! I also had breakfast potatoes and they were crispy and everything else that you would want from a breakfast potato. My mom got an omelette (the Wisconsin I believe) And she really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the atmosphere as well, open and bright. Maybe I have to move to Milwaukee now, so that I can eat here more often? Sounds delightful! (Plus, Milwaukee is super cool.) read more

We had a wonderful breakfast experience at Sweetdiner! Our server Aydee was absolutely fantastic--friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. I had the Beria omelette, and my wife had the BLT--both were made from scratch with top-quality ingredients and tasted incredible. You can tell everything here is homemade with care. The physical space and design is gorgeous...exposed brick walls, gleaming glass, and chandeliers. We were warmly welcomed and promptly seated for breakfast at 9 am on a Friday. Our server was kind, ready to answer our questions, and patient. We enjoyed cappuccinos, smoked salmon Benedict and the basic breakfast. Our food arrived quickly and was hot and delicious! There is usually quite a wait on weekends so send an early scout to put your name on the list as it can be up to an hour or more. Pancakes are 8" wide so one may be enough for light appetites, two more than enough for most. Chicken & biscuit eggs benedict was good although biscuits plus gravy plus fried chicken and runny eggs is too rich...there needs to be more contrast of ingredients with regards to texture and fattiness. The Monte Cristo was delicious! French toast made of brioche plus turkey, ham, Muenster cheese and jam were the perfect mix of sweet salty, buttery and lean. A bowl of chicken, black bean and tortilla soup was very flavorful. Great menu although a few more lower carb options would be nice. read more

As a die hard fan of brunch, I had to check out SweetDiner during my recent weekend trip to Milwaukee. The interior is so beautiful and perfect for a girls brunch. I got the smoked salmon Benedict and strawberry/orange juice and my boyfriend got the meat lover skillet. Absolutely delicious Benedict with the freshest salmon- will dock a point for the overly thicc English muffin. The skillet was hearty but got extremely salty as you made your way down. Overall food and service were great plus it's pretty affordable. read more

My friend & I had brunch on November 12th @ 11am. The only negative is the street parking & having to pay for parking for 2hrs. The decor is beautiful, staff is friendly & great selection on their menu items. We had their chicken & waffles, chicken & biscuits w/ scrambled eggs & mimosas which were all good. Waiter we had was prompt & friendly as well. They are little pricey but you pay for the location. I will recommend this place to try at least once. read more

I love love love Sweetdiner. It's my fave brunch place in Milwaukee. I was nervous when I walked in and saw the pompous minimalist gold, marble, grass wall decor (y'all know what I'm talking bout) but they turned out to be delicious. I love the chorizo hash skillet (FKA chilaquiles skillet), it's so good and flavorful and very good portion, I never finish it in one sitting. The cinnamon roll French toast (pictured) is so good. I also love the crème brûlée French toast. The coffee is also pretty good. They're menu is big so I'll probably never get to taste everything I wanna try. read more

Awesome brunch for my mom's birthday today! Sweet Diner has the cutest interior and such a big menu I was overwhelmed with options! The Mediterranean Benedict was calling my name! The hollandaise sauce was so good and super savory on top of spinach, tomatoes, olives and poached eggs! The only thing was the eggs weren't super runny. They were jammy and still pretty good but was looking for a runnier egg. Nonetheless, the breakfast potatoes stole the show! They were so crispy and seasoned perfectly! If you go, make sure to get there early to secure a table because they don't take reservations. For a place of this size and popularity, I feel like being able to reserve a table would really help the organization. Gotta try out the drink menu next time because they looked so cute! Had some French Toast and Waffles to take home. Still tasted great reheated! French toast was delicious without syrup but the waffle definitely needed some. read more

Best place to park when dining at Sweet Diner for breakfast?
The parking is hectic since it's downtown but I was able to park around the corner of the restaurant & paid the full meter to give myself the max time. Make sure to have change w/ you to pay the meter because the card machine may not be available
