I've been into T.A.C. Ceramic Tile Co. a couple of times now to talk to them about tile samples for my kitchen backsplash and to get ideas. They have this cool showroom - they encourage you to schedule an appointment, but it's not mandatory. I walked in the first day and ended up spending some time with Wendy - she discussed what I was looking for and showed me some tiles I might like, as well as Listello. I'm currently waiting on some tile samples that she has ordered for me to bring home and compare to the colors in my kitchen. Definitely worth checking out if you have a bathroom or kitchen tile project in your future! I'm really hoping our design center appointment turns out much better than the process to schedule the appointment. We were told by NV Homes we would be contacted next day. We were contacted 2 days later, and because we missed their call, we spent the following 2 days following up. Not sure why TAC didn't try to call us back. We had a snow day in the area and apparently that means everyone gets a day off, no one is even helping to schedule appointments? Makes no sense and is not a great preface of what's to come. The assistant (Leslie) who helped us schedule the appointment was unprofessional in her responses and attitude and made it seem like TAC is very silo'd. I'm honestly shocked NV is affiliated with such a company; wish we had another choice to work with. read more

They did an acceptable job with the bathroom tile, but the carpet installation was horrible. They did not stretch it enough, so after about a year, every single room had developed "ripples" (see photos). Not to mention most of their products are overpriced. If you have to go through them because you're buying a Ryan or NV Home, go with whatever the cheapest option is because I guarantee you'll need to rip it out to fix or replace within a year. read more

If I could give them ZERO stars I would!! Shitty customer service, POOR work ethic. Unfortunately, we were stuck with this piss poor company due to relationship with my home builder. They don't show up at all on one of the scheduled dates they're supposed to fix several issues... then you finally send one person another day whom states they are unequipped to do any of the work. Why don't you hire quality people? Now, I'm ticked and you reschedule and still don't show up during the window.. now saying they will be 40 min late after I HAD TO CHASE YOU FOR STATUS!!! This company is horrible. You have been warned. The driver of the work van intentionally delays traffic by driving to slowly in the left lane and not allowing people to pass. Anyone who behaves like this is not someone you want doing work for you. read more

Worst service ever. I would not buy a home from Ryan or NV for the single fact that the contractor that they work with to basically do everything inside your home is 100% worthless. They had us come in we made all of our selections and then a day later called and said oh sorry, we made cabinet offers that are not offered to you and also the entire price of your selections went up by $3,300 because the sales person used the wrong floorpan to quote us. Then we made Ryan homes aware of the issue and it took them 4 weeks to get in contact with the subcontractor and then still threw the issue at us and said can you explain it back to TAC on what happened. Bottom line is they only have a small variety of choices and a HUGE lack of customer service. To say the least we signed to have our house build back in March and still nothing has been signed all due to TAC. read more

Terrible carpeting in my Ryan home. Home Depot and Lowes contractors do a 100 times better job than this company.

Never buy hardwood flooring or bath tile flooring from this company. They told me I was getting hardwood flooring when I ordered flooring for an entire first floor of a 5000sqft new Ryan home. Well the so called hardwood I got only lasted a few months before it started to splinter and peel in many places. Also apparently this particular flooring is not meant to be installed in kitchens or hallways as even a drop of water will ruin it. I paid a lot of money for sub grade flooring that is some kind of laminate and not real hardwood as I was told it was. The tile they installed in my bathroom floors is only meant for walls not floors and is extremely slippery and dangerous when wet. They refuse to change the flooring to real hardwood even though they lied and sold me what is a poor quality laminate floor. They are scammers!! Very upset!! read more

Our house was built in 2002. The tileing was all done by TAC tile. Three tiles in the shower came off and I decided to fix them myself. We went to TAC tile. Even though we did not have an appointment, they let us is. They couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, We got replacement tiles and grout from them. If we ever have a reason to retile, we will morst certainly use them. read more

Beware of this company! They will cheat you out of the product you paid for, lie about it and their installation is subpar at best! We have a Pulte home and every type of flooring we have had issues or poorly installed! We have carpet, wood, vinyl and tile all installed by TAC. They had to replace our entire basement carpet and padding on October 28th, they never told us but our carpet was discontinued and they showed up with much lower grade/ lower quality carpet. I noticed this and refused it. They laid our old carpet back down, basically threw it in and left it for 6 weeks until this past Friday they came with a new carpet and didn't bring the new padding. After going round and round and phone calls to their company, they decided to install padding they had in their van for the next job. I was concerned and asked if it was the same padding as our upgraded pad, they said yes. Which was a blatant lie! We paid $2000 for upgraded padding and they installed lower grade padding. I noticed the color differences between the padding and called TAC to ask, they said it didn't matter. I also noticed our previous padding was duck taped on the seams, which is important when you have a padding with the blue moisture barrier on top, they came within paper masking tape and i specifically asked the installers and called TAC about this concern, noting it didn't make sense to use a paper tape when installing a pad with a water barrier. They said it didn't matter what tape they used. I contacted the manufacturer the padding and they confirmed it was against their specifications and specifically said paper tape is never to be used on any padding type because, it not only, isn't water resistant but on either upgraded padding or normal padding without the barrier, the paper masking tape dries out over time and crinkles like potato chips when you walk on it, it tears and makes sound, breaks down and doesn't hold up like duct tape does. They have refused to replace the tape with duct tape and only offered us hush money to accept their subpar work. The builder has stood behind their subpar practices even as I pointed it out many times. They get away with doing these types of things to unsuspecting homeowners, because most dont now or pay attention. When we had vinyl replaced they installed it improperly and used an adhesive that the manufacturer does not approve, did not wait for the adhesive to get "tacky" before putting the vinyl down and that is why we get bubbles and creases under the vinyl. The wood floor installers didn't ensure the subfloor was screwed in properly and now our wood floors have issues that require them to be ripped up in areas and reinstalled. The list of complaints and shortcomings by this company is so long! They allow their installing sub contractors to use cheap and low quality products that are not approved by manufacturers of the products they sell and the subs install. Yet, we are told to use specific cleaners and take care of these products in specific ways or else it will void warranties but they don't maintain the same level of standards when installing any of it! Cheap, cheap, cheap and dishonest! I contacted TAC reps and was lied to about the masking tape concern, about the padding differences and I had to do my own research to figure it out and send that information over to get them to even acknowledge that they were misleading at best! Buyer beware! Plenty of carpeted areas have bulging ridges and lines where it's too loose and obviously didn't get stretched at install. If you want to overpay and get poor quality workmanship then this is your company! Most of just get stuck with them by way of our home builders, as they do not work with the public directly (I see why!) They're just the lowest bidders for builders, so I guess we get that type of low quality budget install too. This place is the worst. Ryan homes uses them for all new home builds and they are terrible. We went to our consultation to pick out our floor for the entire house. The consultant was terrible, rushed us and then got Frustrated with us because we kept asking for totals after each selection. We had a budget and as a consumer it's my right to ask a total to ensure I stay within budget. The time came for us to get our selections installed. The flooring we picked out didn't come close to what they installed. It was not even on the same color scale. The tiles in our bathrooms were so cheap and put in uneven. Carpet: I've been in my home a month and have had TAC out twice to repair the carpet, guess what? It's still not installed correctly. TAC is literally the worst flooring company I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Don't be fooled by the fancy showroom and pretty displays. If you can get a different company to put your stuff in do it. read more

I got an estimate from TAC for ceramic tile (tile only, no labor). They quoted me over $1,100 for 100 square feet of ceramic tile, which comes out to about $11 per square foot. I looked online and I would have been able to get the same exact brand and model tile for $159 ($1.59 per square foot). They wouldn't budge on the price. Make sure you compare prices elsewhere, otherwise you might get ripped off. read more

I just worked with Jennifer to help me with a bathroom and kitchen project. Let me tell you her decorating sense is amazing. I was in and out at least 6 times over the last few weeks and finally settled on a tile selection that will make my bathroom Houzz worthy. She was always friendly and patient despite my numerous changes in mind and on occasion my noisy kids. Despite the experience of the other reviewer I overhead a couple say to Jennifer directly that the reason they kept coming back to TAC over the other showrooms was because she was so good to work with. I'd have to agree. The reason I didn't give TAC a 5 star rating is that they seem to be more focused on the new home builders versus retail clients. They only have 1 person working retail and so when there is more than 1 customer in the showroom they don't have the staff to service the clients adequately. If they hired a few more folks like Jennifer I'm sure they'd making a killing in retail sales. read more

Our tile turned out beautiful in both our basement and kitchen floors. The selection available was limited compared to shopping with Tile Shop. We looked at various options online but at the end of the day we felt more comfortable working with TAC because of what we heard from a friend whom worked with them. I would definitely work with them on any future projects we have in remodeling. read more

I arrived on Saturday morning, Jamie F met us right away and took us into the showroom. She was incredible to work with. We could tell that she is a professional designer. We gave her the basic look and feel of what we liked and she put together all kinds of different color, texture and materials packages that were spectacular. We recently bought a Pulte home and are very excited to move in based on how we were able to configure everything the way we wanted to. A good experience from the estimate to the installation. We had a challenging project because of the condition of our floor so we needed someone with experience. They came through with flying colors. My first impression of this tile company was not in their showroom, but rather the lovely abyss that is 495 North. I am not sure what T.A.C stands for, but it should stand for To Act Carelessly (especially while driving). I was driving to Tysons Corner in the busy traffic, and there was a large space big enough for my car to fit into. However, the driver of the T.A.C. vehicle sped up and cut the space between us. He then refused to allow me to merge in, which I did have the right away. Tiling is a very precise job, and if you're not careful when driving I can't expect you to be careful when doing your "job." My advice, find ANYONE else to lay tile. read more

We are in the beginning stages of a kitchen and bath remodel. We went by TAC Tile without an appointment just wanting to browse the showroom. I read in the other review on Yelp that they worked from appointments but they weren't mandatory. That seems to be incorrect. We were greeted at the door and informed that without an appointment we could not come in and look around. I cannot comment on TAC's level of service because I didn't get to experience it (I have heard good things about them) but I wanted to post my experience so that others wouldn't wouldn't drive there and be turned away. I was there about a week ago and all I have to say is STAY AWAY from Jennifer in the show room and do your best to ignore their receptionist Elizabeth! Elizabeth has no manners in treating and receiving customers, she will give you an attitude and Jenifer has a very unprofessional way of handling her customers, she tries to make you feel like she is above you, like if she owned the place and as if she was doing you a favor by spending time with you. Also, when you walk in there all you hear is co-workers complaining about being short handed with staff/help. Ironically, there were a couple other customers who were doing nothing but complaining about the service as well, man what a terrible experience. Anyway, if you can stay away from this place PLEASE DO SO!!! There is a nice woman named Carma or Karma, she is really cool and although she will always do her best to try to help you, she can't always do everything herself! read more
