Very quaint restaurant with a nice comfortable atmosphere. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. My wife and I shared the beef carpaccio which was very good and seasoned nicely where the beef still shined. I got the scallops and beef cheek surf and turf and my wife got the cioppino (it isn't traditional, more curry and coconut than italian). After tasting both dishes, my wife liked mine a lot more so "we" decided to switch. We finished our meal with the toffee cake. All of which was very good and well prepared and thought out. Went to Table 28 for my the birthday of the wife. She took her friend with us and we decided to take the advice of a friend and head to this restaurant. I am very pleased we did. I had the ribeye, the wife had scallops and her friend had some chicken dish. My ribeye was cooked perfectly (very rare) was well marbled and had a great flavor. The scallops were seared perfectly and just done well enough to be translucent. I tried a bite and they were fresh and firm. They were actually perfect. The small disappointing moment was at dessert. We each had something different and they were far from remarkable, as a matter of fact, they were not very good at all. That didn't overshadow the perfectly prepared main dishes and the well-prepared sides. The bone marrow app was very good and perfectly prepared and presented. The brussel sprouts were well prepared and mildly salted. The drinks were exceptional so I was told since I was the DD I had soda. Was a very good experience overall, the waiter was stellar and attentive I would recommend Table 28 for any special event, as a bill $250 for three is a bit much for an everyday dining out experience. read more

Not bad, but definitely misses the mark unfortunately. I saw several comments about this being the "best restaurant in town". If that is the case, I really do feel sorry for Little Rock's food scene. The restaurant itself is tucked inside of a Hilton property. It is quite nicely decorated. The simplistic design lends a level of quality. The service itself was very good. I tried a wedge salad as a starter. As for presentation, it seemed rather jumbled. As if things were haphazardly thrown onto the plate. The lettuce was crisp and nice, as was the bacon. However, the smoked thousand island has a sour taste and is very pungent. Almost as if it were ketchup mixed with sour cream. The salad I would give 2.5 out of 5 stars. The table shared the quail lollies and the curry chicken meatballs. The quail lollies were not bad with the blue cheese crumbles, but it tastes more like falafel. I honestly did not taste quail at all. This received 2 out of 5 stars. The chicken meatballs tasted like the little frozen meatballs you get in the bag at the grocery freezer. They are tossed in a thick BBQ-curry sauce. These were the worst of the meal and weren't finished. 1 out of 5 stars. As my entree, I had the Pekin duck breast with vanilla mashed sweet potato and raisin caraway cabbage. This was a dish that I feel itself was confused. The flavors do not go well together. The duck breast itself is nice, but it does not go with the overly sweetened mashed sweet potatoes or the cabbage. The cabbage would have been better with a pork dish and clashed with the sweet, tender duck breast. I gave this dish 2 out of 5 stars. Overall, I have to be honest with this review and wish that I could have given more stars. I found the food to be lacking in both quality and value and that is why I gave a 2 star rating. I would try it again in hopes that I had a bad batch, but not for the higher price. read more

Terrell was an amazing server. Any time I am in Little Rock I make it a point to stop at Table 28. Their service while top notch is only overshadowed by their food. Chef Scott does an amazing job with keeping their menu relevant and fresh. A wine list that can meet the palate of anyone and a happy hour that will satisfy all. You simply cannot go wrong with a visit to this locations. If you are having a hard time deciding don't walk.....run to eat here. I have tried almost everything on the menu and absolutely nothing has disappointed. The only disappointment is I won't be back in Little Rock for a couple months to be able to enjoy again. Sticky toffee cake wins!!!! This was a spur of the moment stop because of the James Beard nod they received and was not a disappointment. Nathan took excellent care of me. I had their roasted mushrooms to start, which were lovely, and followed that with their interpretation of a wedge salad. The pickled red onion and butter lettuce was a nice twist on the classic favorite. For the entree I had the smoked pork chop with corn salsa and green onion sauce were savory and delicious. The corn added a fresh and yummy crispy component to brighten the heaviness of the pork and loaded potato salad. Finished with their dessert specialty, sticky toffee cake-the chef's old family recipe. This was HEAVEN. I felt my eyes roll back in my head. Their wine list left a lot to be desired if you are looking for a glass of wine instead of a bottle. But that was the only thing I can discount them for. A must try!! read more

What a lovely pre-Valentine's dining experience we had tonight at Table 28. We are visiting from Dallas and chose this restaurant because of the delicious menu choices and high ratings and we can completely agree. From the moment we sat down, our server, Kristen, made sure we were completely taken care of and we felt like royalty. We had the delicious Wedge and the Artichoke appetizer which was very rich and delicious. We shared the scrumptious filet and devoured every piece. Kristen brought us the famous Toffee dessert that topped off an evening we won't soon forget. She was personable and professional and made the evening perfect. As a travel agent, I highly recommend this high quality restaurant located in the Burgundy Hotel. (On a side note, Chanel at the front desk was very friendly and personable). Stayed at the hotel it's very nice, I got a free appetizer card cause I had some room issues. They brought me a free app card for Table 28. I was kinda excited the food did look good. I went down there to eat there was no bar seats only free seating behind bar which is fine. I went to bar to order and the bartender looked at my card and talked to me as if I was trying to scam them. The demeanor was very off putting I decided to not stay and eat. There was a lady who at the same table who didn't get service for an extended time. The staff didn't seem inviting or like they wanted you there. My app was not good, octopus was tiny about 2 bites, it was soggy and not even warm, yes it was free from the hotel but after my experience there, and the food I wouldn't come back. read more

I normally have better quality cuts for the price. Most importantly, we cannot be more disappointed by the the service. We made a reservation: they didn't have it. They seated us outside of the main restaurant in a large open room at a tiny two top right next to the slats that separated us from the hotel hallway. A waiter finally arrived and took our drink order. Ten minutes later a bartender showed up to ask if my husband wanted whiskey or cognac in his Sazerac. He disappeared. My husband and I decided to stop in Little Rock on our way to Dallas. When we arrived at our hotel we asked the concierge for a dinner recommendation, but most of the places on the list were closed because it was Monday. So I started Yelping places. We were between 3 restaurants and decided to go with Table 28 because they had a 1/2 star more than the other two places... and we are so glad we did!! The restaurant is inside of a beautiful boutique Hyatt hotel and it is absolutely stunning. The service was impeccable! Even though we couldn't see Terrell's face (due to his mask), he was so friendly and recommended amazing menu items. We wanted everything on the menu, but settled on the chilled cucumber soup, wedge salad, steak frites, charred octopus, and the brussel sprout...omg the brussel sprouts!! Those are the best brussel sprouts I have ever had!!!!!! Even though we were stuffed we did get the sticky toffee cake because it looked amazing from pictures people had posted. Perfect way to end a beautiful meal. To top this amazing meal off, the chef came out and said hi to everyone. It was so nice to speak with him and be able to compliment his amazing menu. One of my Go-To's while in AR. While this is an upscale establishment, they maintain the down-to-earth "vibe" which I appreciate greatly when traveling alone. I came with a large party on a Tuesday night. We received friendly, attentive yet unobtrusive service. I ordered from the prix fixe menu. Starting with the butter lettuce wedge, the salad arrived dressed wth two dressings, fried onions and tomatoes. It was very flavorful, and a tad heavy on the dressings and other topping. Next up was the calamari schnitzel with whipped potatoes and greens. I was a bit disappointed with this dish, particularly with rubbery-tasting instant mashed potatoes accompanying. That's right. Instant. Mashed. Potatoes. The gooey toffee cake was a pleasant ending to the meal, but not particularly inspired. This is breakfast review only. The food sucks. The service is awful. Nothing good about it. Waitress has one table and was never around. Refused to write the order down so I ordered scrambled eggs, toast and fruit. She brings over easy eggs, bacon, and potatoes and runs away. I send it back and she has my order in 20 sec. Had been sitting under a heat lamp and the fruit was actually hot. Toast is made from wonder bread. Eggs are old and tasteless. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place for breakfast. I hadn't been to Table 28 in a quite a while but was reminded tonight why it is one of the best restaurants in all Little Rock. My wife and I had the artichoke/heart of palm/feta dip as a starter, the beef tenderloin and duck breast for entrees, and then shared the s'mores bar for dessert. Everything was simply fantastic, and the beef tenderloin was especially phenomenal. Even the sides and cocktails were remarkable. Such a great meal with great service. Different is good...very good! Given that Table 28 is filling the space of other restaurants with great reputations, I was expecting a lot from this restaurant. Of course, this type of expectation isn't logical, or necessarily fair, but this location has been magic for past entities. So, I was more than excited to try Table 28. Before diving into details, let me confirm that Table 28 far surpassed my heightened expectations. In short, I think this was one of the very best dining experiences I've had in Little Rock, in quite a few years. So, so many Little Rock restaurants start with a lot of hype and leave so many patrons absolutely deflated (Kemuri and Cashe are two that seem to always get rave reviews, yet always seem to leave me disappointed. Nonetheless, I continue to give both "another chance"). Table 28 has what so many of these other restaurants lack...and so much more. I am rarely without words, but I am finding it difficult to adequately articulate just how FINE this dining experience was, for me and a few friends. First, the restaurant is just incredibly comfortable. The minute I walked into the restaurant, it felt welcoming. It just has an ambiance that is warm, relaxed, classy but not intimidating. Second, service is also very professional, thorough, but not pushy. I am ashamed to say that I forgot our servers name, but his lever of service was so impeccably perfect (not at all overbearing) that I will go back to T28, just to get his name! The tableside service of our waiter was precise and much appreciated. It wasn't over done or pretentious, like placing the patron's napkin in the lap...that is a bit much. But, while I handled my own napkin, the service was from the proper side, napkin used while serving wine (to prevent splashing), service never interrupted conversation and conversations with our server were pleasant and informative. The staff (server, Et. al) knew the menu well, knew the food and drink of the restaurant, very well. No one placated our table with mindless platitudes or comments that suggested any unfamiliarity with any item on the menu. Rather, responses were very specific and exhibited a staff that is well trained and versed to represent the menu they serve.And, given how intriguing Table 28's menu is, we had many challenging questions about the fare...along with drink pairings. In short, our experience was first and foremost comfortable. Second, it was exceptionally stimulating and satiated every one of our weighted expectations. Table 28 could very well be THE very best restaurant in this restaurant rich community. I can not wait to return for my next meal! BRAVISSIMO!!! read more

One of my few 5-star reviews, but Table 28 earned it. I was passing through town and asked some old college classmates to meet me here. I started at the bar while waiting for people to arrive. The bartender, Alex, was excellent; Just the right amount of attention without being overbearing. He takes his cocktails seriously and it shows. I had a Booker's Manhattan and I knew it would be good when he accurately measured ingredients and then stirred (and stirred and stirred). When my guests arrived we moved to the table where we got very good service. Our waiter walked us through the new fall menu, made sure we were good on drinks, then left us to discuss the choices. When we were ready to order, he appeared immediately. I started with the ribeye carpaccio, served with thinly sliced manchego, capers, a spritz of lemon, and crostini. Such a simple dish, but executed perfectly. S started with the tuna poké, which was served in a cocktail glass and had some of the biggest pieces of tuna I've ever seen in a poké. This was served with taro chips and the flavor was sublime. I don't know if the chef used mirin, but it tasted like he did. M had the sweet potato soup, served with cinnamon creme fraiche, to start. It must have been good because the bowl was empty very quickly. Between courses, I ordered a bottle of Belle Glos Pinot Noir. For dinner, I had the surf and turf, which in this interpretation consisted of perfectly cooked scallops served over a mound of greens and pork belly and surrounded by the biggest butter beans I've ever seen. Here's an example of where the chef stands out. The beans, tasted separately, were phenomenal. When combined with the scallops, greens, and pork belly, both the texture and flavor of the beans added to the overall enjoyment. Definitely not a random afterthought. S had the shrimp scampi served with spaghetti squash. M had the calamari schnitzel, and I'm still trying to figure out how they pounded out and shaped the calamari to look like a regular flat schnitzel. Both dishes looked great and got rave reviews, but I didn't try either one. I was too full for dessert, but both M and S asked for scoops of gelato that were mentioned as components of other desserts. Our waiter had no problem accommodating them. One of the best meals I've had in a long time, and clearly the best in Little Rock. read more

Read through reviews and decided to go to Table 28. We started off with the bone marrow which was great. We both had the New York steak that was cooked to medium rare. It was marinated well enough to where we didn't need any sauce. Mine was a little more on the well side than the rare side though. My only complaints were the amount of time it took for someone to actually greet us was a little long and also our table was in a dark corner. First time dining here, and it lived up to its expectations. Here's the break down: -GREAT environment and service, top notch. -Happy hour specials: such a bargain! So much cheaper than regular menu prices. -Fried brussels sprouts: TO DIE FOR. I hate brussels sprouts, first off. These were crisp and bacon-y and delectable. ($3 during happy hour!!!) -Burger: Came with two patties, ordered medium rare. It was juicy and delicious. Only $8 during happy hour, but no fries come with it. -Fries: The best. They are like McDonald's fries but crispier, fresher, and not greasy. The ranch (called sheep's milk ranch) is the best ranch ever. And the homemade ketchup is good. -Bone marrow: This is my favorite food on the planet, so of course it was perfectly delicious. However, it was such a tiny amount for $12 (4 bites, really). Even though there are no other places to get bone marrow around here, this is the most expensive marrow I have ever had. It also came with escargot on the top, which was just okay- I'd rather them leave it off so I just enjoy the marrow. -Spinach, shitake, and sweet breads salad: WOW! I have never had sweet breads before and they were delicious. So tender, great flavor. The whole salad was a hit. -Pork belly sliders- ($8 during happy hour) Delicious! The bread was buttery and soft, the pork melted in your mouth. Very rich, but they are little, so they were perfect. -Toffee pudding: Very good! Best dessert there. Mine came with bourbon maple gelato. I was disappointed, though, that I had seen pics of pepita brittle with it, and I didn't get any. =( *Hilarious story: While I got the toffee pudding for dessert, my friends got a lemon pudding cake and a chocolate chip bread pudding. Both of these came with raspberry sauce over the top. Both of my friends about died when they ate their first bites saying it was soo spicy! Ended up that the "raspberry sauce" was actually hot sauce, which was an accident, of course! Mumsy and I ate here three times in our 5 day stay in Little Rock. The first night, we blew in around 8:45 pm having just spent a day traveling. Ah...my Ketel One martini was a nice welcome, along with the rabbit. Mumsy had scallops, which looked fantastic (she liked it). The rabbit was falling off the bone yummy...I'm salivating just thinking about it... The second time we came, I had the quail lollipops which were delicious albeit a tad salty (I like salt, so no problems there), and the butternut squash ravioli, which was a little too heavy on the burned butter front, but still delicious. My dining companions had the turtle soup (which was more like a sauce and not the consomme type soup), and the calamari appetizer, which was awesome. We shared the S'mores and Sticky Toffee Pudding which were decadent and delicious. The last night we wanted something light so I ordered the grits and the Brussel sprouts (both sides) and Mumsy ordered the arugula salad, which were all amazing... Sigh...I would have tried the Fred Flintstone steak for two if I'd had any takers, the duck and the venison if I had stayed longer, but our time was (mercifully) up and it was time to go home. They have a long list of appetizers and all the ones we ordered were great - especially the calamari and shrimp & grits. The salads were also great. I had the wedge salad and loved it. Everyone in our group liked their entrées, but nobody loved them. The same was true of dessert, though a few selections others had raved about were not available when we went. My husband and I came for our anniversary and was wonderful. We started out with the lollipops and they are scrumptious. My hubby is still talking about them lol. I got the sweet tea fried chicken and it was so good. My husband got a seafood dish and he really enjoyed it. I was impressed first of all how many shrimp he had but also how big and beautiful they were. For desert my hubs got the snores bar and I got the cheesecake. Both of them were delicious you can't go wrong. Everything was wonderful I highly recommend it.
