Our daughter with John, learning to swim.
    Jennifer S.

10/10 Highly Recommend! We had previously tried group swim lessons, but they just weren't working for our daughter. Within just two weeks of working with John, our two-year-old is not only swimming confidently--she also understands water safety. She can now get herself back to the wall or the steps from any angle in the pool, which gives us so much peace of mind. John is incredible--not just with the kids, but with the parents too. He coaches us right alongside our daughter, giving us the tools and confidence to keep practicing and reinforcing her skills at home. We're truly amazed at what she was able to accomplish in such a short time, and we're so grateful for John's guidance and support. If you're looking for results and a coach who truly cares, John is the one!

Last 2 classes, a parent gets in and learns the techniques so we can practice with our kid once their lessons with Mr. John are finished.

Swim2John was great! My son Nixon took his swim class last year. He's firm when he needs to be but can also be silly. My son respected and adored him. The first few practices for some kids/parents may not be for the faint of heart but just push through it and it's the most rewarding thing. We highly recommend Mr. John, this program works!!

Our first son was a swimmer by day 3. Our second son, by day 5. I continue to be shocked by how awesome this program is. John is great. His method is simple and it works.

Very happy with these classes. My 4.5 year old kid has mild sensory issues and doesn't really like the water. Bath time is even a struggle for me most days. She had been in a pool maybe 5 times before starting these classes, each time very reluctant to get her head in the water, so I knew traditional swim classes were going to be a nightmare for me. I'm very glad I opted for this approach. At the end of the two weeks I have a kid who can swim to the steps or side of a pool if she falls in (water safety), she is no longer afraid to put her head in the water, and can swim a few yards to me. Plus she's (mostly) conquered her main fears about swimming so I have something to work with to improve her skills. We went to a public pool this past weekend and after some initial hesitation she was back to diving in and practicing her strokes like the coach taught us. If you have a water-averse kid like mine, this approach basically pulls the bandaid off quick. To the parents reading this I do want to share that you may want to consider how the stress may impact you. That first day to the second was MISERABLE for me and her. She had lots of anxiety, couldn't sleep at night waking up throughout with bad dreams, and was crying off and on for 24 hours straight. She even wet herself at school. If that level of anxiety had continued I'm not sure I would have been able to stomach the program. It turns out her fear and anxiety were more crippling than actually getting in the water and during the second lesson she said she was having fun. But even though she said she liked it, she was nervous with tears throughout the two weeks. Learning this skill was stressful for her, and was frankly just as stressful for me too. If I were to do it all over again I would be more sensitive to the commute time to reduce the amount of anxiety that builds up before the lesson. I was desperate to get her water safe this summer so I went with a location that was available, even though it was 30 min a way from me.

Such a precious moment witnessing my son appreciate and trust John!

I chose Swim 2 John because my son NEEDS to know how to swim to the side and get himself out of a pool by himself.

Before ISR, we spent over a year in traditional once a week swim lessons. While he enjoyed the pool, he wasn't swimming independently, showed little advancement and didn't have the skills to get himself to safety. After hearing so many parents recommend Coach Brad, we were fortunate to get into the program. As a healthcare provider, I appreciated the full ISR intake process and personalization of each lesson. They always considered his sleep, diet, and daily routine, and knew exactly when to encourage him while keeping him confident and engaged. Knowing exactly when to challenge a child to advance a skill, when to offer reassurance, and how to do both within the brief window of a young child's attention span is no easy task. My Baby Swims instructors have truly mastered that balance. My son, who once struggled with fear and anxiety when transitioning into the pool area, is now confidently swimming the length of the pool with a huge smile and has the skills to safely navigate the water. Just as importantly, I now have the knowledge and confidence as a parent to continue supporting his progress. Thank you, Coach Brad, Coach Baye, and My Baby Swims, for giving our son the confidence and life-saving skills to be safer in the water.

This program goes far beyond traditional swim lessons. The one-on-one instruction is intentional, disciplined, and rooted in proven survival techniques. Watching my daughter learn how to roll onto her back and self-rescue if she ever falls into the water gave me a level of peace of mind I didn't know was possible. Coach Heather is absolutely amazing. Her patience, expertise, and ability to connect with such young children made all the difference. You can tell she truly cares about every child she teaches, and it shows in the results. They don't just teach children--they empower them. And they educate parents every step of the way, which makes the experience even more impactful. If you're considering ISR, don't hesitate. This is an investment in your child's safety, confidence, and lifelong capability around water. I cannot recommend it strongly enough.

We love the pool, obstacle course, and amenities (showers, etc). We arrive at opening and always find parking. Here's why I'm giving 3 stars and may not renew my pass for next year. The fun you have is dependent on who is on staff that day. I don't know what happened between this year and last, but this year is not great. Some lifeguards and people at the desk are so rude. On one hand, I'm sympathetic because I know these jobs can be seasonal and you have to train new people, deal with customers, safety, etc, etc. But they create so much confusion and then they're rude when you follow the rule someone else on staff gave you. Then you tell them another person told you to do that and they act like you pulled this info out of your own butt. Last time I was there, I was going back and forth from the pool to the desk because the lifeguard and desk staff couldn't agree on whether my kids needed wristbands. Like I said, if this is just confusion between newer staff, that's fine, I feel for you. But they were both SO rude about it and were getting annoyed with me ‍ This is just the recent example, but it's now probably half our visits that there's some weird triangulation between me and two staff members telling me different things. There are some people who work here that are awesome and friendly. When they do swim tests, they speak clearly to the kids and give instructions/expectations clearly. They're straightforward and friendly when we check in. I think he might be a manager (he wears the pit vipers and has facial hair), he's super friendly although I don't see him that much any more. Sorry I don't know their names, but always relieved when they're there (and coincidentally they all seem to be on the same page with the rules/expectations ).

We came to British Swim in hopes to grow my daughter's skills and technique. She was first apart of the Shark class then once they launched Barracuda in March 2024, Zoe and Jamal highly recommended her to join. It gave her the opportunity to push herself and grow her confidence in the sport she loved. For the days she had to make up from missing class at the PQ location she would go to the UTC location. We have always had a great experience there. The swim teachers for Barracuda at UTC were great especially Zoe and Tesla. One more important thing about going to UTC, your parking ticket is validated also by the gym. Being apart of this non-competitive swim team, Barracuda has really allowed growth in her technique, endurance and confidence. If you want your kids to one day be apart of competitive swim, we HIGHLY recommend British Swim School. They will make sure your child is ready to crush swim team try outs and set them up for success! We are grateful for all the swim teachers that have been apart of her journey! Also, thank you to Jamal who is always great at communicating and being flexible with make ups! You all truly show how much you value family!
