Called fossil and they didn't replace batteries in their own watches.....Image that.........I tired a well known high-end jewerly chain, I won't name, but they were willing to replace the battery for what I would later find, would be 6 times the price. I also had to wait a week......I did a quick google search near my location and found this place. Didn't need an appointment, walked right in and replaced the battery in less than 5 minutes for $15....Something as simple as getting a battery replacement in a watch shouldn't be such a task to get done. I went back to Swiss Service Center to get a battery changed in my Shinola watch. For some reason there are jewelers who won't work on Shinolas, which I don't get. Their address has changed, now they are at 905 W Hillgrove, unit 14. Just a bit farther west on the same street. They are located on the second floor of the office complex. Walked in and once again had excellent customer service. Was told to come back in 30 minutes, so I did my quick trip to Trader Joes. Battery was changed and water tested for $45. This is my go to place for my watches, as I am a highly satisfied customer! read more

I've been calling for weeks and they are closed. The new location is up a rickety staircase which I originally went to only to find them closed after all online info says they're open. I've left 2-3 messages and my phone to call me when they're open all to no avail. I brought in a ca.1988 Ladies Rolex M.O.P dial showing as many years of hard wear at the beginning of 2023. I was e-mailed an estimate for a total restoration on the watch and gave the 'go ahead.' Many parts needed to be ordered from overseas & places unknown. Very little contact was made from customer service while my Rolex was in another watchmaker's hands, so from time to time, I worried. I realized my Rolex wasn't the only watch he had taken in for repairs & complete restorations. It was more than changing a battery and water testing. My patience paid off when I received a phone call that my Rolex was ready for pick up late in 2023. It's beautiful and looks like brand new besides being the reliable time keeper Rolex is known for. Excellent value for the quality of work that was performed on this 'old lady watch!' I'd highly recommend Swiss Service Center for this type of high end brand watch repairs, but please have patience! read more

The worst experience I ever had!!! 4 months ago I left my Omega Seamaster and Tag heuer for small repairs at first glance every thing looked ok ,after a couple weeks I call the guy asking how long it is going to take to finish the job he said a few more weeks and charge me for some parts and half service 400$ .After that I called 100 times and nobody answered the phone, automatic answering machine play message that they currently closed, I left many voicemails but nobody ever call me back. The stem in my Baume & Mercier busted and was told by "an authorized" dealer that it would be between 3 - 6 months to ship it off, get it fixed, and get it back. What takes 3 months to get fixed anymore? This guy took a look, said it "was going to be tough" but that he was going to give it a shot. He started by trying to order a part from Baume and they were unresponsive. He gave up. Long and short he fixed it in a few weeks. And I would have paid twice what he charged me...any day of the week. This guy knows his stuff. Don't waste your time anywhere else. read more

We have used SSC in the past to have the batteries in our Rado and Piaget watches. They were good when we went there at their old location. They have since moved. We tried to contact them but did not get any return phone calls. We do not know if they are still open. We tried going there. But it is not a storefront like the picture on the website. It is on a second story. We knocked but there was no answer. We left and brought the watches instead to a jewelry store on Oakbrook that sells Piaget watches. I will bring to them in the future. I shipped my watch in for repair as they are an authorized Victorinox repair center. They said it wasn't covered under warranty. I declined service and asked that my watch be returned. They wanted a $20 handling fee. I sent them a prepaid USPS label and asked that my watch be sent back to me. They are holding my watch as ransom to get a $20 handling fee for doing absolutely nothing except opening the box and sending me an email to tell me that the watch isn't under warranty. They have to try to extort $20 service fees to make ends meet. I'm the owner of two successful businesses and this is not how business works. Don't bring your watch in for repair. They will try to extort you. read more

Two months after purchasing a new Swiss Army Watch, the knob fell off. The retailer directed me to this place, where they told me the part was not covered, and that the cost to "service" the watch was $110. Took it my local jeweler who repaired for $40. I guess my beef is with Swiss Army for the quality of the product and this operation for taking advantage of the situation. read more

Had a perfectly fine, brief experience here. I brought three watches--two Swiss Army, one Tissot--in here for batteries. A battery and pressure test for each was $35, which seemed a bit steep to me, but from what I can tell, is about the going rate for Swiss watches. (That'll teach me to stop living my high-class lifestyle.) The woman who helped me was perfectly friendly, and the watches were ready 45 minutes after I dropped them off--exactly as she told me they would be. Since I haven't gotten any heavy-duty repairs done here, I can't comment on that quality, nor on what some people seem to have experienced here. Oh yeah, make sure to check their website for directions to the shop--it's down an alley, and you might have trouble finding it if you haven't been there before. read more

I had sent the watch for repairs in mid-January 2020. The cost of repair plus the price of the watch total USD 800.00. I never heard back from them. The phone calls have never been answered. The voice mail was left many times, but never returned. Multiple emails were never answered. The inquiries were about the progress of repairs, no urges, no pressure, and yet... From the comments here I see they are well and alive, at least for walk-in service. I suppose this is a fraud on their part, which should be handled in a legal way. read more

Very easy transaction. Was referred to them by the Tag Heuer store. I called a day ahead of time to see if I could bring my watch in the next day for a battery change and water test. Was told the price of $45 up front and I asked if I could wait while the battery was changed. Just as anticipated, everything went smoothly. The whole process took maybe 15 minutes. I called mid-week to ask if they were open on Saturday. Person on the phone said yes they would be open on Saturday. The website also clearly lists hours as 11:00 - 4:00 on Saturdays, and provides directions, in case you want to drop off your watch instead of mailing it in. I am in the area but it is still a long drive. Lights were out and door was locked at 11:05 am. I hung around for half an hour and it was still closed at 11:35am. I had two watches to drop off and now I will take them elsewhere. Any business that does not open when they say they will cannot be trusted. Through a friend, I heard great things about this little shop in La Grange, and was a bit surprised to read the negative reviews from others. I first used Swiss Service Center a number of years ago when my Rado watch stopped running for no apparent reason (I do take very good care of my important jewelry pieces, but, hey, stuff happens). I was very happy with the repairs. For some reason, my Rado watch stopped running again recently. I immediately and I mean, immediately, contacted Swiss Service Center and sent them my watch. This watch, while maybe not as expensive as a Rolex, has a sentimental attachment that I could never replace. Once again, SSC returned my prized possession to me in perfect working order! Thank you so very much. Just a heads-up - this company will keep your watch for as long as it takes for them to diagnose the problem, clean your watch, synchronize it and then return it. I took my dad's Timex in because the back fell off and I couldn't get it back on. Despite the fact that they don't usually cover that brand, the man at the desk couldn't have been nicer (I didn't catch his name, I was a little emotional thinking it was broken for good). I had warranty work on my Victorinox done at their old address in LaGrange (sent via mail). Aside from the long process (it took about a month, all-in, to send it, repair it and receive it back), I was pleased with their work and professionalism. More recently I took the same watch to their new address for a battery replacement and water-resistance testing, it was $75. But it took only 20 minutes and Mizra was kind enough to show me a couple functions on it that I was unaware of. I'll be taking my Tag Heuer there soon as its battery died over the weekend. Took my watch to get repaired there in Sept 2018, receipt said to allow 8-12 weeks for repair. Which I did, I had to call a few times to see if it was repaired and ready, they would take my info and never returned call. I called again second week of FEB 2019 they said it was ready. Had I not called were they going to call me. I picked it up, its working now. They didnt even clean it. They are very pricey and want their money upfront. I have a Tissot that stopped keeping time. Battery replacement at local jeweler did not help, but they couldn't fix the watch. I found this place online and filled out the repair form (it's not near me.) They were upfront about the costs, and promised an estimate if I sent it in. The cost of the repairs which included cleaning, etc. could have purchased me a new watch, but this was a gift from my late husband, so I chose to have it repaired. Though it took a while, the watch is now on my wrist, looking like new and working perfectly. read more

Have used Swiss Service Center on a couple of past occasions and was quite happy with their service, so I sent 2 more watches for repair. I was given an accurate estimate of what needed to be done for both watches, and the time table for each. I authorized the service, and once again I was quite happy with their service. Sent in a watch using online estimate form. Was quoted ~$70 for repair, so I sent it in. Received quote via email that they had received it, and reiterated that it would cost $70. I called in to confirm that this estimate included issues with the second hand, and paid for the service by credit card over the phone. I received a call an hour later that there was a mistake and the watch would actually require a $225 movement maintenance fee, and I received a new estimate via email for a total of $300--which is 3 times the value of the watch! When I called later that day to ask what had happened, the person I spoke with kept blaming the woman who misquoted me, saying "she's new here and messed up." I asked for the watch to be returned without having to pay for shipping, since the mess up was on their end. The person I spoke with over the phone again blamed new hire and after a few minutes of talking to his manager decided he could cut off a portion of the $20 shipping cost. Swiss Service Center -- I feel sorry for your new employee, but please train better, don't use her as a scapegoat, and be accountable as a business! read more

I have an Omega. I have had it in this place a few times as they are an "authorized" repair shop for Omega. Well, I didn't know that that doesn't really mean anything. This place is at a minimum 25% higher than my local guy who did the exact same thing...and it was closer. I also had a slight dispute one time as I don't think their repair lasted very long. Long and short, the lady told me it was my fault they wanted another $450 to repair. I really don't think it was my fault. read more

Second time I used this service. Have a tissot touch expert. Brought it in for a battery replacement. Got it back in two weeks but they couldn't reseal watch for waterproofing. Said I needed an overall. Had to wait two weeks for an estimate of over $400. Said they were an authorized repair facility which I found out they weren't. I took watch and paid $45 for the battery replacement. Sent watch to tissot factory in nj. They said the battery was not factory approved. With a new battery and partial overall to get the watch resealed was around $250. Pretty much same experience 4 yrs ago for a battery replacement. Wound up going to nj again. I am an idiot to try theses people again. Just my experience!!! read more

Don't waste your time or money, get it serviced at another location. Abysmal customer service, took a week to call me back, can't answer questions, and take poor notes on information requests. Sent my Tissot watch in for repair, it did not work correctly when it was shipped back to me. Company claims the watch goes through a week a time testing. The watch couldn't hold time for a half day let alone a week. Had to spend my own money, to ship it back for warranty work. Company didn't contact me when sending it back, so now have to pay my own money to get my watch back. I am very leery of this company now as I suggested to them that if the watch did not work again, I would dispute the charge for shipping. If the watch works they have nothing to worry about. Now company will only except a money order, as payment for shipment, so I am out the shipping money if the watch is still not working properly. What happened to standing by your work, if it was real quality I wouldn't have this problem? read more

I have two Victorinox Swiss Army watches that are in need of new batteries. I have already replaced the batteries in these watches once in the past, and I have only owned these watches for around 4 years. When I previously needed the batteries replaced a couple of years ago, I followed the advice on the Victorinox Swiss Army website and sent them in to my nearby Authorized Repair Center, Swiss Service Center, Inc., and was charged a fair price for the battery replacement. However, I sent in the two watches for new batteries a second time in the past few weeks to Swiss Service Center, Inc. and was sent an estimate, just for a battery replacement, of $63.95 per watch (including return shipping). When I told Swiss Service Center, Inc., that I thought that this price was much too high and I was not going to pay it I was then told I would have to pay $18.95 in shipping per watch in order to get my watches back. Obviously I was left with no choice other than to pay these otherwise they would not send me my watches back. When I received the watches back, Swiss Service Center Inc., had spent only $11.20 in shipping costs. I was charged $26.70 more than they paid in shipping just so that I could get my unrepaired watches back. I am completely outraged over the attempted exorbitant repair costs for a simple battery replacement and forcing me to pay $37.90 in order to get my two watches back without any repairs. This kind of business practice is unacceptable. read more
