I feel like I never really boarded the Asian dessert love train. There's a long-standing relationship between sweets and Asian palates because I've seen classic Japanese movies from over seventy years ago that featured some throwaway scene where the characters get excited over the sight of a strawberry shortcake. I saw the same facial expressions when I noticed Asian youths perusing the dessert menu here. My visit was not premeditated. I just happened to be at the Fed Ex store and saw this shop out of the corner of my eye. Maybe the real long-standing relationship is between me and calories because everything on that menu looked good to me. The adventurer in me drew me to the $6.50 trio of Durian Mochi which had the unmistakable smell of the original fruit. Luckily it had actual durian inside its soft dough as well with a coating of coconut. I also needed to try the $7.50 pair of Mango Pancakes that reflected the soufflé style favored by Asian tastes. The rich mango interior was covered by a pillow of soft meringue, and the result was an indulgent treat (photo). I have since noticed that other locations have popped up in the Bay Area with the same glazed looks of delight from prospective customers, so I'll need to be mindful when I consider my next bite of Asian treats. Came with a friend on a Friday night. It was pretty crowded but we were able to get a table quickly. They give you a tablet that has a very extensive menu, so much so that after I scrolled to the very last page, I didn't even remember what was on the first couple of pages. Good thing my friend had been here before and ordered for us! We got the sweet soup with sesame rice balls and the mango sago. The sesame rice balls (aka tong yuan) came out really hot so maybe wait a little bit before digging in. The sesame inside had a good flavor and consistancy, so that even though the outer mochi-like portion didn't have much taste, it gave a nice backdrop for the sesame to shine. There's something really comforting about tong yuan to me, because it reminds me so much of my childhood. I really enjoyed it because of that, but it was more comforting than amazing, if you know what I mean. The mango sago was a little too sweet for me but tasted very mango-y. I enjoyed the large chunks of real mango though. This place really prioritizes covid protocols, with initial temperature checks, hand sanitizer, and disinfecting tables between customers. And the service is great -- they came to refill our tea (really good oolong, by the way!) multiple times throughout. Parking is readily available in the lot outside. My favorite type of dessert is asian dessert and SweetHoney is definitely one of my go to choices. I love how seriously they take the pandemic, they have the entranced roped off and only let you in if you pass the temperature screening + sanitize your hands. They give you iPads as menus, I think this is super cool because it shows that their menu is always changing! I always get the vanilla snow w/ mango + black sticky rice. It's soo good. The vanilla snow is not too sweet and it's the perfect base for the rice and mango. The rice is cooked perfectly and the mango is always sweet and soft! The Sweet Honey Dessert closed down in my town, so I was happy to eat at this location! Once seated, you are given complimentary oolong tea and the menu- which is completely on tablets! There are about 11 pages to flip through- so many choices to choose from. Different themes for each page too! I ordered the Purple Lover Cheesecake- the texture was soft and the flavor was light enough. One of my friends ordered the takoyaki which was a good savory balance to all these sweets. Best place to get HK dessert. Growing up around a huge Chinese community (I am not Chinese) I have always been exposed to traditional desserts and food. Yet, it really hard finding a place where I can get authentic tang yuan, I usually go to 99 ranch and get a frozen pack. But when I tell you there tang yuan is fresh, soft, chewy, and perfectly sweet it truly brings back childhood memories. Me and my partner will be coming here once a week!! Service was good as well! The fish balls was was full of flavor and a good spiciness to it. Takoyaki balls was yummy as well, burst of flavors when you bite into it. Though I do think they can have better presentations with the plates and the bowls. They should have actual bowls and plates, not plastic ones. We were sitting in there for about 30 minutes (still waiting for a few additional things) and we were approached by an employee to ask us to leave because "people were waiting to be seated" when there were people who were there way before us with empty tables, no food, etc. there were a couple people waiting for to go orders, but no one sat in our seats. I used to come here a lot before the pandemic and before they opened up a branch in Millbrae. Today was the first time I had been back in probably a couple years or so. I placed my order on their website and went to go pick it up. There are special menu items from Sweethoney that are available at the Colma location that aren't available at the Millbrae one, particularly the purple lover's series. I made the trip over here just to try the purple lover's cheesecake (purple yam). Picking it up was a seamless process. The cheesecake looked very pretty, but unfortunately the taste fell short for me. I expected a dense flavor of the tang from the cheese and purple yam but both flavors were so light. Also, the texture of it was more like a sponge cake rather than a cheesecake. This item didn't live up to the hype for me, but I love their other menu items and I have a lot of fun memories dining here! read more

I usually come here with my daughter but I went on a Saturday night by myself and usually I don't have any issues but that night I ordered my food waiting to be served and yes I did follow the waitlist and I understand that you have to go by the order in which a customer sits down first but mind you I'm only one person really to order and this young girl she looked new just ignore me and I took my order hella late. All the other customers that was there before me still needed time and I kindly called her over and she just stared at me and when she finally comes she doesn't even apologize for me waiting to long. Review for their specialty drinks Thought I'd try something new while we were in the City. Supposedly they are well known as one of the finest chains offering fresh, authentic Hong Kong desserts. The Strawberry/blueberry was okay but didn't care too much for the cream part. He had to finish it before we left, otherwise, it would get messy in the car. COVID-19: They have a table set up that prevents customers from entering the store so place your order by the door. Someone will attend to you shortly if no one is right there immediately to take your order. They closed late (11:00p) and we got there at 8:30p. The staff was friendly and helpful, very nice kids. They were busy inside fulfilling online orders but they were able to get our drinks to us fairly quickly. I think I'll try their snacks next time... I may not be familiar with the specialty fruit drinks, grass jellies, sagos, rice balls, and the soufflé pancakes but I know chicken wings, butterfly shrimp, Gyoza, curly fries and shumai when I see one. Currently, they have cases and cases of mango they are trying to sell for cheap. I was told that they overbought. We purchased a case for $11.95. I love mangos! The size of the drinks are really small. I got the cantaloupe ice and it basically tastes like water with a hint of cantaloupe. Also there was a huge chunk of melon in my drink which took up a quarter of my drink, I'm not sure if it was intentional but it served no purpose. Would not recommend this place.
