I know I'm in the minority but I am unimpressed with these waffles, specifically the waffle sandwich. Maybe I tried this truck on an off morning but: - my waffles were undercooked while my husband's were just shy of burnt. - the waffles in both cases needed much more flavor. An extra hit of vanilla or spices or something. - the egg was unseasoned, not a drop of salt or pepper to be found anywhere. - the cheese was some sort of super mild cheddar I think. If I hadn't actually seen it laying there on my waffle, I would have thought they'd forgotten it. My husband's sandwich must have been an attempt to cover up mistakes because he had burnt cheese (crispy, brown, burnt cheese) stuck to one side of one egg AND a patch of melted cheese on the other egg. The price is right. The concept is right. The long line makes me hope that normally it's tasty stuff. I would give this truck another chance IF I'm in the area (I'd not make a special trip) or if I ran into it at a different location. For now, there are other waffle trucks to try. read more

My favorite sweet items are the liege waffle and the waffle pops (waffle on a stick dipped in chocolate). The breakfast sandwich is also pretty great. These three items are alone worth 5 stars. Be sure to get their early as they may run out of items. I've always been there before 11am or so, and they are generally still stocked on the items I normally get. Some misses: The first time I ordered the Pepperberry Chicken Waffle I loved it, however the following 3 times I ordered it I was less impressed. It's a waffle topped with morsels of chicken topped with cheese. The first time the waffle was a bit soggy from the chicken and it was this delicious, chickeny-cheese mush. Ever since it was a plain dry waffle just topped with chicken. I think the first time it may have been a "mistake", but it was so much better soggy! If you'd like something savory I'd recommend the breakfast sandwich instead. The quiches were just ok, but I'm not big on quiches to begin with. read more

My husband and I stumbled across the Thomas Waffle Truck this morning when we realized that the restaurant that we had planned on going to didn't open until later. I had the sweet waffle with strawberries and my husband had one with apples. Fresh strawberries on a yummy waffle it was awesome! We split a quiche which was also very tasty. We have been looking for good brunch places in Howard County since we moved out of Baltimore City three years ago and we are generally disappointed with the lack of options. As I ventured through the Kendall's hardware parking lot in Clarksville, I sought out T&J's for the first time... let me just say that I cannot wait to go back. Their different kind of batters to match different menu items is genius! They use a sweet batter for sweeter dishes and a savory batter for things like the tuna melt. This food truck comes out often to the Riverdale Town Center (RTC) on Thursdays. which usually has 20 craft beers on tap. RTC is awesome to begin with but this food truck with its waffle sandwiches takes it to a whole new level. Craft beer with waffle sandwiches is unholy and doggone good. I had the pulled pork waffle sandwich and my wife had the brisket waffle sandwich. I loved the pulled pork but the brisket was even better when my wife gave me 1/4th of her sandwich when she was too full to finish it. Will be trying their other sandwiches. They definitely took some time to make their sandwiches ( about 10 minutes ) but well worth it since its fresh and they do use a vibrating pager system to let you know when it's time to put down your glass and go out to the food truck to pick up your waffle 'wich. read more

Food out of a trailer? They couldn't even spring for a truck. This thing is all the rage among the sententious "foodie" population in Clarksville. Given its popularity, I had to give the trailer a try. I arrived at 11 a.m. Saturday morning to a large crowd. About half an hour elapsed from the time I arrive to the time I received my food, which isn't a terrible wait inside of a restaurant but is quite annoying if you are standing out in the cold January air. Naturally, I ordered the chicken & waffles. To my dismay, I only received one piece of grilled (not fried, as others have noted) chicken and two waffles. Bizarrely, the piece of chicken and two waffles also came with a piece of lettuce and two pieces of bacon. I guess the people running the trailer wanted me to make some sort of waffle-chicken sandwich? Ultimately, I will stick to restaurants like Miss Shirley's for real chicken & waffles. On a positive note, this trailer gives patrons handheld buzzers that activate when their food is ready. From first hand experience, I can confirm that the buzzer will work inside of Kendall's. read more

Had these waffles recently. We got both a chocolate inside with bananas and raspberries and the grilled cheese and tomato basil soup. The waffle was great (as expected from the other reviews) but what gets 5 stars is the grilled cheese and soup! Fantastic! Grilled cheese is basically cheese on top of a waffle, soup was so tasty! So good!! They are in the parking lot of Kendall's Hardware on 108 right off of 32, most Saturdays from 8-2. I only discovered this two weeks ago and I've already been back both Saturdays.....and its over a 40 min drive from me. That says a lot. I had the Grilled cheese/tomato soup combo the first time. The saltiness of the cheese went so well with the tiny hint of sweetness in the waffle. The soup had a overpowering basil taste, not in a good way. Besides that it was creamy, just need to tone down the basil. The next time I had an egg and cheese waffle sandwich..... absolutely delicious and so filling!! Its served open faced in the box and I prefer to eat it that way. The problem is that because of all the steam from the hot eggs/cheese, the waffle gets soggy on the bottom. I've learned to open the box right away and stick some paper napkins underneath the waffles to slow down the sogginess. It helps a little bit. This is why I'm taking off a star. Wish they would figure out a way to give us non-soggy waffles for sandwiches. The liege waffles are also fantastic. I get the apple cinnamon one. The apples are fresh and its not overly sweet, just the perfect amount. The portion size is good for the price too. Why would anyone choose to eat artificially flavored sugar loaded crap from IHOP when this is a perfectly fresh and delicious breakfast at a better price? read more

I came last Saturday, to Kendall's Hardware, and I will be coming back again for sure. I couldn't believe how light the liege waffle with banana and Nutella was. It is a perfect snack for a weekend breakfast. I bought a few quiches for my kids, spinach, ham and bacon. We had them for lunch that day and it was a real crowd pleaser. Chef Thierry and his son Thomas run the back while his daughter Julie takes care of the crowd. She definitely knows how to deal with the large volume of customers Thomas Waffles brings in. I will be heading back this weekend to try the new Cookies Delight that he just tweeted about! Can't wait. This place is near Kendall Hardware Store. At first it looks like an ordinary food truck, but once you see the long lines, you will be desperate to take a look, or should I say taste? :D It it set up in a parking lot, and I remember waiting for a long time because of all the people. Everybody seemed to know each other, and the people inside were chatting with some customers. I remember one guy saying, "So you'll be back next Sunday (Saturday, maybe)?" I figured that guy came back every Sunday (or Saturday) so I thought this place would be good. It was mindblowing. The waffles are very delicious.. I don't know how to describe it, the waffles are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside... They add these sugar things, I don't know how to describe that either, its like magic inside your waffle! Not only that, but they also have fruit selections and meat! I ordered whipped cream and berries! It was really good, and the fruit was juicy and the whipped cream really added a perfect touch! My mom got a chicken waffle, and it comes with a side of sauce. They have big portions, and we were able to steal some of hers for ourselves to try :D Definitely recommend. Strawberry and nutella waffles are out of this world and worth all of the hype this place gets. People have looked at the price and thought a bit high, but you are definitely getting your money's worth. The waffles are filling, satisfying and toppings fresh. The strawberries have been very sweet and plump. If you get a savory sandwich, the meat is overflowing. I've had the breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, sausage AND bacon; the brisket sandwich - my friend who does not even care for meat could not get enough of the brisket; and grilled cheese. All have been very scrumptious. I've been to the hardware store location in Clarksville several times and every time, there is a line of eager customers. The owner and staff are always very friendly. The first bite was.....I just looked at my husband and he knew he had to try it. So so so so good and the egg was runny..even better. Had grilled chicken and avocado waffle sandwich today, will have fruit and waffle later (though I had a taste of the fruit -- very fresh!). The chicken was perfectly cooked, with subtle seasonings, and half an avocado was on the sandwich with bacon and lettuce and a delicious sauce as well. Purchased blueberry cookies too large to eat at lunch and altogether the price was very reasonable. Service was fast off the truck and it was clear a chef was on board! I have been coming here since 2015 and I noticed a decrease in quality in there waffles. The last few times I have been, the waffles were cold and soggy and it seemed as though it had been sitting for a while. The line is always long on Saturday mornings, but the staff used to have orders out quick. Now, I wait anywhere from 15-25 minutes for one order. The gorgeous day helped but we had a lovely picnic lunch on the soft green grass next to the waffle truck. Elementary aged kids will have plenty with a regular French waffle (think 2 mini sized Belgian waffles) and my husband and I split a Classic breakfast sandwich (egg, bacon,cheese and sausage between 2 French waffles) and an order of the French waffles. We normally have syrup on our waffles, and they do have some there, however we all had berries and whip cream and not one of us missed the syrup! Very friendly staff. There was a good size line, maybe 10, but it moved at a decent pace. We waited a total of 30 minutes between waiting in line and then waiting for our order, but it was well worth it!! read more

I would give them 5 stars if it weren't for them completely ignoring requests for syrup. Love the food and prices. Five times in a row, I've asked for syrup and not received any. Time before last, asked for syrup and talked to the server about it being missing each time. When handing me the bag, it was in the food in the top container, not the bottom, so again, what the heck? This time, no syrup again. I can understand having to ask for syrup, but the fact that they consistently leave it out doesn't warrant 5 stars. If I go for breakfast I always get a sausage egg and cheese on a waffle and a french waffle topped with raspberries. For lunch I love the pulled pork or BLT. The tomato basil soup is SO good and comforting. They have two kinds of waffles- French and Leige. If you do not like sweet things like myself, then get the French waffle. This truck is the best! I always get the liege waffle with strawberry & banana drizzled with Nutella. They are "thinner" French style waffles with less deep "pockets" than traditional. I think they serve a traditional type waffle also. The waffle bites are some kind of perfection. The sandwich wasn't all that great. A bit on the greasy side but the waffles fat out weigh any complaint! *check out the news article taped to their window for a little of intrinsic value to your meal...a young high schooler started it to earn money to go to college...so good the whole family works there now!
