We stopped here for lunch to get off the highway on our drive to Kentucky. The sandwiches were all excellent. My husband especially liked the Italian Grilled Cheese, my son had a delicious meatball sandwich and the BLT came with loads of good bacon according to my daughter. I enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich. The owner was super friendly and took the time to talk to us and give us a little history of the building and some insight into the area. Prices are very reasonable and parking is easy, you just have to walk a quick block or two. It's only a half a mile off the interstate, easy to get on and off. Great experience! read more

We stopped here on a long road trip with our son and daughter. The menu is simple, casual food. The prices are on point for the location and style of food. We were very satisfied with the Turkey Pesto sandwich and Black Bean burger. Service was excellent and very friendly. Recommended for family stops. :D read more

This place was great! It was the last place I stopped in Charleston before heading back home to Pittsburgh. My boyfriend and I ordered two separate things to split: the southwestern chicken wrap and the pesto turkey sandwich. The wrap was really good, but I'm personally not a cilantro fan and the cucumber salsa they put on the sandwich had cilantro in it. Other than that it was great! But my favorite was definitely the sandwich. The pesto tasted fresh and homemade, and the bread (from Charleston bakery) tastes fresh and homemade. We got a side of pasta salad, which was made with a mayo-base. Normally I don't like mayo-based pasta salad, but this one was out of this world. The only thing better than the food was the service. We were greeted with a very warm welcome when we arrived, and after finishing our meal were asked by two separate people (in a very polite way) if we had had enough and enjoyed our meal. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area! Next time I come to Charleston, I will definitely be stopping in. read more

Let me just tell you a little bit about Jamie, the janitor that works across the street that helps out there sometimes. Well Jamie isnt allowed to clean our desks because he has been caught wiping his nose on the rag before wiping our desks off. Several of us refuse to come to swiftwater anymore because he is often seen in the back or handling food items. Occasionally we might stop in for a drink, like this morning, i stopped in for a sweet tea. The young man at the counter was out of cups so he said he would have to go upstairs to get some. Jamie offered to go get them so he gave Jamie some keys and told him what he needed. In the meantime someone comes out of the kitchen and asks Jamie to get some sort of sleeves. Jamie went upstairs to get them and after about 5 minutes or so came back down without the cups. He then waited even longer before asking the young man at the counter "what did you need?" By this time i was almost late for work and could t wait any longer. Not only did i ask for my money back, but i will not come back to swiftwater as long as Jamie is allowed free reign and i will be letting my friends know, as well. Obviously it wont hurt your business and you probably dont care about a few customers not returning, but maybe you should think twice about the people you allow to help out in your establishment. read more

We were traveling through the area and looked up a place to get a quick lunch. We found Swiftwater cafe and tried it. It was a great experience. extremely nice people. Great and quick service during a lunch hour crowd. We had a BLT and a Turkey n Swiss on Rye. Both sandwiches were made perfect and delicious. We even got to try their apple blueberry muffins. Fantastic and Extremely tasty. I highly recommend anybody coming through Charleston to make it a stop. read more

Great little lunch spot. I usually get their hot dogs but have also had their burgers (only available a couple times a week) and a couple of their random specials. It is all pretty average food although i really like the hot dogs. Staff is nice and works quickly. The line can back up a ways sometimes but if you are paying cash and just grabbing a pre-made salad or wrap they sometimes have a second register open just for that. read more
