The Icon of Pizza is now ready to open its door this Thursday! I had the privilege tonight to dine in there incredible newly designed Resturant tonight for a soft opening. I was completely impressed with there very large open floor concept accompanied by casual to upscale interior. The food completely matched it's surrounding with newly added to the menu home made pasta, fresh green salads and as expected the hand tossed pizza with my favorite toppings ! I look forward to going back as always because it's a place where you enjoy the food and the people who are all there its a full experience! The best pizza in Maple shade, Pennsauken, and Cherry hill. The crust is thin as all pizza should be. Convenient cash only so you don't have to wait for slow morons having credit card troubles. Evey other pizza place in maple shade has soggy mush compared to this nice thin and crispy pizza with very good ingredients. First time trying this restaurant.the food was very good.however..the portion size of the DINNER/SHARING PORTION SIZE gnocchi was so small,I swore they made a mistake.It was $15! I can honestly say this place is just ok. The pasta was good but the pizza was less than expected. It had almost no cheese. If it was a tomato pie it still would just be ok, not enough flavor in the sauce to carry it. If you like a hot oven crispy crust tomato pie, maybe you will like it. We decided to get takeout instead of eat in tonight. We ordered 1 pizza at 7pm and was told it would take 30 minutes. I show up at 7:20 and pay the young lady at the register. Had the gnocchi with blush tomato basil sauce and a plain pie. Both were delicious. The meal was reasonably priced and made even cheaper being that Tacconellis is a BYOB. This certainly isn't an upscale setting but the place was clean, quiet, and had some good oldies on. Would definitely recommend. The pizza is very thin so be ready to order more than you are used to. I have heard about Tacconelli's but never visited their old location. They recently reopened on Main St. in Maple Shade so I decided to give it a try with my kids. The place was packed which raised my expectations. The hostess seemed perplexed and was not particularly efficient managing her hand written list. They really should invest in an iPad. This is hands down the best pizza in the area. Excellent crust, excellent sauce, always cooked perfectly. I've occasionally had pizza as good, but I've never had better, so if you're in the area, I can't even imagine the snobbiest of pizza lovers being disappointed with Tacconelli's pizza. You would have to go to Philadelphia to Pietro's on Market to get pizza of this caliber. I also think the salad is top notch. I tried to get them to tell me the recipe for the dressing and all they would say is that its a balsamic vinaigrette. I managed to duplicate it at home though. But their house salad is awesome. Basically, romaine, cucumbers, peppers, mushrooms and onion. I always have them omit the onions and the mushrooms and always love that salad. And by the way, I don't know what is up with the red peppers they put in that salad, but they are consistently the best red peppers I've ever had. I always order: Marguerite Pizza with House salad. Awesome... every.single.time Downside: Weird freaky hours. Tuesday through Sunday after 4? What pizza place is not open Saturday at lunchtime? Tacconelli's. VERY nice staff. I had to special order my food and ask them to put special cheese on my pizza b/c I have allergies, and they were happy to do it. We ordered 3 pies: my special order, a white pizza, and a regular cheese pizza. My pizza was delicious! The regular cheese pizza (I'm told) was delicious. The white pie (I'm told) was REALLY salty - almost inedible, but the staff was SO nice about my special order that we didn't want to send it back. Also - VERY IMPORTANT - we almost overpaid at the end, and the waitress was VERY honest and gave us the money back instead of pocketing it, which she very easily could have. read more

We were there last night for a celebration so we had a large party. Our waitress was extremely rude from the start. Anytime she was asked for anything from anyone at our table she was annoyed. I felt the entire time as if we were disturbing her. We placed our salad order which I will say was good but then didn't get to place our pizza order for like 30 minutes after we were originally seated because that's how long it took her to come back to take the order. Our table was ignored the entire night by her. Anyway, we ordered about 6 pizzas , one came out wrong and the extremely rude waitress said that's how we ordered it. Not sure how you order a white pizza wrong? Pretty simple! It came out with spinach and tomatoes on it. I got a "ma'am I just read you what I wrote down on the receipt so that's what you ordered" as her response. Like she couldn't have written it down wrong? SO RUDE! A simple I'm sorry about any confusion or I can put another one in for you if you'd like would have been fine. She is definitely in the wrong field and should not be working with the public. We should have not given her over a 20 percent tip however, I'm not sure if she has to share tips or not but she did have help from other staff members bringing out the food, etc. and they were all very polite and I would never want to stiff them bc of her terrible attitude. Couldn't wait to get out of there. Such a shame too bc like I said we were there for a celebration and their dessert menu looked good and we were hoping to get desserts after but we just wanted to leave so we went elsewhere for dessert. This review is more about the experience then the quality of the food. My wife and I have wanted to try this place for quite some time, but never had the opportunity. It is a little bit of a drive for us, but luckily our son has recently started playing in an indoor sports league in the area, which goes through March. We figured we'd give it a try this past Saturday, and if we liked it, we could make it our go to every week after his games. When we walked in the waiting area was packed, so we knew we were in for a wait. My wife checked in with the hostess and was told it would be a 50-60 minute wait, but most likely less. Even with 2 kids in tow, we figured that was reasonable for a Saturday night, especially after all of the good things we've heard about their pizza. The waiting area steadily cleared out, so after an hour we expected we were getting close. Then walked in a group of 29, followed by a group of about 13, both of whom had reservations. Needless to say, we weren't seated for another hour, which put our total wait time at nearly 2 hours. By that point we were all beyond starving. The waitress was very pleasant and sympathetic to our situation and immediately put our pizza order in before coming back to get our drinks. The pizza came out quickly, and all told we were done eating and paid the bill in less then a half hour. Part of the issue is the restaurant is BYOB, so this just invites abuse by customers because they take the time to socialize after eating, which slows down the ability to turn the tables over. One large group in particular was seated an hour before us and were still sitting at the table drinking (not eating) when we were leaving. I understand the staff can't control this, but they should limit the number of reservations (must be a party of at least 8), and large parties they allow to book on a busy night. We saw at least 3 private parties in addition to multiple large groups in the restaurant that night. When your seating can only accommodate 130 people, this seriously limits your ability to seat people in a timely fashion. In the end, the pizza was very good (not great). There are very few meals I'm willing to wait 2 hours for and pizza is not one of them. We will not be back anytime soon, if ever. read more

Everyone has their preference when it comes to pizza. I prefer a medium to thick crust and light sauce. I've been here three times so I know I'm not getting my preferred pizza type. My last visit was last week when I met up with family to celebrate two birthdays. So me and my 3 year old old daughter walk in and upon asking for a measly 8 ounces of pizza sauce the entire staff looks at me as if I'm crazy and the owner walks up to tell me very bluntly that he doesn't have any to spare and will not be selling us any pizza sauce.So we had to walk out and go over to montesini where it was no issue. I have dedicated my lunch every Friday to dine here ever since my first visit 4 months ago. I'll leave the pizza for last. The Gnocchi are just incredible. They are so soft and light, and paired with the Pork Ragu, they are close to perfect as an appetizer. Then, there are the monthly meatballs. These are only available on the first Friday of each month and my colleague and I have to get them. They are so moist, crispy, cheesy, and pack such a punch of flavor! Try them if you can, please. Now, for the main event. The Pizza. Let's get this out of the way, if you don't like thin crust or well done pizza, I suggest not leaving a review, go back to Papa John's. This is how I like my pizza and it seems like everyone in the dining area do, as well. When we walk in, the ambiance is perfect. The lights are dimmed down to make the dining room feel warm and comforting, classic music such as Frank Sinatra and other music of the like are usually playing. The wait staff are very kind and energetic. Today, we don't even have to order, we just sit down, the waitress asks if we want the 'Dante Special' (Spicy Marinara, Hot Sausage, and Pepperoni), we always say yes and usually just have to wait 8 minutes for our pie to hit the table. Each slice is a masterpiece. The spices of the marinara, crispy crunch of each pepperoni slice, and the spicy sausage retains all of its moisture and is still so crispy. First the good: We were seated promptly by a courteous and very attentive waitstaff. Our party of 7 ordered the greek and ceasar salads as well as pizzas. The salads were fresh, crisp and delicious. Now the bad: After reading all the positive reviews, we were looking forward to trying the pizza. The white pizza was overcooked, greasy and had the texture of a cracker. The cheese pizza with mushrooms was bland and lacked flavor, tasting as if the tomatoes were right out of the can. Our family of big eaters actually left two pieces of pizza on the tray.
