I'm not a huge salad fan, but Sweetgreen manages to make salads palatable to even salad haters like me. One of my favorite things about Sweetgreen is that their ingredients are always fresh and in season. Every veggie looks like it was chopped just for your salad. My favorite thing to get is the Shroomami bowl. I prefer it to a straight salad because the mushrooms, tofu, and quinoa in it are warm, but it still has all the healthy elements of a salad like kale. The only downside to this location is that it is PACKED during the lunch hour. I highly recommend ordering ahead if you're going at noon (use the Sweetgreen app) or going before 11:45 am or after 1:30 pm. read more

A solid place to grab a fresh salad with an added protein. The food was very good, the service was quick and each experience there the food is consistent. The only reason they lost a star is that the location that I went to did not have spinach and thus I had to replace it with a type of lettuce.... Some of he best salads and bowls I have ever had. They put a ton of thought into all of their dishes and have local sustainable fresh ingredients. It is a bit pricey but that is because you are paying for the quality. It is extremely busy during weekday lunch hours in the loop. I pre-order using their app and never have had any issues. Mediocre and overpriced salads. Just got an avocado chicken salad for dinner. The incredients did not appear fresh - overripe tomatoes, brownish avocado, dry spotty lettuce. Super delicious and fresh spot with tons of options, whether you are plant-based, or not. We ate here before attending a musical downtown and I was super thankful to have something healthy and nutritious before the show. I would definitely recommend eating here. The shroomami bowl is the most disgusting thing ever. Don't get it. I was starving when I ordered it so anything should taste good at that point. The beets were rock hard and so stale I couldn't get a fork through them, the tofu was undercooked, the bowl was 99% kale, and the dressing was very very salty and SO oily. I don't know who thought this was a good salad idea! I also ordered a fish taco salad bowl another time and the portion was 1/3 what is used to be. So the back to back disappointing orders has left me with a bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended. So disappointed in the drop in quality of food and portions! read more

I usually love sweetgreen, but staff is very inconsistent with how they make salads. Some days you'll get very generous portions and a well mixed salad. Other days you get 3 morsels of chicken and handful of kale. Today was especially disgusting as my server dropped the tongs on the floor, picked them up, and mixed my salad. She didn't even mix it well and I ended up with a hunk of dressing right in the center. Yuck. I would have asked her to make me a new one, but I had already waited 20 minutes. Today I waited almost 30 minutes in line to get a salad at lunch. They really need to work on the process flow here and the staff could use a little kick in the rear and move things along a little bit faster. Half of them seem to not know the ingredients in the salads and were looking at lists so it seems like it's a training issue. People clearly love this place, as the line was out the door. Sweetgreen is my go-to for lunch in the loop! Every salad and bowl I have tried has been delicious. My favorite year-round is the Hummus Tahina, and favorite seasonals are the Elotes and the Roasted Pepper + Feta. Yes, most of the bowls and salads cost over $10, but they source their ingredients from local farmers (they even write the local farms on the wall!) and make everything from scratch. The food always tastes fresh and is always filling. I like to order in-store so the salad is mixed (they don't mix it for mobile orders). The service is super fast and the staff has always been friendly. They also have an app you can download and earn rewards and free credits. Highly recommended! There are quite a few healthy salad place with similar concept popping up in the loop, I like Sweetgreen the best amongst them all. I think the sauce plays a big factor, as all the ingredients would taste very similar no matter which joint you went to since they are pretty much raw and unprocessed veggies. The sauce here is very good. The proteins are good too, loved both the chicken and the tofu. The portion is good too, normally I get hungry in the afternoon after eating salad, but Sweetgreen seems to have just the right portion. read more

This is one of my absolute favorite places for a quick meal. I have visited all locations in Chicago as well as in DC, and the food and service is very consistent! The menu options are all delectable, but you can also customize anything and everything. Not to mention, the staff at Fulton Market is top knotch. I had the create your own salad, which did not disappoint! I had everything you could think of added to it and to top it off their jalapeño lime cilantro dressing ( a must try!). Sweetgreen is a great healthy lunch option! Salads and bowls are completely customizable - think chipotle style - and the ingredients are fresh, locally sourced, and very tasty. The lines are typically long around lunch time, but they move fast, so don't be discouraged. Tried sweetgreen for the first time last week and we really enjoyed it. We ordered the Red Thai and the Spicy Sbazi and both were DELICIOUS and filling. We'd heard the servings were larger and they were, but it was just the right amount for a late lunch for me. The prices are what I'd expect at a place like this and for the location- our salads were $9-13, and drinks were $2.50. For the amount of food you get and the quality, I'd say it's a good deal. Next time I won't get a drink, because I'm not the biggest fan of the teas and the lemon drink kind of tasted like watered down lemonade. read more

Really enjoyed my bowl at sweetgreen this week. Had a mixed greens base and then added all kinds of veggies like red onions, cherry tomatoes, creamy garbanzo beans, spicy broccoli, avocado and tofu. I'm pretty picky when it comes to salad, but sweetgreen hits the spot with it comes salad or warm bowls! I was so impressed, and immediately sad that there isn't one located closer to me. Service was good, the menu is simple, and they have healthy options for beverages. I went with the Guacamole Greens salad and Lemonade Fresca. I was glad the line was long, because it was difficult to choose one thing from the menu. It all sounded delicious. Definitely worth a try if you're near one. NUT ALLERGIES? BEWARE! This used to be my favorite spot to grab a quick and healthy lunch... until today. While enjoying a salad I bit down into something that was a texture far different than anything else in my bowl. I immediately recognized the substance as a nut and spit it out. Now, I have a severe nut allergy when ingested and usually require an immediate hospital visit. Unfortunately, for myself and many others with severe allergies, especially to nuts, anaphylactic shock can certainly occur. The best fast-casual meal that I had while visiting Chicago! I had the vegan "Shroomami" bowl and was able to substitute chickpeas for the rice. The bowl was very fresh and flavorful. My husband had the Curry Cauliflower bowl and got tofu instead of chicken. His food was delicious, too. I highly recommend for a quick healthy meal and they have plenty of Vegan options. If you order and pay online, then you can pick up your food from a shelf without waiting at all. I recommend this for lunch because this location gets very busy. I'm addicted, I admit it. I tried not to be, but everything is so fresh and tasty, I just keep going back. While you will pay about $12, the portions are actually quite large. I have never had any problems with the on-line ordering app, as other people have complained about. I order in the morning, and its ready to go, when I get there. Definitely try to avoid just showing up in the lunch rush, the line snakes throughout the place. I'm a big fan of the lentil/avocado salad, and hummus/falafel salad. Totally worth a visit! read more
