[[HIGHLIGHT]]T.J. Stone's is a gem in Old Town Alexandria -- great location, super friendly staff, and a menu full of hits.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We went on a Thursday for their $10 wings deal and they were incredible: smoked, baked, and fried to perfection. The barbecue was legit, and the Gouda mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. Don't miss the burger topped with their famous cheesy house-made tots -- so good! Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Business trip FOOD FUN! "LET'S TALK ABOUT IT," TJ Stone was, hands down, delicious!!! Now, the lemon drop that I had I asked for it to be made with Tito's...whew it was just that it didn't taste like your typical lemon drop, where you will you have a lemon taste...strong and good! Let's talk about this dish! Cedar Salmon this came with spinach but I swapped it out for green beans, the wild rice with it is not your typical wild rice it has celery carrots and peppers in it and then you had the salmon with a creamy sauce that was more of a sweet and tangy style sauce but it was a white sauce, YESSSSSS all of it together made this dish very well The service was great, we sat at the bar it was rather empty because I think it was closer to closing time when we arrived. Now, the ambiance of the restaurant was very different it seemed as if it was just a bar ......you didn't get a vibe of an actual restaurant cuisine.... so the food did not match the look of the establishment, the food did not taste like the look of the establishment..... so don't judge the book by its cover. I'm definitely going to give it another go with a different dish!

First time here and I love it! The service was top tier and this is bar side. The young lady helped me choose my seasonal cocktail quick between the hot apply cider or the caramel snickerdoodle martini. This martini is a 10/10! Best holiday cocktail I've had! Their tater tots are fire!!!! Thick, well seasoned and the sauce compliments it well! I cannot wait to return! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The neighborhood feel and sexy ambiance with an average price point is top tier for this area![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Way to go TJ Stones

Great Service during lunch. We were with a large group and the Shrimp Roll that I ordered was over the top excellent. The waitress we had for lunch was excellent. I'm pretty sure everyone else enjoyed their food on a beautiful afternoon in the DC area. We stopped later in the evening for some beers and it was cool just hanging outside and chilling. They had a decent beer selection, although they were out of a few. Service wasn't as great, but it wasn't bad either. Our waitress from lunch was still working and we wished we could have had her again. The inside seemed big but we were outside both visits, which was nice for an early April visit. It's also close to the Sheraton which was a plus for a nightcap. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but it's a good option if you're in the area.

Oh my god, the food was fantastic. The price point was pretty good too... we ordered two burgers and wings, it came up at $60 (w/o tip). Service was a tad slow and it wasn't a busy Saturday night - servers were very polite though. The bar is on the other side of the restaurant so it can get a little noisy (just FYI). We asked for BBQ sauce to go and we were charged, we were surprised (not upset tho). Smoked wings: 9/10 they were CRISPY and saucy, my favorite. 1/2 pound burger: I knew better, lol! It was TOO much for me, however - I did not regret ordering it. The gouda tater tot was delicious, partner assumed it was small ones and not a huge one at the top.

I don't know what has happened. We ordered grey goose martinis, dry with a lemon twist. The martini glasses weren't even half full.

Are registrations needed for this place on a Tuesday night? Coming the Tuesday before Thanksgiving so that may effect how busy they are as well.

I have never know Stone's to accept reservations, but from my experience it's pretty easy to get a table in the dining area at almost any time on Tuesdays. If you want to sit in the tap room, it can definitely get crowded, especially during happy…

Does T.J. Stone's have NFL Sunday Ticket? I'm trying to watch games that won't be shown locally.

Yes, they have NFL Sunday Ticket and the bar area regularly gets crowded right around kick-off of the 1pm games

Cool backstory huh? Anyhoo, met some friends for drinks here and it was fantastic. The People's Drug has been reimagined, with a general store, lunch counter style but a decidedly modern take on its offerings. Serving chef-driven gourmet sandwiches, locally-sourced bowls, and crafted cocktails, it's the perfect place for all manner of social indulgences. I spent $100 on drinks. I had a Negroni Incognito w/Italian Dill and a couple Old Fashioneds. We didn't order any food (although it looked good going by). Will definitely try some the next time. As for the service, it was a bit hit-or-miss. The young lady who took our orders was pleasant, but it took quite a while for drinks to come out. There were also several missing items from people's orders, which caused some frustration since those items had been ordered well in advance. Now, onto the food--the real star of the experience! Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals and had great things to say. I ordered a salmon taco, which I actually saved and ate the next day for lunch, and it was still delicious. The queso, however, wasn't a favorite among our group. On the other hand, the chips and salsa were a hit. The mocktails were excellent, and everyone seemed to enjoy their cocktails as well. Despite a few service hiccups, the food, drinks, and atmosphere made for a great experience. I would definitely visit again.
