Favorite new breakfast place. Biscuits and gravy were best I've ever had in south Florida. I also had the Persian crepe which was excellent and the French toast, which was also excellent. Tons and tons of options for food on this menu that weren't just boring options, but looked fantastic that I can't wait to try. I was a big fan of the price/quality/taste combo here as well. Sooooooo, I will start off with I've been to this establishment a few times... not nearly enough for living less than .5 miles away... and?! They clearly do not need the review... AND?! I will most certainly provide one anyhow: This morning I woke up, and I literally had a crab cake benedict craving... from Slyvain's. Here is the deal tho- I never ever ever had the opportunity to have one. In the past, it's never been on the menu, when I get there... so?! Knowing this crapshoot... This is a home-cooked meal with a French twist! The quiche is on point. The lemon raspberry ricotta pancakes are killer. The Sunday specials are amazing and I love the service. This is not a fancy restaurant. It's a hometown gem. Unpretentious and comfortable. The know your name and say hello. Stopped over for breakfast and unfortunately disappointed. Basic food nothing special. The fact I paid $6 to add avocado when the menu said $2 didn't help. My GF and I were actually going to go to another place in the same plaza, but that line was absurd. We looked across the parking lot and saw this little place. There were a few patrons inside, and the menu looked pretty good so we went in. The staff was really friendly and attentive without being annoying and overbearing. The menu board behind my face is chock full of tons of delicious items. My GF ordered a tuna salad plate and I got the special of the day. We loved the food! A down home cozy type of food. The potato salad was delicious! I am very picky about potato salad. This one was more of a southern style and it wasnt sweet at all, thankfully. The portions were plenty for 2 meals for me. Overall: great food, great price! This restaurant is a 4 min drive from the beach, located in a plaza with other restaurants and shops. First impression walking in, it felt like a quaint cafe/diner with random decor (mountains, the terminator, Indiana Jones, the Eiffel Tower.) However the vibe was actually pretty comforting. We were seated at a table right in front of the door. If you know anything about Florida, you know it's 95 degrees outside. So when someone opened the door (which was often), it felt like Satan's breath blowing at us every 2 minutes. They tried to counteract the heat by turning on the ceiling fan and with AC but the placement of that table is terrible for anyone sitting there. (Not to mention groups of people standing literally right next to you that are waiting for a table.) They have a chalk menu and a physical menu. We ordered off the chalk menu and because it was the weekend, we got a free mimosa. The coffee was actually very good. Not watered down and decent roast. We got the crab cake eggs Benedict, pulled pork eggs Benedict and the strawberry French toast. All of it, delicious! My personal fav was the crab cake eggs Benedict and the challah French toast. The biggest downside (other than our seating placement) was the service. I believe the owner was there and he was a nice man, friendly, pouring coffee and taking away plates. However our waitress came to our table to pretty much take our order, give us the food, and give us the check. It was hard getting a hold of her. The restaurant wasn't completely packed but she would rush by our table every so often to assist other patrons. When she gave us our check, she disappeared for more than 30 minutes. We had to ask the owner to help us with the check (we were charged for an item we never got). Also there was another woman who was picking up our plates with the most sour face, and when we said thank you, she didn't even look at us and walked away. All that to say, I still would come back! Another visitor who went looking for a different restaurant only to discover a hidden dive gem with with a wide range of food options for all day breakfast and a lunch menu. I was a customer for years and don't plan on going back. It may sound petty, but I asked to have the hollandaise sauce for my eggs Benedict put on the side, but Sylvains refused. The owner of this restaurant is the most miserable, rude woman we have ever experienced in a restaurant. We have been there twice , the first time she was outwardly rude to my husband and we chalked it up to her having a bad morning. Today we went in and it started all over, just nasty. Sit where you want she said , then proceeded to tell us where to sit. 5 min later she sent over a waitress who was obviously new and yelled at her to take certain tables first. The waitress seemed confused and took our coffee order. The owner knocked a bowl off the counter right by our table so my husband picked it up for her. She grabbed it out of his hand with not so much as a thank you or a glance in our direction and pounded it on the counter. If she's so miserable she should close up house and not make her customers feel as if they are bothering her. We got up and left without even coffee. Earlier before the waitress came to our table we heard her talking about this woman, I think her boss and said "she is always so snotty ". I guarantee she won't work there very long. One of my favorite things about a restaurant is being able to come in and sit down right away. I've lived in Pompano Beach for over a year now and I had never tried this café. Our waitress was extremely nice and courteous. The food was delicious! We sat at a high top table with no problem. The food was flavorful without the abundance of unnecessary spices. This led me to have to find my own breakfast, so this little mom and pop restaurant popped up during my Yelp search and the food looked great. In no time, I called and placed my order for my pick-up. The croissant was amazing and exactly what I was looking for, but the grits did need some work since they were a little bland. The staff was also extremely pleasant upon pick up. The food was barely edible, toast was cold, bacon was sitting so long and so overcooked it was like BacOs. Home fries were cold and tasteless. Horrible service!!! Went in with my 86 year old grandmother and 2 year old daughter. I was a hostess and a waitress, mind you. There were 5 empty tables and she told me to wait because there were cleaning up a table for 3. It's a very small place, they weren't cleaning anything off. Ten minutes, my grandmother got tired of standing, the waitress informs me they have no high chairs. I tell her I don't need one, my daughter will sit on my lap. There were empty tables. I actually found this place on Yelp and read all the reviews it was absolutely delicious. We drove up it has the cutest outside you can sit if it's not too hot out, but go inside it's very charming. The menu has so much to offer it has a little bit of everything from eggs to pancakes to waffles which we had a waffle for an appetizer delicious. The server came over it is old school was she writes everything down everything you can actually see is made fresh to order. I chose the crab cake eggs Benedict it is all crab meat hardly any filling it was very nice. I highly recommend visiting for a fresh start to a morning and then take a ride down to the beach. read more

Here is a picture of their so called cappuccino, it was literally American coffee with cinnamon and when I told the waitress the cappuccinos were not good , her answer was "we've never had a complaint about our cappuccinos" well... as far as I know cappuccino is not done with American coffee. We stumbled on this sweet little Cafe by accident. We wanted to go to another place in this plaza and they were closed...like brown paper on the door and window closed. We walked a bit and like Goldilocks one place was no masks, one place kinda funky and voila....Sylvains....it was just right. We were able to sit outside (covid still freaks me out), the menu was great as was the staff. I only ordered breakfast food....eggs scrambled with Swiss, bacon and hash browns. Everything was so fresh and cooked to perfection. Sylvain is the chef and you can see him cooking and man can he cook. Hes also a very nice guy. I really enjoy the food here, but it's a shame the servers here are so snippy. Lucky it is to be a popular restaurant and be busy. But servers do not need to be rude for no reason to people asking reasonable questions as they enter the establishment, such as "are there any tables available?'" or "how long is the wait?" We do not need to have our heads bitten off if you're having a bad day!! We had more than one server there give us an attitude and it was completely uncalled for. Pretty sure we won't be back.
