I found little grey balls on the underside of my spinach leaf that look like stink bug eggs. A sign the greens might not have been washed or inspected thoroughly enough before packaging. In nature, it's normal for stink bugs to lay eggs on plant leaves like this, but for food, you'd want to remove the affected leaves and rinse everything well. read more

I had a really disappointing experience at Sweetgreen. We waited about 30 minutes for our order, which already felt excessive given how simple the menu is. When our food was finally called, we were told the order was incomplete because they had run out of sweet potatoes--something that is supposed to come with the meal. What made this worse was the explanation. Instead of taking responsibility for running out of an ingredient, staff claimed that we "didn't explain what we wanted," which doesn't make sense since the item is part of the standard dish. It came across as an excuse rather than an honest explanation. If you're running low on ingredients, that should be communicated upfront before customers order--not after they've already waited half an hour. This felt more like a rush to close than actual customer service. Between the long wait, missing food, and lack of accountability, this was a frustrating experience. I've heard great things about Sweetgreen and figured I'd stop in and give it a shot. This one is in a newly constructed office complex with a large parking garage. I wasn't sure if anyone could park in the garage or if you had to work in the complex. Fortunately, there was parking directly outside the restaurant. It's a decent sized place but the one thing that hit me as soon as I walked in was the extremely loud music. I ordered mine on the website and it was ready just as promised. The order didn't have bread so I had to YELL to the woman behind the counter to ask for bread. She nicely gave me a piece. The salad was good. I wish there were more options but this place doesn't really differ from other salad places. Fresh ingredients. Not a huge portion and about $14-15 when you're done. I would come back here again but I'd go to any of the salad places in Morristown. read more

Plates don't have salad greens, salads don't have grains, bowls can have either, and they all cost at least $15. Order off the menu or make up your own combo, there are a ton of options for proteins, pickled and fresh vegetables, cheese and crunchy stuff on top too. I tried the guacamole greens salad, chicken greens and half an avocado on top, delicious spicy cilantro dressing too. Unfortunately they were all out of focaccia so I got a (stale) piece of bread instead. Delicious light dinner, I guess the price is about the going rate these days, felt a little high though. They don't ask you if you're doing takeout or staying in, it's all the same, the food goes in a cardboard bowl and they hurry to put a cardboard lid on it. Plastic forks too. So the dine in experience is a little bit like being in a remote airport terminal with a super high ceiling. Doesn't encourage lingering obviously. Great choice to dine outside in nice weather, they have lots of tables and umbrellas out front. Vegetarian rating is five stars, pretty much get what you want, also they have vegan protein options, mainly tofu. read more

I really want to like this place...but they keep messing up. Last time my husband got a bowl with the wild rice and it was hard. This time he got white rice and it was hard again. Both times we went it was in the evening...I don't know if we are getting the end of day rice or something. It's a shame when the food here is pretty costly. I got also got a rice bowl and my wild rice was surprisingly fine, but they got the ingredients wrong. I still liked it, but would have preferred the cucumbers instead of the apples like it said. I ordered delivery through DoorDash for lunch today and I ordered the buffalo chicken salad with a few modifications. I will say that when ordering a modified meal through a third-party site you don't always have the highest hopes but, sweetgreen delivered on a wonderful salad. Almost every single modification was met, except I requested extra pickled red onions, and there didn't seem to be more than normal, which is slightly disappointing as you pay extra for that modification. Had a horrible experience, picked up a few bowls and fries for the office and many things were missing. To start i went to pick up at the time it said it would be ready by and had to wait, which is fine, IF everything was right with the order. But it wasn't. Women working told me they were cooking up a fresh batch of fries in the back and that was what was holding up the order. Finally got order and brought it was to the office. The bowls were missing dressing(s) and some toppings were missing as well. The fries that are about 5 dollars legit had only 5 fries in the container! And they were COLD!! The Morristown location is consistently bad and I won't be returning. I LOVE SG in the city, especially as a gluten free person. I was so excited finding out about the Morristown location and drove out of my way to go there multiple times hoping the food would improve after my first visit. My options are limited as a GF person and I love SG so i was holding out hope for this location. But it seems like it's the same issues mentioned in most of the reviews online, so doesn't seem anything is being addressed or improved. The rice is always either overcooked or not cooked at all, i'm not sure which but it is always hard as a rock every time i've gotten it, to the point of it being hard to even chew. I decided to give it one last chance & this was the final straw for me. I asked for no almonds, got almonds. I asked for three dressings, I got one. I asked for bread (for my dog), and got none. And the rice was rock hard as per usual. I'd understand mistakes happening if it were busy night time, but gone mostly at lunch time and the whole place is dead. Way too expensive for absolutely no quality. I don't ever write reviews, but i hope other people see this and save their time & money. If you're in the city, i'd recommend SG locations there, I've been to a bunch of different locations & have never had any issues. read more

Not good - skimpy protein bowls, they were out of 2 or 3 items at dinner time on a Wednesday night and only 2 other people sitting in the place. I kept waiting to see them cut up a nice piece of blackened chicken (all I could taste was curry - Yuk) and place it on top of what looked like slop not realizing the chicken was already on the plate. Bad sign when everything looks gray and you can't tell chicken from brussel sprouts. Pleasant server & very clean gets it the second star for the rating. People writing good reviews must be high, maybe that's the secret. Find a Chopt or Chipotle if you really want a salad. Never going back. I have been loyal to Sweetgreen in other cities so I was excited when the Morristown store opened up however this was easily the worst Sweetgreen salad I've ever had and I won't be back. I did a mobil order so was hoping to just hop out and pick it up but the security guard made me park in the parking lot and then the salad was just awful! The Romain lettuce was brown and the "steak" was some tiny dried up edges of overcooked something - maybe it was steak yesterday but not today. An awful experience all around - I'm so disappointed! I have ordered pickup from here a handful of times. I love salad bowl places and have been to Sweetgreen before in NYC. I was excited to have a place open near by. It doesn't help that Paris Baguette is next door LOL (actually it helps a lot if you know what I mean...). The score is only for the ingredients. Let me first address the good stuff. The service is quick and fast and the employees are amazing! Every time I have ordered pickup, my order was always ready within 10-15 min. Inside, there is plenty of seating and all of the times I did pickup there was only a few people inside seating. For parking, I do not know where you would park. I just park somewhere else in downtown Morristown and walk on over. I've tried the shroomami bowl, caramelized garlic steak bowl, and the fish taco bowl. Although their bowls and salads are good, there were a few ingredients that turned me off. The kale and spring mix (didn't feel like it was fresh/washed thoroughly), herbed quinoa (clumpy), wild rice (over cooked), and sweet potatoes (mushy). The portions are on the smallish side for the price especially the salmon in the fish taco bowl. Overall, I recommend giving this place a try. I think there are some growing pains since this place is relatively new in the area. I think it's also hard because there are other places nearby to compare to: Just Salad, Salad House, Hummus Republic, Chopt, etc. read more
