This place was alright! Came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. It's deep into a shopping center, so it could be easy to miss unless you put it in the GPS. The store looks new, open, and clean, however the service is a bit slow and since it wasn't too busy, it was very quiet without music. Some of the workers there seemed a bit awkward and standoffish. I ordered a milk tea, banh mi dac biet, and vermicelli noodles. We were the only customers there at the time, but it still took a good amount of time to get our order (a good 15 minutes). The milk tea was good and flavorful. Not overly sweet. The banh mi was good too, and the bread was buttery and savory. It would've been even better if the bread was lightly toasted! This cute Vietnamese inspired bubble tea shop is a unique spin if you want to go off the beaten path. It's a little bit hard to find - it's near the Countryside area but you have to go behind a bunch of shops. Once you see the big Ledo sign you know you're in the right parking lot area. It is a pretty awesome place for Vietnamese snacks. The Vietnamese mart around my house closed down so it's good to know that I could get my favorite jerky or buns here. Had the Purple Purple, House Special Coffee, and Salted Plum Oolong here before. I love the flavor and sweetness of the Purple Purple and the House Special Coffee. The Salted Plum Oolong was not for me (it tastes exactly how it sounds) but I was very impressed that they were using real fruits. The waffles take awhile to make but worth it! If I keep it up, I'm going to be tealingual :) I was happy to find a new tea spot for tea time!!! Lately when trying a new spot, I'll ask what the most popular fruit tea is and go from there. The young lady who assisted me took it a step further and asked what kind of fruit I liked based on what they had. Luckily I liked them all so she suggested the t.zone fruit tea because it was a combination of them all. The tea was a good pick too!!! This place is amazing but it was really difficult to find. My gps took me to an actual Vietnamese restaurant that had the same building number 110. It's BEHIND the Vietnamese restaurant. Next to the Coldstone. This place is cute, clean... and the treats are HUGE and delicious! Presentation was gorgeous. They have Bing Su- the ice is so finely shaved- never seen it shaved like that before! So light and airy and lightly flavored. Loved the combination of crispy rice, Mochi balls and wafers. This is my favorite boba in the area... however... two times I've gone in between 10-11am and their boba machine was not on and wouldn't be ready for another 15+ min. First time was ok because it was closer to 10. But the place was open for an hour. If you open at 10, you should be ready to go. When you walk in, it definitely looks like a place you would see on Instagram with the decorations and paintings in the wall. They have a good amount of drinks in the menu, some pretty different compared to the other places. We ordered a cake cream Oreo milk tea and a marble in green (I think?). The drinks weren't bad, did not get much Oreo or matcha flavor in the drinks but the bubbles were pretty solid. The staff here were the best part. We drove to t zone since we were in the area and it was recommended by a friend! We got the guava lovers and a mango bingsoo. The guava lovers was prettty refreshing on this hot day, so I highly enjoyed it. The only thing that was upsetting was it took over 20 minutes for our bingsoo to come out. The place wasn't busy, and it just was a little frustrating waiting so long for it to come out. But overall, the bingsoo wasn't too bad. Their drinks are very hot or miss for me, but I ordered the Purple Purple on a whim since I love taro and brown sugar boba, but haven't tried them together before. I also got this drink delivered so I was super surprised that the taro layer didn't mix into the milk layer. The description doesn't specify what type of milk is used, but it definitely has to be a heavier, thicker milk to retain that ombré. Based on taste it might be coconut milk? The boba itself was nice and chewy plus had lots of brown sugar flavor. The drink had a nice taro flavor that wasn't too strong and doesn't seem like there was a lot of added sugars-- it was just right. This drink really brought me back to eating xi mi lu which is a Chinese dessert with coconut milk, mini tapioca pearls, and various toppings like taro, mango, grass jelly, red bean, etc I don't have pictures of previous drinks I've gotten from here, but my second favorite is definitely the Vietnamese coffee with cheese foam and coffee jellies (even though I don't like coffee a ton to begin with). The classic milk tea is just okay, but I'd rather go to Kung Fu Tea or Gongcha. The tea could have a stronger flavor in their milk teas. The fruit teas that come with cheese foam are really bad though. Someone else ordered it for me once and it came curdled with chunks of curdled milk in every sip which was very unappealing. The Vietnamese Rice Noodle topped with Mango Salad is also one of my favorite lunch options. The chicken meatballs are my favorite topping since the grilled pork is pretty dry and suck up the sauce way too fast making it super salty. Additional Very Bad Experience Today: Very bad customer service when it comes to their mistake. They told my wife that she consumed the part of the order even she did not. They forgot the waffle, red bean, mochi as part of the Purple Bingsoo. We don't actually care about the credit they will offer since it is only 10 dollars but accepting their fault, saying sorry or offer that I can give you a full credit next time or give you your money back is a credible and perfect way of offering good customer service. So sad that they have a very good reputation about the quality of their product but never had a bad experience with their customer service until now. First mistake they made for my order ever since and we are very dissappointed of their approach. I hope they do not do this to their future or next customers who will have a bad experience. I think they changed management in late 2021, and it wasn't for the better. I used to go here regularly, but I stopped a while back. The drinks aren't as good - many are much too sweet, and the quality of the boba itself got worse (if its available...). The other noticeable change was a less friendly staff. And after an recent issue, it also became apparent that there is regularly no manager on site to support the (often teenaged) staff on site - who are following the store policies and doing what they can to keep things running. Purple Purple is essentially Taro Milk Tea (not sure if black or green tea, the drink is light purple so I'm assuming green tea or just milk-based), paired with brown sugar boba. Not a lot of places have good brown sugar boba, but this place NAILS it. It's soft and gooey with a delectably sweet taste. It's easy to overcook the boba, with brown sugar burning easily, but this place knows what they're doing. Lemon Balance comes with a few lemon slices and complimentary aloe vera. It's both sweet & sour, with the lemons enhancing the sour, the aloe enhancing the sweet, thus perfectly "balanced". ;) I ordered their macarons when I previously visited. Pistachio macaron is the BEST flavor, hands down. Support local businesses! They really do deserve it. They even offer supplies to make your own boba at home! read more

It's refreshing to see more options for Vietnamese dessert and food in Sterling, VA. They sell Asian snacks that can also be found at the Asian grocery stores. The prices here are higher than if you were to buy them at Lotte or H-Mart, which makes sense since they're probably reselling them. I tried their combination banh mi and rice noodle dish. They weren't bad, but honestly, I've had better Vietnamese food. The banh mi is great value since you get a long French baguette with meats for $6. Their drinks and house made snacks were the stars for me. I'm a fan of their brewed cheese teas. The thick and creamy layer of their house cream cheese really add nice touches to the tea. Their milk teas are also good and I like that we can pick our level of sweetness. I bought their taro moon cake and spicy rice paper snack which they make and both are really worth $5 each. I've not seen those rice paper snacks in any Vietnamese store before. Apparently, it goes well with mango and hard boiled eggs? I'll try that when I'm feeling more adventurous. Oooh I'm sad to say this place is not meant for me because their drinks look so good! I ordered the Alishan cheese tea and also the Monster Mango. The cheese tea didn't taste like the usual cheese tea it's supposed to be. It was like foamy milk on top of a bland cup of tea...not good at all and very little flavor. I'm so glad to see the Sterling area step up their boba/dessert game! The inside is super super cute and instagram worthy chill vibes. The menu isn't too big and overwhelming, it's short and sweet! Which makes it much much easier to narrow down what you want as they specialize in their craft. It's taro, non dairy milk and brown sugar boba on the bottom and let me tell you.... it's DELISH! They have Jenga, Connect 4, seating area and great music. The family that I believe are the owners are nice and friendly. They have a good menu for honey bread, teas, macaroons, and other deserts. Onto the Banh Mi. I am spoiled because I grew up in Falls Church and typically go back to Falls Church for all things Vietnamese. When I visited with my wife a few weeks ago, we did not get anything because we were set on going to Cold Stone Creamy next door . Side note: not the easiest place to find or drive by if you do not know where it is. They have a good selection of Banh mi and have the typical buy 5, get one. Pricing is higher than what you find in Falls Church, but they do not skimp on the meat.
