Tabla is tucked away in a small strip of stores and when we walked in I first noticed the bright decorations. My first impression was good and loved the decor. It's inviting and appeared very clean. The aromas were great and made me even a little bit more hungry. You order at the counter and then they bring the food out to your table. Now their menu is large and for a guy like me that doesn't eat Indian food much, it took me some extra time to digest it. So many choices. Luckily my wife was along and has more experience. The employees were so friendly and helpful. I'm not a big hot/spicy fan so they comforted me and said all the food could be made more in a mild flavor. We chose the garlic Naan bread and tomato Shorba for appetizers. The soup was extremely hot so we had to let it cool but the first taste was spectacular! I loved it. Not too spicy and had a little creamy texture that was very tasty. The Naan bread was a HUGE plate and we ended up taking 1/2 of it home. It was hot, fresh and really good flavors! Some of the best I've experienced. For our entrees I had the Indo Chinese Hakka with chicken and it was AMAZING! I loved every bite. The noodles are thin and the spices were perfect. They give very healthy portions here too. My wife had the Tikka Masala and she loved hers. The rice was cooked perfectly and the sauce/chicken was so good. I took several bites. Once again a large portion and she took 1/2 home. I wanted to try the desserts but I just couldn't since I was so full. Ordered the chicken biryani. Theis usually come with boneless chicken pieces. Today it contained bone in chicken pieces with several sharp bone fragments scattered throughout. They don't advertise it to be boneless, yet that is hiw it has been served every previous order. It literally seems like the chicken was processed with a hammer. Dangerous choking hazard. Fortunately, we were given the option to order off the menu. We don't eat enough to benefit a buffet. We started by sharing an order of Garlic Naan. My sponsor ordered Shrimp Biryani. My mouth just had a party. We ordered the Biryani, enough for both my wife and I, with garlic naan. 3 spice level was plenty. A fusion of Dehli saffron with Hyderabad spice and the tingles of happiness matched what my tongue was feeling. Tabla has been open for a couple of months. Give it a try. Great staff. This is a nice neighborhood Indian bistro. The staff is conservatively cordial. The food has a north Indian influence, but it's not limited to that. And if you have never tried Indian food before I am sure they would accommodate your taste and tell you all about it I didn't get to try much of the menu but the main takeaway for me is that the food is very flavorful and I found the spice level to be just right. There is a small bar in the back where you can have a drink and hang for whatever reason. It did not appear that they have a full bar just yet. Fast delicious Indian food?! Yes please! The chicken mahkani is perfect. Creamy, flavorful, a tiny bit tangy. I got the mild (I don't like spicy) and it's as good as the best chicken mahkanis I've had elsewhere. Garlic naan was perfect. We got the samosa chaat and it's delicious although a bit spicy for my liking. And my husband got the chicken biryani and the flavors were so dynamic- so much depth. So much color. The value I get vs what I pay for feels like being scammed. Over $16 for a tiny amount of protein + fillers (rice or the non-meat stuffs in their gravy) to make it look like a big portion + a PLASTIC bowl even when you dine in. The food is decent however recently ordered tandoori chicken burger but my food came with a chicken patty you can get at Costco. I ordered grilled/ tandoori didn't ask for fried chicken patty when asked was told that they ran out of tandoori chicken so replaced with patty instead. Bad service and terrible food. Ordered aloo tikki chaat, chili shrimp, paneer tikka masala, madras chicken curry with specific instructions to cancel rice because we ordered bread - none were followed. No token to serve, waited 20 mins for chaat which tasted very poor ( literally could smell reused oil), both chicken/ paneer were rubbery and both the curries didn't have adequate salt - waited another 30 mins for really disappointing dishes. I regretted tipping up front. Ambiance was ok but the service and quality of food were not worth it. They tried to apologize for the bad service by giving dessert but even the gajar halwa and kalakand were nothing to speak about. What to improve- First organize the service better with a number / smart beeper and be more receptive to what is being requested. You can't take 45 mins to fulfill an order especially when the place is not even fully occupied. Calling out order items or customer names in a place with loud music is a terrible idea. When serving the food at least ensure that enough plates are provided. Either provide me the food right away in a tray or serve it with enough plates if I'm dining in. I'm sure you can afford to have a decent bread basket and not serve bread on paper plates. I'm not sure why you have 3 seater arrangements that's not something that's common. read more

Tabla Fort Worth was good! We ordered tandoori chicken and shrimp was good as well as the dosa, garlic naan and rice. Main dish was the tabla chicken and the Hakka noodles that was overly spicy all we tasted is strong flavor of black pepper, my family eats spicy food but this was overly seasoned. Since they are new I would give it a try next time hopefully they have improve their dishes. Overall service, quantity , cleanliness and quality is good and for a fast food kind of restaurant dishes are very expensive! Everything was served in a paper plate and plastic spoons, no server everything is order at the counter I think is the best but not for the price! Yesterday was our first visit to Tabla which we were very excited to visit, based on the reviews we'd read online. We entered the restaurant at 11:50 AM and the place was empty. We walked to the menu posted area in the back and there were only two employees present. The young woman smiled at us but barely spoke English. We had to figure out by ourselves that we were to sit anywhere we wanted to and were to place our order at that back counter. When I placed our order, the young woman could barely answer my questions about the menu (about the non-vegan thali lunch special). I ordered our meals and the cashier didn't say a word about beverages. Why I tipped 15% on the bill escapes me now (I wouldn't do it again). We then went and sat and it took about twenty minutes for the food to be brought to our table. The older gentleman handed us one pressed paper/cardboard divided tray plate at a time - going back to the kitchen to get the second plate after bringing just the one plate the first time. He didn't bring us any silverware but pointed over to the far wall where there was a small assortment of cheap plastic utensils and a water dispenser with tiny plastic cups, and told us to get the items there. He never greeted us or said anything like "enjoy your meals." The food was warm but not hot in temperature. Most of it tasted very good but was honestly served in small portions. The raita yoghurt condiment took up a full 1/4 of the plate. The rice was dry and tasted day-old. Each combo thali plate was about $16.00 each - definitely not worth it given the ambiance, weird unfriendly service and fast-food vibe. We won't be dining here again. read more
