I really hope this is a joke that this place has 4 stars on Yelp. I went here tonight after searching on my iPhone for a place that was open at 1:00AM and figured that a 4 star taco place had to have some pretty good food. How can a place that literally smells like shit on the inside get 4 stars?? No joke, it smells just like the inside of one of those blue porto potties inside Taco Boy. You could smell the familiar scent of that weird sanitary piss water as soon as you walked into the door and the sticky, mud covered floor. Let's forget about the ABSOLUTELY WASTED locals outside that made this a scary place to be at 1:00AM (though he kept telling me to "stay cool, bro!" as he kept slapping my hand, which I guess was nice). The tables are covered in disgusting food pieces and did I mention that it smells like shit in here? I got a burrito that feels like it's going to forcefully remove itself from my body shortly, from either the top end or the back end and it's not going to be pretty. My friend got a torta and he was none too pleased with it either. Taco Boy absolutely blows. Just thinking about the meal I ate right now that immediately gave me heartburn makes me want to throw up. I'm not some bougie guy who hasn't eaten at some random, kind of sketchy Mexican places (I used to regularly get tacos from carts powered by generators in Echo Park, Chano's by USC, La Taquiza, and others), so don't think that I was just turned off by the smell of defecation, which I can get over if the food is good. When I got to the counter he looked at me, walked towards me, I said hi he pretended to be on his phone then gave me his back didn't say a word to me had me there like an idiot for about 5-10 min place was almost empty the people eating there just shook their heads. First, if you're going to come here, make sure you're strapped. I saw a drugged up gangster asking for money outside of the location. The area is ghetto, I never realized Anaheim was THIS ghetto! I wasn't sure where I was going because I was following my navigation but one thing I know for sure is that I will NEVER be going back. Your local taco stand/truck probably serves better food than this place. Their condiment area was disgusting and didn't have fresh limes, radishes and other things. My friend kept raving about how good Taco Boy was, and I didn't really believe him and wasn't expecting anything too fantastic, but man was I surprised! Taco Boy is freakin delicious!!!! I got carne asada tacos with sour cream and I was very happy. The meat is super delicious! seasoned and juicy mmmmmm. I hear the salsa is to die for, but since I steer clear of salsa I wouldn't know. So sketch! The location of this taco joint scares me. I probably wouldn't go by myself especially at night since it just seems to be filled with interesting characters. Thankfully, my boyfriend is less of a pansy than I am. There is parking on the side but we usually just parallel park since our time here doesn't take longer than 25 minutes tops. I've only tried the Chicken Tacos and the Carne Asada Tacos here. Both times, they were absolutely delicious. Perfectly juicy which is a huge plus since there's nothing worse than dry and chewy taco meat. I prefer the Chicken Tacos here over the Carne Asada but that's just my personal preference for chicken. I load up on their radish because they are HUGE!! I love that they don't cut up the radish into super thin slices and I've never seen it like this anywhere else. Love it! I had the carnitas taco Carne asada taco Cabeza taco Al pastor taco The cabeza and all pastor were better than the other two, with the cabeza being the best. they're really bad when it comes to customer service, i ordered sopes over the phone today and told us was gonna be ready in 15 mins, drove there and they said they didn't had and order, after I told them we did order it, and told her the number we called, and even though they denied getting the call, they said the order was for 3 tacos and not sopes, but they didn't had the tacos either, they suck, will never go there again. read more

Ok... we all know that I have a thing for tacos by now. If you dont, I am honestly shocked! So I stroll into Taco Boy the other day after another yelper mentioned it in a string of good taco joints. Taco Boy, tucked away in a quiet street in mid-anaheim open 24 hours 7 days a week, proved to be just the thing to cap off yet another great drunkish work party. I had 2 tacos, chorizo + lengua, and a carnitas gordita. Search no more because Taco Boy is as close as Mexico as one could get. Taco Boy restaurant is located in a rundown section of Downtown Anaheim. It is best advised to avoid that area after 10 o'clock at night. Besides the discommoding location, it is a tasty, filling, friendly and wallet friendly eatery. Parking is very quick and convenient because there is a parking lot that is shared with other businesses. If one is lucky enough, there is also parallel parking available along the side of the street. Taco Boy, like many small restaurants accepts payments only in cash. Inside the restaurant there are many glossy wooden tables that are always clean and well maintained. There is only indoor seating and is child friendly. There are arcade machines that are sure to grab the kid's attention; who would pass an opportunity to play Marvel VS Capcon or Bust a Move? It is very well lit and has an illusion of being twice as big because all of the mirrors along the walls. Ordering is easy for the customers because of their newly remodeled display menu. There are not any available menus on hand, but the menu behind the counter is very clear. The size of the font is big and the prices are right next to them as well. Pictures are now displayed next to popular dishes making it simple to see the portion size to see if the plate is big enough to share. There are pictures of sopes, burritos, and platos de carnitas making it hard to choose. As for drinks, there are traditional Mexican drinks such as agua de tamarindo (tamarind), agua de jamaica (hibiscus), and the very popular agua de horchata. There are also soft drinks like Diet Coke, Sprite, and Sunkist if one does not feel like being so exotic. The best part is that they do not have a charge for refills. When it comes to customer service, the staff is really friendly. The cashier who takes the orders speaks English very well, so if one cannot speak Spanish, there is no problem.
