Wow, Sweetgreen quality has taken a cliff dive. Used to love their salads & bowls, but my most recent online pickup order was terrible. The bowl was half full (including the dressing containers), egg & avocado weren't chopped up, it was missing half the ingredients, and the sweet potato was RAW. I'm not a salad person or even that fanatic about salads. I like them and will have them occasionally, all the while knowing in the back of my head I should be eating more. I do like there's a new spot in the area where I can get a salad to go. Seating is limited. Unless you aren't in a time crunch, I'd say kick back and enjoy your salad here. Take it to go and sit by the riverwalk (assuming weather is enjoyable, of course). During the handful of times I've been here, I haven't found the wait to be too terrible. But this is because I tend to do a late lunch (past 1 pm) and miss the River North lunch bunch/workout-goers. I also like that they're open later for those of us who sometimes work past 5. I normally go with the Guacamole Greens bowl from the menu but skip the vinaigrette. I also tried one of the fall options - Brussels sprouts and chicken minus the dressing. I'm not a salad dressing person either. You do have the option of creating your own salad if the menu doesn't work for you. I'd skip the hard boiled egg as a side/topping, unless you need it. It's an extra $1.25 in addition to salad prices ranging from $9-$12. It's a cashless system here. Use a card or the sweetgreen app. You can order online for pickup, which I have yet to try. read more

Sweetgreen, please come to my city! You are amazing, refreshing, delicious, and unique! The rotating seasonal menu offers a wide variety of warm and cold vegan, vegetarian, and meat salads with savory, house made dressings and a slice of bread. Whether dining in or ordering to go, the portions are very large and filling. My favorites include the Spicy Sabzi topped with spicy quinoa, broccoli, bean sprouts, carrots, beets, sesame tofu, and a handful of other delish things, and the Shroomami mixed with wild rice, sesame tofu, beets, bean sprouts, and sunflower seeds. They also have a build your own option and seemed happy to make substitutions. These folks know how to hustle, and while the line can reach the door, you're taken care of quickly. Delicious! The salads are pricey but that's the price you pay for locally grown food. The line was long but moved quickly and the staff was very helpful and friendly! I ordered the Hummus Tahini salad with medium dressing that it came with on the menu (light, medium, heavy). Great salad, spicy dressing! The falafel is filling and delicious. I also ordered the Cucumber Ginger Lime Fresca which was good as well. It has 12g of sugar and I assume that's from the limes and cucumbers. Highly recommend! Ingredients taste wonderfully fresh and come together to create an assortment of flavors (Mexican, Thai, Greek/Mediterranean...). I doctored up my salad, inspired by the "Guacamole Greens" menu item. Ordered the cucumber tahini dressing and am now sitting here wondering how to recreate this deliciousness. Staff was friendly, helpful, and patient. read more

This is a great lunch spot! I opted for the Harvest Bowl. I loved the sweet potatoes and apples and the chicken was super tasty. The goat cheese was awesome but I would have liked the cheese "crumbled" into the salad instead of the large ball that they scooped into it. Husband had the OMG Omega and loved the steelhead trout. The place is small so seating can be scarce during the lunch rush and it is a bit noisy but staff is great and the food is even better. We'll definitely be back! read more

I wish there was a Sweetgreen in my city. They have the FRESHEST vegetables. Very tasty ingredients and recipes. Casually sitting. Very casual. They have like these bleacher style seating so you can climb and have a seat and eat your salad in your lap if you like. Or you can sit at a table. There is also an option to place an app order and your salad will be ready. I love the summer salad Peach+ Burrata. And the salads are huge. Tasty, fresh salad! I was in the mood for something light and healthy, and Sweetgreen was right around the corner from my hotel. I got the caesar kale salad. it was exactly as expected - the perfect amount of dressing (although you can ask for light, medium, or heavy. Things to note- small location and you will probably have to wait in line, but it moves quickly. No cash accepted. Not a lot of seating but there are several plug-ins to charge your phone so bonus points for that! One recommendation for improvement - add the options for those wanting to create their own in the menu or on a sign. It really wasn't listed anywhere which is why I went with one of the House favorites. With all that said, I highly recommend it. I was so disappointed with sweetgreen today and this is the second time they jacked me. I placed my order and was given the choice of being ready at 4pm so I always get extra chicken and it's a little more pricey but get double chicken and extra veggies. I order extra items but was still supposed to be ready. Running late got there at 4:15pm walk in looking thru the orders already out and didn't see my name so I asked about it and the girl looked at glass where they had taped a gang of orders that had not been prepared it would have been easier to order right then and there but they had my money. I stood there for about 10 minutes and you know how hectic parking is on Randolph. I was checking the app to see when finished would pop up and what they did was sit he damn bag in delivery had not closed it out in the system an this was at 4:52pm this was all kinds of messed up and sad I didn't there until my salads were ready at 4:52pm. I had no idea what to expect. I was looking for something vegan for dinner after going to a concert at The Chicago Theater. I was blown away by how delicious my meal was! I did the customized bowl with the spicy cashew dressing. It was so delicious that I jotted down exactly what I had so I could hopefully make it at home and definitely get it next time I'm in the area. Always seen these in SF but finally got to try it here in Chicago! The amount they give you is enormous! I got the build your own which comes with 4 toppings as well as a dressing. Adding chicken, cheese, avocado, shrimp, or egg was an additional $2-4 which I think was a little pricey. Even though I was pleasantly full by the end of it, I think it was way too overpriced for a salad. Mine came out to $13 because I added chicken and feta. Great for a quick and healthy bite, and the app makes it even easier. I usually do pick up, because there's limited seating in the store. This location (on State Street in River North) typically has really fresh ingredients and great customer service. There were a few times when they messed up my order, but they were quick to respond and remedy the situation. I am OBSESSED with sweetgreen! I have traveled down to Chicago from the suburbs just to grab a meal here a couple of times, and I've never left disappointed. The salad options are so yummy, unique, and filling. I love the buffalo chicken bowl and the warm curry chickpea bowl! Stopped by again for lunch and got the curry bowl, which I am in love with. It came with a generous portion of kale, chickpeas, quinoa, and chicken, and I was absolutely stuffed by the end of it. After having tried a couple of the sauces (the cilantro lime, ginger miso, and the sweetgreen hot sauce), I have to say that it's definitely the dressings/sauces that make this place better than the rest.
