I stopped by here on a whim the other day. I am always intrigued with different types of food. Granted, it is a cabbie joint, so you have to know what you are getting into. It was kind of interesting. The food was just so-so, but the service was really bad. Did I mention parking was horrendous? I think the city has to do something about this cabbie joints b/c they really make it hard to park in the area. Also, I found something very odd...it seemed like a lot of the men in there were going down into the basement. I am not sure what is going on down there, but I definitely did not want to find out. I am guessing that it is an actual functioning mosque in the basement. Not sure how legal that is, I am guessing you have to have proper zoning to be a place of worship? Bottom line, you can definitely find better quality pakistani food along with much better service somewhere else. read more

I cannot believe I even spent $20 at this "restaurant". I walked in having super high expectations after seeing the Yelp reviews here. I ordered the Frontier Chicken and it was completely bland.. I actually had to throw it away. The naan was very hard and it was like eating with a cracker. The service did not help either. Everyone was very unhelpful and just plain rude. I met the manager as well and he had a very bad attitude and didn't seem to care about his customers. I don't think I could ever recommend Tabaq to any of my friends/family. read more

I am not sure if I have ever been to a place worse than this. The food is dry and cold. The service is horrendous. The first time I went in, I thought that perhaps they were just having a bad day. I also must have gone during cabbie shift or something as there were close to 30 or 40 cab drivers hanging out. Some went downstairs, so not sure what is going on there. This place is open 24 hrs. Whenever I starve to eat mutton (goat/lamb) first place comes to mind is Tabaq. They have different style of lamb curry everyday. The pricing is good and one plate is enough for one person they serve each curry with tandoori which is enough for one person. read more

The noodles were cooked well and the sauce and gravy from the beef was very flavorful. Everyone enjoyed that. The pani puri the kids loved to the point that we had to ask for more puris. The pani (spiced water to dip the puris in) was spiced and balanced well and the chickpeas and potatoes were sprinkled with a spice blend that gave them a depth of flavor then just plain boiled vegetables with salt. The hunter beef sandwich was good although a bit dry. The flavor with the toasted bread and addition of veggies and mayo complimented the beef well. The roll was spicy for most and was decent but not spectacular. The paapri chaat was refreshing and delicious. The star of the evening was the gola gunda (shaved ice with syrups and condensed milk drizzled on top). THe kids loved it and it came in a bowl with plenty of syrup and condensed mile. It was tasty and refreshing. We liked it so much that we stopped by twice more on our trip just for the gola gunda. I would definitely be going back, if for nothing else than the gola gunda.

I ordered the chicken chili roll and Bihari mayo roll. The restaurant wasn't too clean and seating area was small, they do have a small patio with additional seating. The person who took my order was nice and straightforward with my order, a little hard to understand though with a language barrier, but expected for the area/location on Devon Ave.
