Ok, supposedly it's a French waffle, but either way, it's probably my new favorite breakfast. Why oh why does it have to be in Clarksville??? Ordering is pretty simple, you look at the menu, or pick something off the board and tell the guy, who will check it off on his clipboard. It's a pretty simple system but efficient since it's a food truck. All of the people in the truck were pretty friendly and affable people who answered our questions well. We had no idea what a liege waffle was, but they showed us and I happily obliged by ordering both! The liege waffle with apples and cinnamon was so good that even thought I gorged myself on the waffle sandwich first, I managed somehow to find room to eat the entire waffle! I almost needed someone to roll me to the car after! My companion also got the liege waffle with strawberries and dulce de leche and it was amazing! It's a waffle truck! You can't get any better than this for a waffle truck and their food should be served in a real restaurant! Wow, what an experience. It was my first time there. I pulled up and there was a line, already a good sign for me. Anytime there's a line and it's cold outside, it has to be good. And yes it was. I got their waffle with sausage and bacon on it. I thought that would be too much meat, but it wasnt. Everything was perfect. The food was hot and the waffle was light and airy. They gave me a pager so I would know when my food was ready, I loved that because it allowed me to sit in my car and wait instead of crowding around the truck. I will definitely be back. They are also easy to find. I called them to see if they were open before I arrived, I was a little disappointed when I didn't get an answer. But they called me back and answered my questions even though I'm sure they were busy. 5 stars, keep it up. read more

Amazing. I never would of thought a waffle truck could be so good! I went here based off of reviews on yelp feed and I was not let down. I ordered a Nutella banana waffle and a bbq chicken ranch sandwich. Let start off with saying the chicken BBQ ranch came on a waffle, just in case you didn't understand the whole waffle truck situtation like myself, I was completely caught off guard when I opened my box and it was on a waffle, but it makes sense. I took a bite and was hooked! I was going to save it for my lunch but wanted to try it freshly made and I couldn't stop eating it! so good! The Nutella banana waffle was delicious, fresh pressed waffle topped with freshly cut bananas and drizzled in Nutella sauce topped with confectioner sugar, a treat on a cold snowy day! Not sure why others are commenting on what kind of truck...yes, it's a food truck so as long as it looks clean it isn't really an issue. I will definitely be back. I got the sausage, egg, cheese, waffle sandwich. Basically it is like a French Waffled version of KFCs infamous double down and for $5 it's a bargain. My friend got the bacon version and said it was microwave bacon. I am sure my sausage wasn't anything special either. But I came for the waffles! :) They were just right and thank goodness not too sweet as some places get you hooked on sugar. They give you a pager so take a stroll through Kendall's Hardware where they park their van. It's savory and sweet all in one bite. Well, Thomas Waffles Truck is pumping out a more elegant and sophisticated version of the savory, sweet breakfast sandwich. Two eggs, (in my case) 2 sausage patties sandwiched between two delicate, light waffles. You can opt for cheese, bacon, or have all 4 savory options in 1 sandwich. The waffles have just a tad of sweetness, crisp on the outside, and have that airy, pillowly lightness and likeness of a Belgian-style waffle. And the price, just $3 just cannot be beat. But the real reason I came here was the try freshly made liege-style waffles. Liege waffles are made from dense, sticky dough which is very different from the batter made waffles. Liege waffles also have pearl sugar. As the dough cooks in the hot waffle iron, the pearl sugar starts to melt, creating a caramel-like taste sensation within the waffle. Liege waffles are much harder to recreate at home, so I just had to try it. Thomas waffle truck's rendition ($2.50) is a decent version of the ones I've tried in Europe; just not as caramelized as the ones I've had in Belgium. This place has gotten a lot of press lately, so I think there might be some wait time issues. So be patient! Another thing, I wish they would use different packaging. Currently, they use plastic clamshell containers. If you don't eat your waffle immediately or if there's a long wait time and there's a difference in expediting certain items, the packed waffles get soggy due to the trapped heat and moisture in the plastic clamshell. One thing would be to cut the corners off the container to allow venting or maybe use paper-based container might help. Totally recommend just eating whatever you order right there and then. Why did I wait so long to try this place?! I've had T&J waffles bookmarked for a while and forgot about it. My husband and I were in the area this morning so we decided to grab breakfast there. I got the sausage sandwich and he ordered a sausage bacon sandwich. I wanted to try the liege waffle so I ordered that as well with mixed berries. To drink, OJ and coffee. First, my sandwich came with two patties which was unexpected. It was actually too much meat for me but I just pulled one off, not complaining. It was delicious. I didn't need syrup or anything. My husband loved his sandwich as well. On to the mixed berry liege waffle -just wow! The crunchy sugar crystals in the waffle and the crispy outside paired with amazing berries was great. I don't know where they get the fruit, but the blueberries and blackberries were some of the best I've ever had. Service was fast and friendly. I'll be back....often. read more

I got the bacon, egg, and cheese. The waffles were so good!! Just the right amount of crispy on the outside- soft middle and lightly sweet buttery tasting. It wasn't skimpy on the bacon either. Complaints: the eggs were inconsistently cooked- on one side it was very runny, the other one was not. Also, in my opinion, there was WAY too much cheese. It just dominated the egg, so I pulled it off the second half. (I'm probably alone on complaining about too much cheese, I know.) I think the price of $6.40 is fair. The two halves were big. I bit expensive for what you get but I feel like if this place grows and enhances their product, it will be a highly sought after truck! Such a great "place" we visit the waffle truck at kendall's hardware and my kids love it after Saturday morning soccer games. These are true French "gaufres" very much like something you would find on the left bank of Paris. A little carny like trailer right next to an ancient church in St. Germaine. The portions and toppings are all correct and they don't serve anything they can't get perfect. Which might be why there is no coffee available. I so wish there was! Let me preface this review by saying I am not a a waffle guy. But wow their waffles are great. They have an extensive selection of sweet and savory choices. The berry waffle is quite delicious but I tend toward the savory end of the menu. The egg & cheese waffle and the spinach Florentine are worth the trip. I have a hard time exploring the menu because I know either of those choices will make me happy. But I do want to try the vegetarian waffle which has avocado and tomato on it. At first you may be startled by 6-8 price for most waffles but you get 2 open-face waffle sandwiches for that price which makes it comparable to most fast food meals which are inferior to food from T&J food truck. Saturday's they sit in the parking lot of Kendall's Hardware. Parking can be tough to find in the summer but if you get there for breakfast before the Pizza Hut next door opens you will be fine. I've been a fan of T&J Waffles since I first encountered them ~2 years ago. They occasionally come to one of our buildings for lunch, so I've only tried their savory offerings. The chicken and brisket are both very flavorful, and portion sizes are rather generous as well. I'd venture to say that the brisket is (usually) some of the best brisket I've had anywhere. I caveated that with "usually" because I was a bit disappointed in the quality of the brisket on my most recent visit this week. It was noticeably fatty and gristly, which was an unpleasant/unexpected change from previous visits. Hopefully it was an anomaly and not the new norm. The waffles themselves are light and fluffy, but not crispy. I think that's most likely due to the steam from the meat in the container. The slight sweetness of the waffles counterbalances the savory meats very well. If they came to our building for breakfast, I'd definitely try some of their sweeter options. read more

This is seriously one of my favorite spots since living in Maryland. Of the 20 people I have taken here, only one wasn't a fan...and she's also no longer my friend... So you can see where you loyalty lies. The brisket is to die for. We've made it a Saturday tradition to go WAY out of our way to get some of the greatest waffles in the world!! Each time I try to get something different but those waffles with fruit just keep calling my name. Mixed berries with whip** Strawberry banana with speculoos** Raspberries with nutella* Apple cinnamon** Chocolate filled* All amazing. But I can only ever finish eating one. The waffles are sweet and slightly crunchy on the outside, but amazingly soft, warm and fluffy on the inside. Recently my boyfriend got the waffle bites with ice cream. Um wow, now THAT is a killer brunch treat! The truck also offers bottled water and orange juice if you need to set your whistle. Our total this time for an Apple cinnamon and a chocolate filled waffle was $10, and it was money worth spending! We've taken people from out of town to try these waffles and they always equal up to the hype we I've them. Even with a bigger order the wait isn't too bad. The people here are happy and efficient, they will let you know when they have to slow things down to get waffles out. Totally cool with that, just make those waffles perfect! I don't know how I haven't reviewed T&J yet, I'm OBSESSED with this food truck! It sounds dramatic, but when I recommend them to people, my exact words are 'That truck changed my LIFE!' Heheh! But no, really, it's nothing short of amazing. I'm a huge breakfast food guy, and I'm also a huge dessert guy. What do you get when you put these things together? WAFFLES! It's perfect! I literally track this truck's location by their posts online, and try to get to them at least once or twice per week. Nobody does waffles better than T&J. Honestly, I've never had better waffles. It's in the batter they use to make their liege waffles (the dessert-y kind - there's a different batter for the savory waffles). I could eat one of those with no toppings and still be completely happy. Typically, I get e liege waffle with strawberries/blueberries, whipped cream and syrup. It's gorgeous to look at. I eat every bite of it every time. Pricing is super reasonable, with this waffle coming in at 5 or 6 bucks (it's a good-sized waffle as well). This place is AMAZING! I know that the chicken and waffle thing has been done before, but they take it to the upper echelons. I typically get the asiago chicken and it's so good that after the first bite you just want to close your eyes and let the tears of happiness stream down. This is one of those rare moments when you should believe the hype! I moved further north recently and decided to venture out on a Saturday morning to the food truck. Following the location posts on yelp, I arrived shortly after 9:30am. They park their truck at various locations in the county, so you should check their twitter feed before you head over to know where to go. I've caught them outside Kendall Hardware in Clarksville. Nutella filled banana waffles? SO GOOD. Waffle sandwich with sausage, bacon, and cheese? SO GOOD. Their liege waffles, Belgian waffles with chunks of caramelized sugar on the outside, are superb. I looked up recipes and they are significantly more complicated to make than an average waffle, so it's great to know that I can just drive to T & Js and get a fix. This was the best Belgian waffle I've ever eaten, including the one I ate in Belgium! We were on our way to do an errand nearby, and Yelp pointed us in T&J's direction. I checked their Twitter feed (@TandJWaffles) and found they were in front of Kendall Hardware; a few minutes later we were in a short line. The waffle was done so quickly I wondered whether it had been pre-baked, but the cloud of steam that wafted out at me as I opened the container indicated otherwise. I can only speak for my waffle, but I don't think I'd ever be able to order another one as this was SO good. First a thin layer of Speculoos, a spread made from pulverized gingerbread cookies -- think pumpkin pie with the consistency of peanut butter. That was topped with sliced bananas and perfectly-ripened strawberries. The whole thing was about the size and shape of my hand, making it easy to pick up (a little like a taco) and take a bite. Creamy fall spices, fresh fruit and crispy, cinnamon sugar-kissed waffle in every mouthful: I was in heaven for $6. My husband ordered chicken salad, which came on two smaller waffles (English muffin-sized.) It was good, though a little too mayonnaisey; however, there was a nice big lettuce leaf on each piece to keep the waffle from getting soggy. I find myself waking up Saturday morning, grabbing my cell phone, and checking their twitter page first thing in the morning to see how close they are. The breakfast sandwiches are ginormous and excellently flavored. While a good problem to have, sometimes I wish they were smaller simply because I am greedy and would like to try something else.
