This is the best taco in SF. Definitely get your taco "nicks way", which is fully loaded with guacamole and a crispy shell. We always do the carne asada tacos. For better or worse, we haven't tried any other items on the menu, because the tacos are just perfect. Horchata tasted a bit watered down. Ambiance of the place is great. You order first and grab a seat with a number

Carne asada burrito

Decent burrito with expectation that it is not authentic, good for a quick stop if in the area. The carne asada was actually flavorful and cooked well - good quality and not fatty at all. I actually enjoyed the whole wheat tortilla. Overall very clean tasting and not oily or heavy!

Wow. They did not skimp out on their meat at all. I ordered the taco salad with steak and it came with a raspberry vinaigrette. I was worried that maybe there wouldn't be enough sauce, but the juices that came from the meat coupled with the tangyness of the dressing was delicious. The guacamole was also a good touch!

I'd call this an elevated Mexican diner experience, with absolutely elevated prices too! It probably doesn't happen too often that you'll pay more than $10 for a single taco but here we are. The grilled fish taco however was extremely tasty, and the homemade green salsa was probably the best salsa I have tasted in a while (you can purchase it separately at the counter). 4 stars for the quality of the food, the nice staff, and the modern interior. Will be back to try more!

The food I had delivered to my address from this place was so good. The carneasada quesadilla was super delicious. I highly suggest people try this place out if they are looking for good quality food for lunch. The ambience of the place and the overall service of this place is excellent from what I read. I give them 5 stars . I may order from there again sometime soon.

CHIPS, SALSA & GUACAMOLE

10/10 highly recommend! My besties have dined at Tacko before and decided when we visited the City again, that would be the lunch venue. Nestle in a cute section of town, Tacko was bustling with people and per usual when visiting a restaurant for the first time, I surveyed tables as I decided what to order. Too many great sounding choices so I went with a chorizo quesadilla with guac and sour cram. My eyes about popped out of my head when my lunch arrived...the quesadilla was nearly as this as a burrito! Not sure how they make the tortilla but the texture was lovely...with a light char. Greasy, delicious chorizo..ohhs and ahs with every bite. Chips guac and salsa are a MUST. The lovely trio was so delicious I could literally be happy with just that. The frescas? OMG! I ordered half lime and half mango and was in heaven! Not heavy laden with sugar to the point that's all you taste (sadly common with many frescas) but the perfect balance that allowed the sweetness of the fruit to shine through. Kyle took our order, he was patient, answered questions and made recommendations for those in our party who were indecisive. We also met Eddie who was friendly and kind. Back in the City in a couple weeks and I told the Besties a stop at Tacko is an absolute must!

Baja and grilled fish tacos

Honestly not the best Mexican place out there. I think I've always had a feeling that it would be very mediocre, and my gut feeling was right, unfortunately. This is a very solid 3-star place, nothing great, nothing horrible, nothing worth going back for. I got the Baja fish taco, grilled fish taco, and the grilled shrimp taco, all regular (as opposed to Nick's way). They were generally okay, but nothing special. I think it was missing a slice of lime to be squeezed on top, or something...not sure exactly what. My husband got the meat tacos, one carne asada, one carnitas, which he thought were just average too. He described the meat quality as not being so great. However, we did order a little carne asada meat taco for our daughter and that one did taste better. The chips and salsa were solid though, did enjoy the pico de gallo. It was also very convenient ordering online, and the food did come before it was predicted in the order! Overall, just very average Mexican food, and I won't return, but nothing horrible.

Carne Asada MEXICAN BURRITO

I love coming to Tacko to get a burrito. Their portions are always generous, and the flavor of the meat and the salsas are so good. I like the 2 salsas they keep on every table as well as the habanero salsa they have (get this by the register). I usually get a carne asada Mexican burrito that comes with pico and beans inside. The burrito is always delicious and filling! Service has always been fast here too.

New England Chesapeake vibe meets solid wholesome quality Mexican food .They are known for the fish tacos as well as using quality ingredients. Both choices were solid eats and the food just as good as my previous visit several years ago.

Generous portions, but not worth the quality. The service is good, and the margarita pitcher is definitely the best value on the menu.

I got the baja fish and elote corn and it was such a solid combination. I really enjoyed 'Nick's Way' and the portions are huge.

These were some decent tacos... reminded me of the place on 9th Ave. I hade a trio of chicken, steak and pork. I'll go back.

I ordered the carnitas burrito and my husband ordered the carne asada one. We also asked the guys for a salsa picante and their house made one delivered! The ingredients were tasty, well seasoned and fresh. Service is quick, food and ambiance are no frills and cash only. I think about this burrito daily and am willing to travel across the country to get it again. Not to mention, but this is a Mission style burrito in the Mission! This is the only way to do it and I now totally understand the hype.

A few people were already in there eating, and we know this place is good, as a few others in our group and I have been here multiple times. The Taqueria is typical of any other, with bench-style chairs for folks to sit on, a water station, and workers cooking it up in the kitchen. I wasn't too hungry, so I grabbed a Super Lengua Taco, while my friends grabbed burritos, we ended up grabbing 3 complimentary chips and guac/salsa with our order and the food came out pretty quickly. When I saw my Taco I forgot how much they stuffed it and wow, two of these would've filled me up just like a taco; there was so much Lengua that it kept falling off after every bite. The flavors all came together and I scruffed down the whole thing after about 6+ bites! Definitely a place to come to if you're looking for a full meal, or something to snack on!

Normally that's when I question my patience... but when a line is wrapped around the building before lunch even starts you know something serious is happening. Spoiler: it was worth it. We ordered the carne asada tacos and the asada burrito. The tacos were packed with flavor and loaded up. I had a hard time holding my one taco and gracefully eating it. I thought the tacos were good then I tried the asada burrito... I only had a few bites and it stole the show for me. I'm still thinking about it, which feels a little dramatic but honestly, that burrito earned the attention. It was that good. Every staff member I interacted with was also incredibly kind. They managed the flow of people well and I didn't feel rushed at all while dining in. Overall 10/10. The hype is real it. The line is long, but it moves and the food absolutely delivers.

Notably, these burritos don't have rice, but are instead replaced with copious amount of guac and refried beans. They do take credit card but there is a slight fee. Also, they do take call orders but NOT during peak hours.
