My employer orders the office lunch every Friday. Today they ordered pizza from Tony's. Most of us never heard of this restaurant and it's only a few blocks from our building. I tried a slice of the Buffalo chicken pizza as the cheesesteak pizza. Both were very good although the Buffalo chicken was my favorite!! Will definitely order from there again! read more

The woman on the phone and at the counter was very nice. The pizza smelled great. However, both pizzas were severely undercooked. The ingredient quality was average at best (ham was a stack of lunch meat diced and in clumps). The amount of salt left a burning feeling in my mouth. A lovely little mom and pop pizza place. Nothing fancy. Nothing unusual. We shared a large cheesesteak and it just hit the spot. It came with potato chips and a drink. The bread was perfect, the meat juicy and flavorful, and it was served fresh and hot within minutes of sitting down. The lady who served us was very sweet and friendly. Pricing was fair. After reading Marcello D.'s very solid review of Tony's, I swung by one day last week while running errands on my lunch break. The door was held open for me by a friendly gentleman on his way out, and I entered to hear the husband and wife duo behind the counter speaking to each other in Italian. Swoon! I ordered two slices to go, one plain and one veggie. Fifteen minutes later I was back at my desk, inhaling the pizza as fast as humanly possible. The slices were nicely sized and with a thin crust. The toppings on the veggie pizza made me feel downright healthy about my lunch choice. I felt like I gave into my pizza craving without going way overboard in the calorie department. Whether or not that was true... is irrelevant at this point. I have had better pizza, but for a quick takeout slice, Tony's wasn't a bad option. I'll check them out again sometime soon. read more

It's always a pleasure to walk in here and be greeted with a "Ciao, Marcello," no matter how long it has been since my last visit. The first time, my order was messed up to the point where the pizza was barely even close to what I wanted. The second time, both pizzas and onion rings were so burnt that my family couldn't taste anything but charcoal. Haddonfield, you're fortunate to have Tony's in your neighborhood! Every year I call from 1100 miles away in Tampa Bay to order one of Tony's best hoagies for my cousin's birthday in August. Their food is consistently good and delivery service is always right on time! My cousin would rather have one of their hoagies than any other birthday gift.I think that speaks for itself. Since the owners speak Italian it gives me a chance to parli Italiano as I did back in the day when I studied at Temple University's campus in Rome. Only tried the pizza but it wasn't that great. Well, it may have been good if it wasn't severely under-cooked. The pizza slid right off the slice it was so under-cooked. Might give it another try to see if it was an anomaly but wasn't thrilled with what I got. Prices were fair, slices were standard size and the atmosphere is what you would expect of a small pizza joint. Some locals were hanging out taking up a few tables, you can tell they frequent the place a lot. Not a lot of traffic for the lunchtime which can be telling for some places. read more

We've been regulars for the 6 yeas we've lived in Haddonfield and of course that means we think it's the best pizza in town. The owners are great and know their customers. They often bring garlic knots for the kids and always fawn over the little ones. Pizza ranges from solid/good to occasionally great. It's a friendly cool scene and I have to admit the soccer on the TV ( in Italian) and kitchen chatter ( Italian ) influences my judgement - but what can I say - there is nothing phony about this place and they put out a pretty good pie. read more

If you are visiting Haddonfield, as I was, you'll immediately notice how dang cute this town is. Everything in the downtown area is adorable -- restaurants, shops, houses, business... everything. So when we walked into Tony's after reading some good reviews, we were like, "meh." Not the cute restaurant one would come to expect after driving through the quaint little streets of Haddonfield. We were skeptical. But then we ordered food from the very nice Italian woman behind the counter, and when it was brought out on actual dinner plates (not paper or styrofoam), I was very impressed. You wouldn't expect a hole-in-the-wall place like this to use real plates and silverware. We ordered some caesar salad, gluten-free cheese pizza, and one medium pizza that was half margherita, half bruschetta. The caesar salads were pretty good. The dressing was thick and creamy, and they served it on the side, which I appreciate. It also hard hardboiled egg slices, which I liked. My friend who is gluten-free said that the gluten-free pizza crust was pretty good, and she really appreciated that they gave her her own individually-wrapped pizza cutter so there was no cross-contamination. My other friend and I shared the bruschetta and margherita pizza. The margherita was really good but I wish we had gotten a whole bruschetta, because it was possibly the best pizza I've ever had. Oh my goodness, SO good. Ridiculously fresh mozzarella, delicious tomato, basil, garlic, and spring mix. Perfectly flavored. Mmmmmmm, you must try it. I'm going to be dreaming about this pizza for a long time. Anyway, do not be fooled by the un-cute exterior of the place. In a word; HORRIBLE! If I could award zero stars for the food I just ate, I would. I'm basing my review on the Holy Trinity of Waste; Time, Money and Food. It kills me to waste any of the three but ALL THREE really gets under my skin. My partner and I have been watching what we eat, working out nearly every day and giving a great effort at changing our lifestyle. After four weeks of being careful about the food we've been eating, we decided that tonight would be a "splurge" night. What a waste that we chose to break our good eating routine with a delivery order from Tony's Pizzeria. We called for a pizza at 540PM adding an order of calamari and some onion rings (I told you, we were splurging!). It's only been 15 minutes since I finished eating and I can't even remember what type of pizza we ordered. Nature has a way of blocking out terrible memories I guess! I'd look at the menu to find out but unfortunately my partner shredded it as soon as we cleared our plates. When we placed our delivery order we were told it would arrive in 30 minutes. Sort of hard to believe that a pizza can arrive in 30 minutes on a Friday night but hey, they know their business a lot better than I do, right? WRONG! After calling back an hour and fifteen minutes into our wait time, I was told that our order "had already gone out and should be there any minute." Another ten minutes passed before it finally arrived making our wait an hour and twenty five minutes. It was NOT worth the wait! The calamari...horrid! I know what food looks like when it has had freezer-burn and there is no doubt that this crap suffered a bad case of it! The breading had a white, freezer-burned edge and it tasted as though it had been deep-fried with everything else that had ever been deep-fried at Tony's. Being delivered cold didn't help. We attempted to rescue it by putting it in the microwave for 30 seconds but it only made the calamari flavored rubber bands a little more rubber bandier. The onion rings...horrid! Onion rings are pretty self-defining. Rings of onions. These were the same crappy onion-flavored, circular-shaped, deep-fried "things" that Burger King serves. Minced onions inside of a bad breading that were limp as a pasta noodle when they were delivered. Onto the pie...isn't pizza supposed to be hot? Seriously. If you don't have the proper equipment to deliver your product hot and fresh, don't be in the delivery business! When I opened the pizza box and reached for a slice, the crust was cold. Not just "warm". I mean COLD! The cheese on the pizza broke rather than stringing from the box to my plate like a great pizza should. It's truly unfortunate because the flavor of the pie was actually acceptable and if it would have been at least warm, I might have something good to say about it. Gotta tell you, Tony...our experience of your restaurant sucked! You can't afford to serve crap like this in today's economy...there are few of us who will give a second chance at wasting our money. And, there's way too much competition in the area to throw good money after bad. We won't be back and strongly recommend others don't waste their time or money. read more

He can barely speak English and he gets highly annoyed when he doesn't comprehend what you're saying and he rudely cuts you off constantly. The food is average at best, so I'm out. read more

I am generally an adventurous person when it comes to food and trying new places but this is one place i regret ever visiting. I was recommended this place by a coworker, who raved about their pizza. I thought, why not. As soon as I got in, the husband and wife who are the owners/cooks were in the middle of an argument. It was all in Italian so I did not understand but I would not be surprised if it was full of curse words judging from the tone of voice. When they noticed I was there, they immediately stopped and started taking my owner as if nothing happened. I ordered a fountain drink and 2 slices of sausage pizza and sat down while I was waiting for it to be cooked. When I started eating, I realized that I made a mistake. The pizza was the same quality as an overcooked Red Baron pizza and the sausage reminded me of partially frozen jimmy deans sausage patties. I immediately went to the bathroom as soon as i was done as i have the tendency to vomit when i eat peasant quality food. I couldn't even relieve myself because there was one of those 14 inch, solid perfectly formed turds that curled perfectly around the toilet bowl in there. I was so horrified i bolted out of the restaurant as if i was doing the 40 yard dash for the eagles try outs. Im having ptsd every night. Really the worst pizza place around haddonfield. Many others have opened and this place is usually empty so I can't tell why theY can stay open for so many years. No flavor or passion in the food. Or atmosphere. A stale recipe with nothing innovative. I've been going to Tony's Pizza for 15 years. It's my go-to place for pizza. Not the best ever but pretty darn good. My husband requests long hots on the pizza and they are happy to oblige. The owners are an Italian couple named Jerry and Connie and are very nice. They are funny to watch interact especially when they get in an argument. My mother-in-law from Pittsburgh says she craves Tony's Pizza when she's in for a visit so we always order it when she's in town. They also have a loyalty card and you get a free pizza after 10. They also offer an awesome special on Mondays: $7.99 for a large pie. read more

Went here for the first time today. The lady working the front was so sweet. She wouldn't let us pay until we got our food because she wanted to make sure it was satisfactory. My husband and I got two appetizers and a large pizza. All of which exceeded our expectations. It's hard to come by good food accompanied by good service anymore but this place has it.
