i would not do business with this company. I placed an order for a gold chain as a gift. My VISA card was charged the full amount. I did not receive notice of mailing of the item, which was needed by a specific date. When I went on line to check the status of the order I found it had been cancelled the same day as the order was made, but my VISA had not been credited. I called the company and also notified the Ruby Lane website, where I had found the shop. Ruby Lane customer service responded quickly and said they were working with the individual shop on my refund. The shop responded and said they had cancelled the order because the item was no longer available. They did NOT explain why my VISA had not been credited for almost a week - until both Ruby Lane and I had contacted them. All I received from the shop was an email saying they "regretted the incident." This is NO WAY to run a professional business. Go elsewhere for your jewelry needs. read more

My yelp elite girlfriend and I love to over analyze our buyer experiences small and large and this has to be the best of the year. I can't speak highly enough regarding the level of service provided by Tom. On a recommendation from a friend I came in for a consultation with Tom on an engagement ring I was looking to purchase. He told me to bring in a drawing or picture of the ring I was looking for and he would see what he could do. It's a small little shop in Arlington center that's been in business for just about 25 years. I arrived with pictures in hand and we discussed the setting and the gem stone. He said the setting I was looking for was unique but that he would be able to replicate it and that he would have no problem acquiring the gem stone I was looking for. I came back in when he had created a plastic version of my ring and had the gem stone ready. He placed the gem stone in the plastic ring to give me an idea of what it looked like and I thought it was exactly what I had asked for. The next time I came in he had crafted the ring and asked me to confirm that it was exactly what I wanted before he permanently set the stone in the ring. Grabbed a coffee, came back and my ring was done!!! My experience with Tom really left me feeling like he really cared about the ring he was making for me and that he wanted me to be happy with it. All throughout the consultation and design process as he explained to me the differences between all the metals and gemstones, I really felt he was looking out for my best interests and not just trying to make a quick buck. Going so far as to suggest various ways I could modify my original design to save me money. As a cheap bastard I must say I was EXTREMELY happy with the final price. I would have had to spend considerably more getting something similar from another jeweler or online and for this level of service I couldn't be happier paying the low price that I did. read more

I should have written this review back in june/july, but I'm a bit lazy. I came to T C Jewelers after reading your reviews, and getting told what I liked from a chain jewelery story. I had 1000 questions, and the staff was very nice, answering every one of them (some of which added more questions, but that's fine). Even more impressive is that when I first came in, I was in shorts and a tshirt after biking home from work, and it was pouring outside. I was half expecting to be thrown out/dismissed, instead, I was treated very well. I left that day with nothing, but I came back a few days later, and got a great looking ring (and got the answer I wanted after giving it to her). So I am thrilled with the place. Summary: Nice, small, when you are there and they treat you like their only customer. Edit: I just brought said ring in for a repair (we managed to damage it, our fault) and they fixed the ring, shined it up, the works. I'm sticking with "they treat you like their only customer". I had three pieces of jewelry to bring in. One being a claddagh ring my mom got me years ago and the band has broken twice. Instead of just re-attaching it, they thickened it and also polished it. This was something my mom found at an antique store, and it looks brand new. The other two, well, I have tiny wrists, so no watch or bracelet, etc., seems to fit. They fit this bracelet very well, and being an odd piece, I knew it'd be a little different sort of work. The watch, in about 2 minutes, they had removed the extra links, and the only thing keeping me from wearing it is the weight of it. These guys did an excellent job and were friendly and quick. Tom, the owner, and his wife Winnie, are so customer service driven it's amazing! Just one example of a recent experience: Tom re-sized a ring for me but, while resizing it the heat from the tools damaged the stone. Not only did he replace the stone - with a much better quality stone but, he did all the work of recreating the bezel , setting the stone, securing the stones all around, and only charged me the cost for the resizing....a mere $30!!!! They have made several custom pieces for me that exceeded all my expectations! I commended them for their impeccable work and customer service. The first project was redesigning an heirloom ring to become my engagment ring. We settled on a design that was unique, but totally my taste. Tom created a silver (not plastic!) mold of the ring to make sure that everything was perfect. Once we gave the okay, Tom completed the ring in less than two weeks and Winnie provided a professional appraisal for insurance purposes. I receive so many compliments and whenever I stop by TC Jewelers, Tom always checks to make sure no stones are loose and polishes it up beautifully. More recently I visited TC Jewelers to have a different heirloom ring turned into a pendant. I wanted a unique design that incorporated two baguette diamonds that flanked the center stone in the original ring setting. Tom and Winnie to the rescue. This place was amazing from the second I walked in. I needed to get my engagement ring re-sized and the woman I spoke to was friendly and very helpful. She said it would take thirty minutes (that's right, not two days, not a week, just thirty minutes!) to have my ring ready. I also was curious if they could set my stone a little lower, which she said was not a problem. I asked again for the time, which was just a extra half hour and the price was really reasonable. I came back in exactly one hour and my ring was ready. It looked incredible. I couldn't have been happier with my experience at TC Jewelers. i called ahead to see if TC could fix a ring that had broken and already the experience was positive when i talked to the owner minnie. she explained what might need to go into the repair and quoted me at $25, which is way less than i expected for such a repair. when i arrived in the store, she remembered me from our conversation and investigated the damage. as it turned out the post from the ring had broken off and was stuck in the pearl that came off, which was a little more difficult than how she had expected from our phone conversation. she explained this to me and apologized that it might be more expensive but i was so relieved to hear that it would still just be $40. i got the ring back a few days later and it looked brand new, i was so happy with their work. read more

I bought a ring in France on the streets, and the design made it really hard to resize. The stone is a domed garnet sitting in a shallow round bezel and two supports that hold it in. I had two Yelp-recommended jewelers say they wouldn't touch it because the garnet would discolor in the heat, the bevel would loosen. I brought the ring in, met with the woman who is the co-owner, I think. She was very certain this could be resized without damage to the garnet or causing a loosening. She drew a small picture of how they would approach this tricky thing, consulted with her jeweler on site, and gave me many assurances about the safety of the garnet. It cost a shocking $45 dollars to resize, but they really did a perfect job. And tightened the setting, to boot, as it was coming loose anyway. I hope I have this ring forever because it's a street find that's one of a kind and quite amazing! read more

My boyfriend and I live in Los Angeles, and never in a million years would I ever have thought I would be getting my ring done all the way in Boston! While my boyfriend and I were visiting Boston, we went to T.C Jewelers to look around on a friend's suggestion. However, within 10 minutes of talking to Tom and Winnie - I told my boyfriend I wanted my ring done here. Tom and Winnie are extremely candid and trustworthy. They really take customer service to the next level, walking through (hand holding) my boyfriend and I throughout the whole process. Let me just say, I'm a very particular and picky person; some may even call me a bit crazy at times. But I'd like to think I just know what I want. :) My dream ring was a cushion cut set with a very thin micro pave halo and thin micro pave band. However, I've heard that rounds sparkled the best out of all diamonds. So, I was very torn between cushion and round. Obviously I want something that sparkles right? Winnie was very patient and explained to me thoroughly about the mechanics of diamonds and told me I should just get what I love, and not worry about the sparkle. She kept saying "Everything will sparkle! It is all about finding that perfect diamond with the best cut." Winne is a GIA certified gemologist and extremely well connected in the diamond network. I knew we were in good hands. From that moment on, my boyfriend took full control and worked with Winnie in finding my perfect cushion stone to surprise me. Now, let's move on to the setting. I've seen pretty gaudy and poorly made halos in my lifetime and I was afraid I would end up with something I did not like. Throughout the course of the months, I've probably looked at hundreds of YouTubes and pictures of cushion cuts and halo designs. I told my boyfriend what I envisioned, a "not too chunky, not too gaudy, very thin and delicate" setting. My boyfriend worked with Tom and came up with a design even better than I imagined. His craftsmanship and attention to detail is just unbelievable! My boyfriend said the most stressful part for him was having the ring mailed from Boston to LA. But Winnie was very attentive and assured him it would be just fine. She texted him a copy of the overnight USPS confirmation with insurance coverage, and even followed up with texts when the package arrived in LA and was out for delivery to his office. My boyfriend received the ring, securely packed and in a medium sized unassuming package (smart by Winnie) within 24 hours. He was very happy with his experience. The outcome of my ring is more perfect than anything I could have imagined. I've gotten so many compliments about my ring, even from strangers. I am absolutely in love... I can't stop staring at it!!! It is seriously my cushion crush! My now fiancé and I are definitely coming back to get our wedding bands from T.C. Jewelers.
