I should have been a bit more skeptical when I saw there were not any traditional taco options on the menu. I think the best part of our meal were the chips and salsa. (However, I'm a firm believer taco shops should offer free chips and salsa like restaurants offer bread but I digress). The location on the river was nice and I believe I remember seeing them offer cornhole. The location is a great spot to get some fresh air and bring a big group. I had heard of it from Doc Brown, of Doc Brown's BBQ food truck fame. He spent much time describing just how amazing this little taco truck in front of the Dollar General super market was. After working a wedding, I just happened to drive by the place and decided to stop in. There's a hand written menu outside of the little trailer, a couple of chairs, and an umbrella to keep you shaded while you order and eat. I decided on 3 tacos, al pastor, carne asada, and lengua (sup, I like tongue). At $2 a pop the price is right! They had a couple of other items as well, including a spiced pork in flour tortilla and something that sounded a lot like a mexican huarache, but was different and called a tlacoyo.... which I'm not even going to try to pronounce. My order was taken by what I assume was the mother of the family that operates this lovely little spot. My tacos were up super quickly. I'm a big guy who likes a hearty breakfast and these filled me up. The service was excellent, though I did take-out. The restaurant seems very chill and relaxed. I would highly recommend for Gluten Free! They have both corn and plantain tortillas - both of which are gluten free! They're also willing to sub tortillas to make tacos gluten friendly! My favorite are the plantain. I will definitely be back!
