Come on down to Belmont Shore (2nd Street) and get your Poke Bowl On. Tuna, salmon, shrimp or veggies, your hunger and taste senses will surely be addressed. Plenty of good food choices await. Burritos, grains and greens. Oh, they've got plant-based options too. I left out the chicken. My favorite chicken based bowl is the Cilantro Chopped Chicken Salad which comes with grilled chicken, cilantro lime jalapeno vinaigrette, chopped kale, napa cabbage, red onions, cucumbers, carrots, cilantro, crunchy vermicelli noodles, and sesame seeds. The place is clean and relaxed. The service is friendly and excellent. Eat in or order to go. Best to find parking on the side streets or behind the storefronts. Better yet, walk a few blocks from the beach.

I got a build your own bowl with salmon! Overall, the quality was good & I'd order it again. The yuzu sauce was so tasty!

First timer at Sweetfin! Big fan of their other sister restaurants so thought I'd give this a try. For starters I would say their menu and selections are unlike any other poke spots. It is confusing at first but the pre-selected selections seem to be the way to go. We got the yuzu salmon and standard tuna bowls. For base we tried both the bamboo rice and black rice. I would definitely recommend the bamboo rice as the black rice had a weird dry texture. One thing I like about this place is that you can add shashito peppers! That was a nice kick I've never tried before. Fish quality is great and flavors were definitely top notch. Overall I would say Sweetfin is certainly different but not ideal for a typical poke fix. The high pricing and smaller portion sizing are also not ideal. Still--for more flavorful and specially curated bowls I would recommend!

My first time ever trying Sweetfin! So excited they opened a location in Belmont Shore! I love that their entire menu is gluten free! Please don't sleep on the taro chips, they're amazing! The taro chips have wasabi furikake seasoning, try it with your poke, it's delicious! If you get overwhelmed with all the different toppings, you can order one of their signature bowls to make it easier! Parking: they have a shared parking lot if you can't find street parking Patio: they have a shared patio if you want to sit down and enjoy your meal! What I ate: got a large poke bowl with salmon and albacore tuna and the forbidden rice! They have have plenty of different toppings to choose from which I love!

Food: I got the build-your-own bowl with salmon and seared ahi with a variety of vegetables. I like that this spot has a much larger variety of vegetables than your typical poke spot. However, the Chinese broccoli was SO BITTER that it took away from the experience. My BF actually stopped eating the bowl bc of the bitterness. Price is on par for poke nowadays - a large is about $16, the small looked like the size of a side dish so I didn't bother. Ambiance: This is a quick service location with no seating, so great if you're a Belmont Shore local, but tough for others since street parking can be limited. I could see getting a bowl and bringing it to the beach during the summer. Service: Quick and no frills. You can get $5 off your first order if you sign up for their rewards program but you have to link your credit card.

DISAPPOINTMENT Found this place through Yelp and made the drive out. Came in on a Wednesday at around 4pm. Walked in and noticed the place looked like it was about to close but had a few more hours of operation. It was dark, someone was mopping, it was empty and most of the proteins in the tins were gone. Decided to take a chance anyways. How I wished I had saved my money. The screens were not working and it was my first time here so I didn't know how this specific business was selling their bowls. I asked the employees. Too bad the music was on blast and I could not here anything! I kept having to have him repeat what he was saying but he didn't speak up. As the employee starts making my bowl, I ask for spicy mayo. The bottle was empty. He squeezed what was left in the bottle and told me there was no more. Barely a teaspoon. I asked if there wasn't anymore in the back of house? He just looked at me like that was it and continued asking if that was okay. I figured there was no more. Turns out there was, he just apparently didn't wanna go get it because eventually the manager or who ever that was ended up giving me a side of the spicy mayo. Eventually they turned off the music so we could hear. Please note that the speaker is directly above the customer at the first station. For the price point I recognize that all the ingredients might be unique but it didn't make it good. I guess that's their selling point but for the love of god just have regular rice. I got the black rice. Hard dry little grains, my date got the bamboo rice. Both dry and hard grains. I also noticed that the crispy toppings such as the crispy onions and garlic appeared to be made in house? Perhaps? But they were stale and hard to chew. Coupled with the rice it was not a good texture. Now for the protein, I got salmon and shrimp. The shrimp was actually pretty good, but the salmon was barely room temperature and way too fatty or something. Just slime. At this point I don't know if it was imitation salmon. Unlike most places, you can only get six toppings before your capped. Me and my date kept tasting wasabi in our bowls, we didn't order wasabi. Don't know if that's standard but we were not fans. The packaging was cute. But there wasn't anywhere to eat besides their "patio" which was honestly just two tables set outside on the sidewalk. They were sticky and unfortunately water had settled along the curb becoming stagnant. We had to swat away the occasional fly. We picked at the protein and threw away the rest. In all, I didn't see the point in going back and getting my money since I had ate most of the protein. Lesson learned and what I took away from this is that I will not be back.

Welcome to Long Beach, Sweetfin! I'm aware of this brand but never had a chance to try their other locations prior. This review is based off of their opening day so things may have changed, perhaps gotten better since. They offer 2 sizes on their bowls and you pick a base whether rice, kale salad, or noodle. My yuzu salmon was good but I didn't enjoy my miso eggplant bowl as much. I couldn't really taste a miso flavor on the eggplant. I guess I was expecting the eggplant pieces to be larger but they were small pieces that you could hardly tell what they were. There appeared to be more mushrooms than eggplant. Tofu was included in the bowl. My gripe is that for a vertically challenged adult, I had trouble communicating with staff on other side of the glass. It's way too high, taller than myself, and with the music being so loud, I couldn't even hear them. I was only there on opening day so I'm not sure if the music is always playing at that level. This is a small space so there isn't any seating inside.

Save your money & go to Poke Pola instead. Price - The large bowl will cost you $16 for the choice of up to 2 protein and appears to be the size of a small bowl at their neighboring competition. Sweet Fin's method for portioning your protein is done by scale. After they added the sauce and toppings in the mixing bowl they add the contents on top of the base. For me, rice and the kelp noodles. Unfortunately when placing my fish on top my base, there were still a few pieces of fish left in the mixing bowl that were headed for the trash. This would go left unnoticed and unbothered should they not weigh the fish right in front of me. The staff are still getting used to the operation which is understandable. But $16 for a bowl is just absurd when you finally sit down to eat it. Flavor - The closest choice of white rice is along the lines of a short grained white rice with bamboo. It wasn't great. I would prefer a boring traditional white rice. I enjoyed the Yuzu flavor marinade. But it just wasn't enough. Experience - It was a bit hard to hear the employees over the glass window. The menu is far and high which was hard to read. These are just my observations. The staff were nice and these things are out of their control. No hard feelings but I won't be coming back.

    Amazing yum yummy.

The staff is very helpful and inviting and the establishment is very clean. Let's talk about the food. I've been there twice in a week, no lie. I build my own bowl to whatever my tastebuds want. The sriracha ponzu is awesome! The garlic sauce is awesome. The veggies are awesome. The different types of rices are awesome and the kale slaw is- you got it awesome! I love that I finally have a fast food type of healthy eating on 2nd street. I can't wait to go back. Forbidden rice or bamboo rice the next time??

I had the BEST experience at the new Sweetfin in Long Beach! I was having trouble ordering online so I popped by the store and as it turns out, I was two days early for their grand opening which is today, Friday September 15. The manager Josh was doing paperwork by the door and his staff was there, and everyone was super friendly and welcoming and when I said "I'm going to be out of town for your grand opening", they offered to make me a sample poke bowl! I was delighted and it was DELICIOUS! So happy to see a locally owned business joining our community and can't wait to go back and try the entire menu! Welcome, Sweetfin!

I wish I looked at more reviews before coming here. Feel bad for leaving 1 star but this place is not like a regular poke spot. Small shop towards the end of belmont. They have the menu on the TVs but 2 of the tvs weren't on. The music was super loud that the entire time, I could not hear the guy helping us with our order. He told us a large bowl would get us 4 proteins. I have no idea if he meant 4oz or 4 different kinds of protein. I only chose 2 and again I wanted to ask but was getting annoyed with the loud music and they didn't talk any louder after I repeatedly told them I can't hear them. The sauces and sides are whatever. And towards the end they do not have regular rice. I ate only half my bowl but could not even try to finish it the fish didn't taste that fresh and I wasn't a fan of the weird bamboo rice they had. On yelp claims to have a outdoor kinda seating. It was two tiny tables on the side. Pricy $15 "large" poke bowl.

However when it got to my toppings, he gave very little. But I was satisfied with the amount of protein he gave, because some places can be very stingy about how much they give you. I like how they have a set plate such as the Hawaiian bbq chicken and salmon bowl. They also have premade proteins such as the sweet glazed salmon or the tuna luau. They have a variety of choices. The ambiance of this location is nice. There are lots of tables and seats for you to sit and enjoy your meal. My husband and I got ours to go. When we got home, there was too much base for me. I asked for lite rice and my bowl was full of rice. And as mentioned, not enough toppings to my liking. But overall, a good poke place. Definitely a place to check out if you want a variety of selections when customizing your poke.

The fish was fresh, flavorful, well-portioned, and the overall bowl was great. Portions are solid and prices seem fair to me for the quality and location. My one gripe, and the reason this isn't a full five star review, is the menu clarity around the crab meat. It's a bit misleading. It looks like crab is included with the small bowl but it actually counts as one of the three proteins for the medium bowl.
